When I first started coming to this vet clinic I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately, they have not had consistent available doctors for over a year. I am not sure what is going on with the company or ownership. This place did save my dog and had my 100% trust, but I could not say the same today.
I am not blaming any individual or manager because I know there is a veterinary shortage and veterinarians are getting paid more money for temp work. With all this being said, look for a clinic with stability and that is getting harder to find.

Lakeway Vet clinic has been taking care of our Lagatto Romagnolo for several years. Despite the change in ownership and staff, they have sustained first class, professional, and caring services. I highly recommend them without any reservation.

Always great care. I live out in Elgin and still make the drive out to Lakeway for my pets because they’re that good. I absolutely trust this team.

This was a great Veterinary practise when I first took my puppy to them November 2021. Now there is a severe lack of Veterinary staff, reduction of overnight emergency hours and elimination of weekend hours, and elimination of boarding and grooming services. When I called February 16 needing my dog to be seen for an emerging ear infection requiring to start treatment before the weekend, they didn't even have a single vet in the office that Thurs or Fri and couldn't schedule my dog until 17 days later. Nor would they allow me to pick-up ear ointment to start him on treatment. I had to go to an urgent vet instead. I certainly can not recommend this business to others as it stands now and will be looking for a new vet.

Our dog was taken to this clinic on a Friday by a neighbor that used the clinic. Our dog was not eating and was vomiting. The dog was in their care less than 24 hours - received no surgery, no scans, just some blood work. Our bill was close to $2000. I found this to be outrageous based on just receiving bloodwork and a vet exam. The same bloodwork at our vet was just over $100. I tried to negotiate a bit but there was no discussion. I felt like we were really taken advantage of because our home vet was closed and we didn't want to wait until after the weekend. We probably would have done better at the emergency clinic. Furthermore, we were told no side effects to the medication our dog was put on - not true at all.

I'm extremely disappointed with this veterinary clinic. After 5 years as a loyal customer, they refused to sell me my dog’s routine heart worm medicine without an appointment, and then told me no appointments were available. They even sent me an email letting me know it was time for the annual check up and included a booking link that, wait for it….didn't work. They basically told me indirectly they no longer wanted my business and weren't interested in treating my dog anymore. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of regard for loyal customers and pet care.I would look elsewhere for reliable pet care.

WARNING WARNING!!! YOU HAVE CHOICES..This place is aweful !!!I brought my dog that had white gums and can barely move . They kept him all night the next morning they told me to come get him.. they told me he was fine.. when I picked him up and I paid $550 I took him out to my car his gums were still white and he still couldn't walk.. he had poop all over the back of his legs and catheters still left in his arm ..I had to go back into the clinic to have them remove the catheters .. they were very rude about doing it ..I immediately took him to my vet who called another emergency vet they diagnosed him in 30 minutes with a bursted tumor and heart failure.. the vet that that diagnosed him asked me why he even ever left Lakeway Vet Hospita..l he should have been put down there ..I have left several reviews about this and they keep disappearing ..my dog was 8 years old his name was Oliver in the last years of his life were at Lakeway vet where he sat in a box with poop all over himself .and then I asked for a refund and they wouldn't give me one.. The vet that diagnosed my dog told me my dog needed to be put to sleep immediately.. I took him back to my vet and they put him down. This went on from 7:30 in the morning when I picked up my dog from Lakeway vet till noon when I finally put my dog down.. that was the last hours of his life.. I am traumatized by these people I have bad dreams because of what my dog went through before he died.. if you had a good experience here it's because you were fortunate One That Got Away.. I've been dealing with vets for 30 years and this is the worst experience I've ever had please seek other vet care for your animals.

Disappointed to here you will be ending after hour and emergency care. Every other ER vet I'm gone to has just been a disaster and I wish you would just raise your prices because I know at least what I'm getting is worth it rather then going to some other ER or animal hospital

I am extremely sadden to hear that you will no longer be offering emergency and hospital hours. I love this place I've taken my pet here so many times in the middle of the night and I have no clue where I'll go and be treated the way I was here. Every other emergency vet I've been to is a chaotic mess that's poorly managed and cost a absurd amount to just be told to go home. Truly devated and no clue what I'll do.

New ownership and management has led to an increase in nickel and diming as well as a worse experience. In search of a new vet after many happy years here.

I took my guinea pig to Lakeway Vet for redness and bleeding on his leg. They cleaned the area, said it was a scratch, and sent me home with antibiotics. Turns out he had ringworm, which another of my guinea pigs contracted before I could get it properly diagnosed at Research Pet and Bird Hospital. I do not recommend Lakeway Vet for small pets/exotics.
