Customer service is clearly a thing of the past. I came in this evening with my niece. She grabbed Juices for herself and several others in the car. She sat them on the counter while I tried to decide what cocktail seltzer and/ or beer I wanted, once I decided, I went to the counter and asked the clerk, Laura to get it for me. She asked for my ID, to which I immediately passed it to her. She then asked if my niece was my daughter to which I answered "No." She then said she needed to see her ID. I asked why. Laura responded because she came in the store with you. I said and what difference does that make. She then said because she needed to see ID as she was still holding my ID. I asked why do you need an ID for her when I'm the one who asked for the drink and I'm purchasing it, additionally you saw her bring all these Juices up to the register. Laura continued saying it's because my niece came in the store with me. So I told my niece to go to the car, Laura said she still would refuse to sell me my items. I asked her if my 3 yr old comes in here will you need an ID for him since he came in with me. She stated no. I said well I'm not understanding the problem. I asked if there was a manager. Laura said yes. I asked to speak the manager. Laura said "oh she's not here," and I requested for her to call the manager because she's not making any sense when she's already gotten my ID. Laura said "I'm not disturbing her at home!" At this point things blew up out of proportion. I will admit I lost my cool, BUT this was completely avoidable. Even when asked if she would need an ID for my 14 yr old if she came in with me, Laura's response was "No, that's different." It's not even remotely different. Two people come into the store together, you don't know the age or relationship of either, but you don't ask for IDs for both. Scenario is the same. The sales associate Laura who not only lacks customer service skills, also lacks communication skills. She never once articulated why exactly she needed an ID for my niece who was with me. "Because she came in the store with you" is not a sufficient answer. Her off-putting tone, energy, and failure to justify her actions gave me that impression that she wanted to give us a difficult time because we we're African American. There's no place for that ignorance in 2024. I'm sure due to the location of the store, it gets its fair share of customers/ tourist, but I'm sure several people will gladly go across the street to CVS and pay more for better customer service. As a sales associate, customer service, equality for all races and people skills should be a high priority, and Laura definitely needs to go back to lesson one on all three.

The girl on night shift, won’t check your ID, to see if you are of legal age. She just says “as long as you’re a local” or “I’ve never seen you.” Ma’am, we have DRIVERS LICENSE for a reason. Never coming here again. Will happily go to Spankys or any other stripes but will avoid this one.

My husband and I stopped by to buy a beach sticker permit. We were on vacation from Austin. We were actually staying in Rockport and decided to go visit Port Aransas and Mustang Island. We bought the sticker that lasts for a full year, so we are already planning our next vacation to visit here. The store was nice. Good location, it is really close to the beach. Clean too. And the employee was friendly and helpful. They also have lots and lots of snacks.

Please, I was in this store and the tall blonde worker didn't want to sell to me just because I was Latino and didn't speak English, we are all equal in this world, why discriminate against the Latino community, that's what this job is about, giving good customer service, I wonder if he spoke? English didn't want to sell me

older female cashier was extremely rude, the guy was nice tho. definitely don’t recommend coming here unless you want to be treated like trash for being a tourist (which is definitely where they make most of their profit anyway). They did not make it clear where the line was, naturally with two cashiers i assumed there was two lines (which were being occupied by other customers) so i took my place in line, and when it was my turn she completely stopped me and gave me a terrible look. she pointed to the lady in the other line and waved her over “the line is over there, and she’s been here so i’m taking her order first” i’m totally okay with that but the way she said it was so out of line. Naturally i assumed i was next, but she made me go to the other line to wait after everyone and i was one of the last people served even though i was in line for a while. Good thing i didn’t have to deal with her, and got to be with the guy to take my order.while my order was being rung up she was mumbling rude things under her breath and talking negatively about me to ANOTHER CUSTOMER, i heard her say she’s been on the island for years and she’s glad it’s her last 8 months.just because you hate your job, and hate tourists and are “leaving soon anyway” doesn’t mean you get to be rude to unsuspecting and undeserving people.

Horrible customer service, would definitely try one of the other many stripes gas stations on the island and not give this one your business at all.

Always friendly. Never any lines. Just wish they had more variety in there store. That also always have construction workers who don't guide us properly. But in all respect the people that work here are awesome and I definitely recommend going here to truck drivers and travelers to stop and eat or rest. Much love y'all.

I went in to get a fishing license and the lady behind the counter was so rude and disrespectful giving me a lot of flack because I wanted to buy a fishing license. She told me that the fishing license was $30 but if I wanted to pay $47 I could get the fishing license for 12 months instead of having the fishing license expiring on August 31st. She told me I could pay 7 additional dollars to get the 12-month fishing license, but I told her that that was $17 based upon what she said set the price was $30. Then she told me that I was making her confused, and I said no you are the one that is confusing. I asked for the manager, and she was really rude and disrespectful and wouldn't even give me the manager's name or when the manager would be in to speak to. She was not wearing a name tag,so I asked her for her name and she told me she can give out that information, that was the same thing that she said when I asked for the manager's name. I can't believe how rude and disrespectful she was. I doubt that it will make any difference, but I will be calling the manager tomorrow and sharing my experience with him. I wished that I had driven the extra mile and a half down the street to get my fishing license from somebody else that may have been more pleasant. I recommend that you do not go to this location.
