this place is amazing, the animals look so well taken care of, all so sweet. shoutout to uncle mike for the wonderful service and the wise words. he really made a good input on what to think about before adopting an animal.

Big shoutout to “Uncle” Mike! I could not describe a more purrrfect adoption experience! ❤️ As soon as my family walked in, we were greeted with open arms and smiling faces. He was more than happy to help us find our little additions to the family. You can tell the dedication and care he puts into helping find these littles their furever homes. He is the epitome of going above and beyond. Walter, another officer, was also a huge help in visitation while we were waiting to take the smallest of the bunch home. I’ve been raving to anyone who will listen about this place and Mike in particular. I’ve even applied to become a volunteer. ?? If you’re looking for a rescue or want to help out a shelter, this is definitely a great place!

I recently had to surrender my dog because I was unable to financially support/give my dog the proper care while my daughter was in the hospital. I received a call from Mike today asking questions about the dog. He gave me the impression thst they needed more infor so they could adopt her out. He then finished the conversation by saying they had to put her down today. He then said there's some closure for you in a very rude tone. No compassion at all and the dog was only there for less than a week. I can't believe they would call and tell me that. I am still in shock on why I was even called.

First off, I’am not the person to leave negative reviews! But, Chris was very rude. From the moment I walked in, Poor customer service. I found puppies and their Mom on the side of a busy street.A 50 mph street. One puppy was already rant over looks like from days ago. I did not want this incident to reoccur. Only reason I stopped because i thought it was a raccoon or something crossing the street, as I slowed down I’am like “omg it’s a puppy!!! “ I then noticed the dog mom and another puppy on the side (someone must have dropped them off) I stopped traffic and loaded them into my car and searched for the nearest shelter and took them here. Chris showed no sympathy, just plain rude! Look like he took all his frustration out on me, witch I understand how many drops off’s there are on a daily basis. I was just simply trying to help out.The other guy apologized for him and manager reached out to me to apologize. Chris needs better manners! Thank you to Kaufman shelter they took care of the dogs without any hesitation!

What a great place. They really do a great job with their whole operation. I recently adopted a dog. They were thorough in questioning me to make sure I wasn't a bad person that they would be sending a dog home with me. They also made sure my current dog was a good fit with my new perspective dog. You should adopt from the shelter and rescue these wonderful animals.

I went to adopt a dog on a Saturday. The two people that helped me could not have been more helpful or friendly! I can't even say enough about them! And the dog I adopted is so cute and lovable. Thank you so much!!

Great visit today w/ the coordinator Sherry (I hope I spelled her named correctly). I was shown parts of the facility where the animals are held. She let me know about the volunteer opportunities available & upcoming fundraising they are doing in the community. It was a great first visit. The animals looked well looked after.

We came in on a Friday to inquire about a pet for adoption, a staff member told me and my family to come back on Monday and we would be able to get him. We did exactly what we was supposed to do. When we got there the facility was closed. A different Staff member told us the pet was given to another family the day after we left. And they are closed on Mondays.This is/was very discouraging because me and my family had our hopes up and was looking forward to this. Would not recommend or return.

Amazing shelter that cares about the animals. They are super helpful if you've lost a pet.

This shelter does not uthenize animals unless they are gravely ill. We really enjoy volunteering here!
