the 99 cent store is a great place to shop if you're looking for holiday and party supplies. much better than dollar tree or family general...and cheaper than the party supply stores. obviously it's a limited selection, but it's pretty good. The store is really big, open, bright. There's also a decent selection of toys and random stuffs. i don't really shop for food here, but it looks like they have a good amount of produce, canned, and boxed goods. similar to ALDI. the service here is pretty slow. there's usually only 1 register open, and not a ton of attendants around....but i mean...you're at a 99 cent store. i dunno about you, but my standards are pretty low going in.

My family and I were just in there it 10/4/19 it was literally ONE cashier lane open and at least thirty people in the line. This was about 2pm after picking up my kid's. It's a sad shame to only have one register opened during peak hours. It's the same in the morning time also. This store is a convenient location to run in and get what I need BUT, the inconvenience is NOT enough registers!

Thanks to the Asst Mgr, Cindy, I am in search of a new location. She is the RUDEST, LAZIEST worker I've ever seen. I had ONE item and she refused to check me out. Instead she claimed she had been calling over the OTHER woman in black. HUH? So, I got out of line and went to a different register, run by a very nice woman. AND BONUS? I was checked out, out of the store and in my car BEFORE the lady in black!

I went in this store a month ago and Mohammed was waiting on me. He treated me rudely and in a discriminatory manner. I had bottled water on the counter. I said hello when it was my turn he ignored me. He spoke with smiles and using the term "brother" to the Mexican people before and behind me in line. He wouldn't even pull my water over to the check out side of the conveyor belt for me to pay. To the side where you bag items. He looked at me with hostility and told me the price. I paid and left. I sent in a survey form the receipt complaining about his racist behavior towards me and someone emailed me to call them but I have been mega busy and didn't have the time to talk about another racist discriminatory episode in this janky neighborhood. It's too Ghetto so I will stick with my stores in Carollton. I am so sick of these Trumpster loving racists!

This 99 Cent store is located by I-635, US-75 and the Dallas National Tollway. A staple in California is making moves in Texas. A great place for bargains and your daily necessities. Larger inside with plenty of items. Some items are priced above 99 cents. Not really a place to shop in bulk but for those looking to save a few dollars in one way or another. Highly recommended.

Visited the store today Monday, June 5 around noon. Gets a 1 star only because they have poor guest service the one cashier I got was so rude and unfriendly she wasn't wearing a name tag but my receipt has her name as Jacqueline she's older women mid 50s well nice makeup done with long black hair and bangs she looked mad and unhappy working there. Beside that the store is good fair prices.

You don't go to stores such as this for the atmosphere or customer service. So, expect old linoleum flooring, spotty fluorescent lighting, and long waits at the checkout counter. But, you will find bargains in abundance. My favorites include: Natural Light beer Lindeman wine Mrs. Baird's Wheat and Honey Wheat breads Thomas' English muffins Progresso and Healthy Choice soups Nescafe' coffee Milk Minute Maid OJ Bathroom toilet rolls With the exception of the breads, these items are consistently stocked. In the produce section, I've purchased the following with no ill effects. They are listed here in consistently-fresh order: Iceberg and Romaine lettuces Celery Yellow and green zucchini Onion Sweet potato Grapes Bell peppers Roma tomatoes As others have mentioned, you've got to be able to tell the difference between ripe and overripe bordering on rotten. I've only encountered an occasional weak offering on the last three items, but where else can you get bell peppers 2 for 99 cents? This location recently added signs hung overhead each isle that are easy-to-read, which was a nice touch.

I actually really like this store. I can do weekly grocery shopping here for a family of 2 for $50 or less and stock up for weeks. I usually get meat and fish and the other regular store. However, this store is great for snacks, lunches, some fruits, canned veggies and beans. I got a watermelon here and my boyfriend loved it. They have tea, coffee, yogurt, cheese, lunch meats, and all sorts of things. The produce I would say select carefully, but I love this place! Saves me a TON of money. If I bought all of the things I buy here at the Tom Thumb, it would cost about 5 times more to feed 2 people.
