I was transported here from midland for a ruptured appendix. After getting here I was treated with urgency my visit needed. My surgeons were communicating with me about all the things that could change or could happen. After I woke up I went to the MY 3rd floor. My nurses that took care of me were amazing. Kept mme informed on all areas and made sure I was comfort and had everything I needed. I am so glad the sent me here. I would recommend Dr. Lashonda, Nurses Marisa and Faith on the 3rd floor. So thankful!!

I came to this hospital as a transfer from Health and Wellness. The ER waiting room was terrifying. There were 4 security guards which didn't seem like a good sign. The emergency room was not clean at all. I did eventually get a room in the ER. I had multiple teams of surgeons come in to evaluate me. All of them seemed like they weren't sure what to do with me, and none of them obviously were communicating with each other. I get moved to the 5th floor to a private room and am scheduled for surgery. I get my surgery, but find out that they really didn't even do anything. The surgeon never came to talk to me about what happened. As far as I know I never met the actual person who performed the surgery; I met three different surgeons but none of them apparently saw the surgery, so I don't really know if they even know what actually happened. I got conflicting info from multiple people throughout my stay. I feel like I wasn't taken seriously and that my pain was underestimated even though I reiterated multiple times how severe it was. I'm just confused as to why communication was so poor the entire time I was there. I did not feel like I was in a state-of-the-art hospital.

I came into the ER in severe pain. I am thankful I did! Brandon and Keven the two neurologists that were there told me they would get me answers as to where my pain was coming from. They were amazing!! I want to thank them for helping get down to the bottom of this long time coming diagnosis. They did EVERYTHING to figure it out!! I cannot thank those two enough. The staff was absolutely amazing my entire stay. Thank you so much!

UMC is know to be the worst hospital in the southern region
All their funds go straight to the doctors and board members as they use students for free labor training and the students are not being trained properly either causing a lot of issues with anyone getting surgeries at UMC even the children’s side has VERY VERY ignorant students talking to soon to be mothers. UMC is not a good hospital

My 3 year old son was transferred here from Tulia for a nasty burn to his hand. The childrens emergency room staff was judgemental as are all EC staff I've ever dealt with but the burn unit staff is absolutely wonderful! Both of our nurses have been stellar and our night nurse, Elizabeth, has provided the best and most compassionate care I have EVER experienced!

When it takes 3+ hours to be assigned a room, you know there are issues with management. Go to Covenant. You will be better off.

I had spinal surgery here in April of 2024. I was referred here from a rural area 4 hours away who couldn't treat me. This was my 3rd spinal surgery so I know what care I should have gotten. I was not properly medicated at all for 3 days then only sporadically for the remaining 7 days I was there. I didn't sleep at all those first 3 days. I complained to every nurse, cna or tech I saw. Nothing was done until my family started getting loud about the piss poor treatment that I was getting. A hard of hearing nurse actually called the doctor on call and very loudly started saying horrible things about me. I was in so much pain I was literally praying for death. I had to complain to get my actual surgeon to come see me because he kept sending his PA who I hadn't ever seen before the day of my surgery. I was discharged to a nursing home then got infected with a surgical site infection. The neurosurgeon scheduled me for a post surgical check-up 4 weeks later. I didn't trust any of them enough to go to it. I canceled it! I won't use this facility or staff for anything ever again. It traumatized me so much I can just now talk/write about it! ***UPDATE - I contacted "Patient Experience" when this happened. I have recently reviewed my medical records and horrible biased, discriminatory things and straight up lies were documented in my permanent record regarding this incident that made me appear unhinged and difficult to deal with instead of the patient trying to advocate for proper post-op pain management. Thank goodness my family was present for this incident! Good ol "CYA" documenting at it's finest!

I went to the ER at umc and was sat in a wheelchair for 7 HOURS! They called dozens of people ahead of me and there were only 8 or 9 people in the waiting room when I got there. I was haunched to one side, feverish, shaking, and drenched in sweat. I was issued a warning by security for crying out in pain and refusing to lean on my damaged kidney when a nUrSe came to check my vitals. I sat there with severe kidney pain and acute renal injury from ALEVE that I had taken earlier in the day. I saw Dr Kyle Anderson. I told him I was worried about kidney damage from the nsaid, an infection, and possibly rhabdomyolysis.i BEGGED for I fluids to help push the medication out of my kidney and was ignored. I was later told "there's a national shortage" I drove from Clovis to go to this hospital! After sitting in Clovis for 4 hours I had someone drive me here. I was given a CT where they found a stone and told me my labs were normal which is a lie. They found bacteria in my urine and abnormal epithelial cell count and ignored it. My urine was dark after pushing 100 fl oz of water. But they decided not to send for a culture. The chair where they wanted me to get blood drawn was covered in dried blood and I had to ask them to clean it. I told the doctor I had been to the ER some time ago after getting contrast in an abdominal CT and that the ER doctor I saw in Clovis diagnosed me with a cramp. He ordered a muscle relaxer and ketolorac and sent me home. My bpm dropped to 52 on the monitor. Two days later, when I was able to go to my clinic, they diagnosed me with a SEVERE kidney infection!!! I had 164 epithelial cells in a clean catch urine. I spent the next five days on Levaquin and tamulosin and in excruciating pain! I should have been admitted and given fluids and IV antibiotics. I was mistreated and discharged with "left flank pain" and bipolar! I went for my kidney not bIpOlAr!! They told me it was a cramp. it wasn't a cramp!! It still hurts today!! A week later! You possibly caused irreparable harm to me and I will be filing a complaint and taking legal action. My EMTALA rights and my civil rights were violated. It doesn't matter that I had a mental health condition in the past. I still deserved the same level of care as everyone else!!!

I believe I have slipped through the cracks of this provider. Showed up to a clinic for a procedure a month ago to find my Dr and staff wandering around in their parking lot unable to even enter their bldg. I have returned twice since then in an attempt to complete my course of treatment, left my contact info twice and cannot get them to call me back to reschedule. This "hack" thing has completely derailed this hospital district. I don't think I'll ever get rescheduled and treated.

Dr. Idicula and his team were great with my daughter's surgery. Although I am disappointed with the scheduling department/secretaries because they didn't want to see my daughter for her follow up. We didn't realize the time zone changed and they still didn't want to see her. The secretary didn't even want to ask the doctor. Lost a day of work and school. She could have at least been nice about it. Wasn't nice at all.
