“This is a shout-out to Mary in the deli department at Arlan's. She makes, without a doubt, the best fried chicken in the city, better than any chain and as good as I've had anywhere!I asked Mary her secret and she mentioned two things. First, she filters the oil every three batches. That keeps burnt pieces from building up and creating an acrid flavor in the oil. She says management has tried to stop her from doing this but she sticks to her tried and true frequency. It works! So guys, let her do it her way!Second, Mary says she does it with love. "I believe you can taste the love in my chicken." And you can.It doesn't hurt that the pieces are huge, way bigger than you'd get at KFC or Church's. And if you call ahead, Mary will fry you up a fresh batch. Even if it sits an hour or so, I've never found it to be dried out. Always perfect!Mary is there Monday through Friday, daytime.”

“This DG is close to home which is really convenient for us and the cashier I usually see is so friendly. When I was heavily pregnant he would help me load things into my car when I needed help. Only down-side is that sometimes the line can get kinda long, but that's with any DG. They have a self-checkout that is supposedly going to be up & running soon which should help! Another odd thing to add is that they check 20 dollar bills (and up) very often, but I believe that is being enforced by management.”
“Just shopped at this store. Is it possible when opening a new cash register lane to relieve the long lines, to give priority to customers that have been waiting the longest? Instead of the last person that got in line. I spent almost an hour between waiting in line and finally deciding to check out on my own. Very exhausting experience for me since I am a senior and disabled. I left this store at 2:53 pm.”

“Originally went in to have some necklaces resized and ending up getting the most beautiful bezeled set diamond ring. The band is unpolished white gold and at first i asked if he would be able to polish it and he said yes but explained why he left it unpolished. I ended up purchasing it unpolished and i swear the owner knew me better than i know myself. I'm obsessed with this ring!! The owner is professional and kind. I've previously purchased a lot of jewelry from ernestos but from now on will make all future purchases from malleable. 10/10!!!”

“Clean, good selection, extremely busy. The parking lot is not user friendly. Beware of the 4 way stop bordering the nearby shopping center. Traffic often spills over to nearby areas. The drive thru for the pharmacy is not user friendly either, meaning if you turn there by accident, you might get stuck waiting on the slow motion line to move out of there. A family member did that once while looking for a parking space. What a nightmare. The pharmacy area has pros and cons. It's a gamble on getting assistance from them that is kind and courteous. I worked retail, i get it. Oh and until covid is completely over, if you shop in store, wear a mask. When doctors in the media finally say: there are no more covid variants, they don't exist! Then you can let your guard down. There's a lot of mask fatigue, we get it. But protect yourself and family with a simple mask. As soon as you get outside, or in the car, remove it. No big deal.”

“This is a decent size Dollar General located near Canyon Lake. It has 18 doors of refrigerated space and 16 doors of freezer space. Four of those doors are dedicated for cold beer, but no craft beer. You will also find gardening supplies, cosmetics, grocery items, home decor, snacks, household items, and pretty much anything that you would need for the home or outdoors.”

“I've been shopping here for almost two years, and I'm pretty happy with it. The staff that I interact with are usually pretty friendly, and any time I've had an issue, I can usually get it sorted out pretty quickly. I like to use the H-E-B app. It's good because you can select the store that you're shopping at, and then when you can't find an item you can use the app to tell you what aisle it's on. And also they have digital coupons and you can use the app for that instead of paper coupons, which they also have in the store for people without smart phones, I guess. Are there people who don't have smart phones? Anyway, definitely shop here if you like lower prices and saving money. And a generally friendly staff.”

“This HEB Pharmacy location is fantastic. They provide excellent customer service, have a double drive thru in case you don't want to go inside, and surprisingly they're able to really herd the cattle through quickly- this location serves probably half of New Braunfels! So, don't be afraid when the drive thru lines are backed up or the inside line wraps around the isles- they move quickly, without mistake, and still manage to not pass out! If you have any questions or concerns about medications, even OTC, any of their Pharmacists are happy to help- and they take the time to make sure you're comfortable before they walk off. Overall, I pray I don't ever need to use another Pharmacy. Unfortunately I have multiple prescriptions a month and then occasionally one time prescriptions for sick kids. I haven't had to stress one time if my medication would be in stock, if they would be able to make the refill request, or if they'd have to transfer a prescription out (which then becomes a nightmare). Hats off to all those who work behind this HEB Pharmacy's counters!”
