I am an elite member and stay in Marriott properties 35-45 nights a year, primarily international. This is a nice enough hotel, bit dated but okay. The hot water was warm at best. Staff interactions were pleasant.Just way over priced for what was an average stay but that is the Marriott Bonvoy domestic product. Would have had a similar experience at a Holiday Inn Express. The room 3, the staff 5, the food 3 priced as though a 5, location 5. There are a lot of hotels within blocks of each other so a lot of choices.

The rooms here are great and very clean. My complaint would be the fitness center. They have 3 treadmills and all were out of order. There no fans and even though they had a water dispenser, they had no cups. I did report it and hopefully will correct the issues.

This hotel is an amazing hotel that is centrally located in downtown Houston. The staff here is by far one of the best I've ever experienced, from the front desk to the executive Sous Chef, all of them are phenomenal. The rooms are great with comfortable beds and very nice views. The food in the restaurant was excellent and you can tell the kitchen is proud of what they create. This hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The valet price is a little high but there are other options to lark your car long term. This is now my families go to hotel everytime we visit Houston

The positives include location (if you want to stay downtown), the free cookies and delicious cookies at reception and some of the friendly staff. The negatives are the dysfunctional gym where all treadmills were broken for the duration of the week, dated equipment, barely any weights; a lady staff member at front desk who was exceptionally rude for no reason; and generally a dated hotel in need of an upgrade.Rooms: Spacious but dated and stuffy.

Nice rooms. But they closed the bar and restaurant 3 of the 4 nights I was here for private parties. Annoying that you can’t meet coworkers for a drink after the conference. They shouldn’t advertise services that they regularly close. Also not a fan of the Pepsi products only. Diet Pepsi is NOT Diet Coke! Overall disappointing stay.

Horrible Hotel Service & Horrible Valet Service!! I had my vehicle parked with the valet here on 11/05/2023. When I came back to get my vehicle, it was already at the front of the hotel when I hadn't even asked for my car yet. When i was going to the front to ask for my keys, the valet attendant tells me that there was an accident and someone hit my car. I was told that they are not responsible for the damages because this hotel only has basic coverage when it comes to their valet. Do not come here if you want to have your car damaged and be told that they are not responsible. The hotel said they would not do anything about it.

I had a chance to visit this location while attending The Reunion Concert at the Toyota Center. It was my first visit to Houston. Great location and service by the front desk and valet staff. A huge shout out to Northern for going above and beyond to accommodate my friend and I with the room change to experience an amazing view of the area. Although our first room was nicer and larger, the view from our room change was worth the change. I plan to return to this location in the future when visiting Houston.Rooms: There were a few minor concerns with the bathroom. The sink in the bathroom had a slow drain, the toilet ran for a little longer after flushing and it took a little longer for the hot water to heat in the shower.Walkability: Very convenient to The Toyota Center and food options.

was here to stay a couple nights for a friend's wedding (the reception was held here) and the stay was pretty enjoyable. rooms are clean, pretty big, with nice views of Houston. valet is pretty expensive but I'm not used to staying at fancy hotels so maybe $45 a day is normal for valet parking in a city (the parking lot across the street is $16 a day or something, nice & secure as well)

We had an amazing time at the Magnolia. Everything is beautifully appointed, the staff were friendly and attentive, the room was great and the bed was comfortable. The roof offers gorgeous views - I recommend taking a beverage up there to hang out for a bit. I loved my interactions with Northon Holiday who made me feel welcomed and important as well as being incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I look forward to staying again and sending others as well!

Quaint, Historical looking building with cool lobby. The interiors are little worn out, but not bad place. Slightly expensive to stay, EXTREMELY expensive for Valet Parking. Internet was really bad in the room itself - had to use my phone.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this very thoughtfully appointed hotel. I enjoy staying in boutique hotels like this, especially buildings with character like this one. This hotel has valet parking only at the sum of about $39 a night which is not too terrible for downtown Houston. The parking garage is located very close by if you need to go to your car to grab something. I enjoyed the convenience of Marriott's mobile check-in and the ability to have a digital hotel key which prevented me from having to get new keys and I left my keys up in the room. The staff were very kind and friendly and we're very responsive using the chat feature on the app. They allowed me to check in early and check out late since The conference I was in town for ran a little late. The hotel itself was very nicely appointed and I found the rooms to be very comfortable and luxurious. I like to sleep in almost complete darkness and I found that the blackout curtains in the room did their jobs very nicely despite all of the lights of the city. I really enjoyed the large soaking tub that I used all three nights I was there. The milk and cookies in the lobby starting at 8:00 p.m. is an extra nice touch and that too I utilized all three nights I was there. The rooftop pool was small and is only about 3 ft deep. The hot tub is a nice addition, but That's more of a warm tub and the jets were a bit weak which was my only complaint about my entire stay. I enjoyed the location and it's proximity to lots of different things downtown including the nearby convention center (about a 10 minute walk) as well as lots of different restaurants and a CVS pharmacy if you run out of supplies. The Hotel itself is in a pretty decent part of town and I felt very safe walking around in the night time hour. I would definitely return and stay at this charming hotel again.Rooms: Well appointed rooms with carpeted floors, large soaking tubs, a refrigerator, coffee maker with Starbucks coffee, along with a TV, and work desk.Nearby activities: The convention center is very nearby as well as minute maid Field, which you can peer into ever so slightly when you're on the rooftop.Safety: The hotel was in a pretty safe location. There were a few homeless people sleeping around the corner from the hotel But this is expected in downtown Houston.Walkability: Lots of restaurants, bars, churches, and stores in close proximity

These reviews did not match my experience at all and I could not have been more disappointed. I'm an elite bonvoy member, travel often, and rarely have a poor hotel experience. Considering this hotel had nice reviews and great ratings within the bonvoy system, I figured this would easily be a great experience. It was anything but a good experience. The check-in staff just did not want to be at work. They were unnecessarily rude to a point I even looked around to make sure I wasn't being filmed for a prank show or something. There was never milk and cookies. The pool was closed. The beds and pillows were, like the check-in process, unbelievably uncomfortable. Not uncomfortable like too plush or too firm, uncomfortable like lumpy and old. The hotel building is from 1926, apparently the bed was too.I did not eat there. The restaurant looked nice enough though.Yes, the location is good if you have to stay downtown but there are many great neighborhoods in Houston to choose from.I've stayed at lower rated hotels in downtown Houston that should have been rated 4 stars, then I stay here and it should be a 2 star rated hotel.Travelers beware. I do not recommend this hotel if you have to stay in Downton Houston. Also after writing this review I found pending duplicate charges from the hotel. Hopefully the charges won't clear my credit card, but the staff mistakenly charged me hundreds.Noteworthy details: Travelers beware.

Valet parking upon check out very very slow.approx 40 min to get my car that was parked behind the hotel and attendance given plenty of time to retrieve my vehicle. Rooms nice but bathroom.door should open out and not in due to limited room with door open. Beds were right next to door. Nice location for Astros game and Catholic church down the street. Restaurant's close by also.

Historic old newspaper building converted into a hotel conveniently located in downtown Houston. The pool on the 23rd floor is small but has a great view and a good number of chairs and some cabanas to lounge. My spacious king studio room had a nice view of the city with a Texas antique chic vibe.

Fresh cookies and milk in the lobby at night, giant bathtub in each room, and a rooftop pool connected to the gym… need I say more?! Great spot to stay for a business trip, walkable to the convention center which is what brought me to Houston. Would stay again!
