Wow ? The most knowledgeable staff about every item in the store. They have the most wonderful antiques. We bought a beautiful console to go in the dining room. We had our eyes on a few other things, we will likely be calling to scoop those up as well. I can’t wait to be back in dallas to check their inventory out again.

Inessa Stewart’s Antiques is a wonderland of beauty. I’ve bought several paintings and many furniture pieces from Inessa, most recently an exquisitely carved antique desk. She has an incredible eye for quality and I’m always excited to see what treasures she finds on her regular trips to France and Italy. Whether shopping in their beautiful stores - in Baton Rouge or Dallas - or on their website, service is always impeccable!

After visiting the store in Baton Rouge, LA I went to Dallas to browse. I didn't think that experience would be as wonderful as it was. Walking thru the store I was approached by Inessa and she showed me things and pointed out all kinds of special items. When we finished out tour of the store Inessa introduced me John Stewart, her husband and he was as helpful and Inessa. Enjoyed my visit and have picked out a few pieces that I want for my home.

I made the mistake of purchasing a French armoire from Inessa Stewart's Antiques & Interiors after seeing it online. It was shipped out of their Baton Rouge, Louisiana location. Upon its delivery I was appalled by the condition of the piece. I've purchased antiques before and am aware of what to expect with a piece that old, but the armoire's condition was well below reasonable standards, as in falling apart. For example, the locks on the doors were misaligned and would not close, and the front and side panels were severely cracked and split from top to bottom. I paid in full for the armoire before its delivery as their policy requires.

I made the mistake of purchasing a French armoire from Inessa Stewart's Antiques & Interiors after seeing it online. Their Baton Rouge, Louisiana store shipped it. Upon its delivery, I was appalled by the condition of the piece. I've purchased antiques before and am aware of what to expect with an antique that old, but the armoire was well below reasonable standards, as in falling apart. For example, the locks on the doors were misaligned, mismatched, and would not close, and the front and side panels were severely cracked and split into from top to bottom. I paid in full for the armoire before its delivery as their policy requires. The young man who delivered it said that he delivered for Inessa Stuart frequently and that he had never seen an item released to a customer in such deplorable condition. He said, "This armoire would never have left their Dallas store in this condition." I rejected the piece and returned it to their Dallas store. An employee of the Dallas store, Terry, and I had a few conversations about the armoire's condition, and she admitted that they should not ship it to the customer in that shape. She recommended that I come to the store and see it after repairs and restoration. I never did see it as a trip to their store would be a very long distance for me to drive. I had doubts about the armoire's salvageability. Terry said once the repairs were made they would sell it for more than the amount I paid for it. This morning I called the store to advise them that I had decided against that piece, but that I would like to visit their store in the future to choose a different armoire. I spoke with John Stewart. He could not have been more rude, abrasive, and unprofessional. He told me in harsh tones that the item was beautiful after many hours of work done "on my behalf." I told him that the repairs were not made "on my behalf" because the armoire was not a viable piece to be sold in its prior condition. I asked him to issue a refund. John Stewart hung up on me. A few minutes later I called back to talk to Inessa Stewart. Mr. Stewart would not allow me to speak with her. I asked him when I could expect the refund. He said, "I don't know, it has to go through a comptroller!", and he hung up on me again. I've purchased several pieces from Inessa Stewart. But this is the first time a transaction did not go as expected and warranted a refund. I thought I had been dealing with a trustworthy store. However, if Inessa Stewart's store delivers a piece of junk, and you have paid for it in full, you are in for an unexpected stressful time. The ownership's position is that he could not care less if the customer is satisfied with a purchase or not. The attitude and arrogance of John Stewart are not what one would expect while attempting to do business in good faith. As an interior decorator, I do business with many different vendors and suppliers. But never have I had the misfortune of dealing with an entity whose owner reacts with quick disrespect and hostility toward the client. Be cautious in dealing with this store and especially John Stewart. Or better yet, purchase from one of the many other professional antique dealers.

Didn't even make it into the store. One of their employees backed into my car on my way to go look at their collection and cussed me out even though they were in the wrong, backing out onto Dragon street with traffic going both ways. Said it was my job to stop. Will never do business with them and telling all my friends in the design industry to NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. BEWARE.

Great French Antiques! If you desire furniture that is 100 plus years old with exceptional quality that will last forever this is our first choice in Dallas. The owner was a very nice man and extremely knowledgeable. Today even the highest ranked brands of furniture have been outsourced to other countries. We are collectors and love the hand craftmanship and sheer weight of these pieces and the history.
