My daughter was really excited to do the free trial to see if she would like to join gymnastics. She kept asking me when we were going and counting down the days. When the day arrived, We got there, checked in, and waited as we didn't know what to expect. Finally, the receptionist upfront told us to go to the back. We never been so we didn't know where to go so we asked another instructor who was beginning to teach some other girls and she told us to go to the other side. The instructor, who we met on the other side, was not welcoming and didn't acknowledge us. My daughter and I just stood there, and it wasn't until another mom who followed behind me asked if her daughter needed to go where the instructor was. The instructor was really soft-spoken and said yes. Both my daughter and the other little girl went in front of her, and she began having them stretch. After they were done stretching, she had them line up and asked them to start doing a see saw. Both the girls looked at each other and had no idea what she was talking about, so then she told them to do back bends. It wasn't until 2 other little girls joined that it looked like they were familiar with what the instructor was saying started showing my daughterand the other little girl what the instructor was talking about. This went on for the remainder of the time. It wasn't until the instructor started walking towards us that I realized it was over. So I called my daughter over and she just started crying. She was so sad because she thought she was going to learn something. I thought the instructor would have at least showed them how to do the things she was asking them to do or just be more involved. Both my daughter and i were new to this, so to be honest, we didn't know what to expect. Overall, her first experience was not so great. Maybe the instructor was new, not sure. We never received a follow-up call to see how things went for her first try.

My daughter joined South Austin Elite cheer about a year or so ago. Our experience has been nothing short of amazing. She joined with only a few skills down that she had learned at home, just a few very basic things. Her first class, she was nervous to do anything that could result in a fall of some sort. She was also definitely a bit shy.Literally by class three her confidence to try new things had drastically increased. This is because she felt safe and a sense of trust with her coaches, who I cannot recommend enough. She loves these people like family and on the outside chance she’s had ti miss a class due to illness or traveling, she is always so sad. That’s how much she wants to be there! She is now on her third competitive team with SAE. That in and off itself has been an absolutely amazing and heartwarming experience as she’s made many great friends in the process. It’s really nice knowing that she’s making friends outside of school. Her and her teammates have done sleepovers and several really cool bonding activities, which is sort of the icing on the cake.Skills wise… oh my… her progress has been amazing. This went from something that she was giving a try, to an absolute passion. She lives and breathes cheer, and we absolutely love that she’s getting exercise several nights a week rather than sitting home in front of a tv or phone. She has become so flexible, and little by little has mastered most of the skills she’s been taught. I have zero doubts that she will master the skills she’s still being taught, or has the desire to learn. Her coaches are almost like second moms to her in the sense that I trust them emphatically with my baby, which is so important. They do a great job teaching safety skills. Safety is always their top priority. This also greatly helped her accomplish her other goal of making it onto her school cheer squad. She actually was able to take some pre-tryout classes to prepare for that as well, and wound up receiving the top score for her grade for her tryout. If your child is interested in giving tumbling/cheer a try, I can’t recommend them enough!Thank you, SAE for helping my daughter find her passion, and preparing her to do her best as she pursues it!

This is our third year with South Austin Elite and we are so happy with them. We’ve participated in the after-school program, tumbling program, the prep competitive team and now All-Star competitive team and have never had any complaints. They are very talented, knowledgeable, and professional, it’s not all about winning to them. They truly care for the athletes, and they have proven that tenfold with how well they’ve handled the Covid shut down/quarantine. They continued to offer online classes for the athletes to ensure they were able to work on their skills while the gym was shut down. Now that they’ve been back up and running, they are taking every measure possible to keep our children safe. My daughter loves her coaches and absolutely has grown and as an athlete and a person thanks to them! Her confidence level has increased and it shows on a daily basis. We are SAE fam for as long as they’ll have us ??

My daughter has been with SAE for four seasons, starting when she was 3! She just turned 8, and I could not be more proud of where my daughter is and that is in large part because of these amazing coaches! They are professional, kind, and care for the children like their own. I could not ask for a better gym to be a part of!!

We love this gym. The dedication all of the coaches have to helping the athletes be their best while teaching them teamwork and accountability is inspiring. My kids have come to this gym for tumbling, competitive cheer, parkour, and flyer classes (you have to keep 4 kids busy during the summer). They look forward to it and are excited to go to the gym every time they have a class and that speaks volumes to me.

South Austin Elite Cheer has 2 fantastic owners. My child has had great training over the past year. They will push you child hard however; they will get results. I highly suggest this gym if looking to put your child in competitive cheer, recreational cheer or tumbling. In addition, this gym has started an all abilities cheer squad and has allowed my daughter to be a junior coach. What other gym does that? This is free to the athletes! Nothing but LOVE for this gym and the coaches!!
