Edit: Despite this bad experience, Valvoline has failed to reach out to discuss this. It's concerning that they feel that this level of customer service is acceptable. My experience was deeply unsatisfying. Initially, I was optimistic after discussing services and pricing with Tommy, the friendly manager at Valvoline Express, who offered me a reasonable quote for mechanical work.In my first visit, I waited 15 minutes with no service when Tommy finally emerged from his office and helped me. He did provide great service after that and apologized for the wait, which I greatly appreciated. However, my next visit to the shop fell even more short of expectations. Upon arrival, I encountered an employee I was told was "the mechanic" who seemed more interested in phone calls than attending to a customer staring him in the face, even blatantly ignoring me after finishing his conversation. This disregard was especially distressing given my urgent need for the mechanical work, compounded by personal challenges including placing my father in Hospice care. I needed a reliable mechanic to make sure my vehicle is in tip top shape for all of the driving I'll be doing taking care of my father during this time. The indifference shown to me made me feel invisible and highly disrespected as a customer, leaving me with no desire to go there again.

For around 15 years+, I used to always go to this location for inspections and oil changes due to how convenient they are to where I live; not the absolute greatest price for their services, but you'd spend the difference and endure a lot more frustration trying to go elsewhere just to find "slightly" better prices.Well, I won't be going back there anymore after what happened to me today. I went in for my annual inspection, and they tell me "we're not doing inspections today because it's raining, and it will affect the braking test".Seriously? You're not going 75mph down the highway, you're in a TINY parking lot going at most 10 - 15 mph. So that's a crock. They just didn't want to do it because it was cold & rainy and they wanted to stay huddled up inside the garage area so that it LOOKS like they're working.I've been driving for well over 30 years, and I've never heard such a line of drivel in my life when trying to get an inspection done...and yes, that includes getting them done while it's raining. But then again, I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised...this is also the same place that when I last took my truck here for an oil change, they tried to tell me "your cabin air filter needs to be replaced once a month, it will cost $40". You can buy a 2-pack of those cabin air filters for around $15, and they only need to be changed every 12k miles or 12 months! I may have been born at night, but it sure wasn't LAST night.... Id10ts....Oh well, you lost at least 1 customer, and I hope this review helps to warn others not to waste their time with this place.

Nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Quick turnaround times for oil changes.I would recommend the staff to check with the customer first on which oil change service they want to go with.

I can not recommend this place enough! The owner.. an older gentleman named Tommy.. VERY kind and personable. As a lady that lacks car knowledge, I never fear they will take advantage of me, try to do more work than necessary, or overcharge me. They have always done excellent work. 10/10 recommend!

So I always go to Valveline for great service. Since we were going to Bryan, we decided to just get it done here. The 1st thing they did was make us get out of the vehicle. I thought this was weird since all the ones I go to let's you stay in the truck. That way, they show you your air filters and ask if you want your tires topped off. Just above and beyond at other places. This place wasn't about that kinda customer service, but no big deal. The real problem was when we discovered they didn't put the oil cap on right, and we lost most of the oil. It was dangerously low. I would not go back to this place. Don't take chances with your motor.

I find it puzzling why some car repair shops in this town engage in such unethical behavior. My recent experience at Volvoline Express Oil Change left me deeply disappointed. Initially, I believed Tommy, the owner, to be a genuine and trustworthy person, but as events unfolded, it became evident that he was far from it.My visit to Volvoline involved having engine mounts installed, and after their work, my car was shaking even worse than before. This was despite the fact that I had supplied them with top-of-the-line parts. Their incompetence became apparent as they mishandled these high-quality components. Despite my misgivings, I reluctantly accepted their subpar service.Soon after, I noticed an issue with the wheel bearing they had installed. It was making an unsettling noise while I was driving, and when I brought it up the next day, they attempted to attribute it to a rotor problem, which I later discovered wasn't the case. It seems they were trying to mislead me as part of their apparent scam. They claimed to have fixed it by applying some grease and other quick fixes. However, my unease persisted as I continued to drive my car, which I had been familiar with for the past five years. Something was definitely off. Seeking a second opinion, I consulted another mechanic who unequivocally stated that the wheel bearing installed by Tommy's team at Volvoline was subpar work and could pose a serious risk to both my family's safety and my car's well-being. He even demonstrated the significant difference in the wheel's stability.Suddenly, everything started making sense. The noise from the wheel on the same day of installation wasn't some unrelated issue, as Volvoline had claimed; it was a direct consequence of their shoddy workmanship. When I confronted Tommy about this, he admitted the part was indeed faulty. However, my frustration grew as I asked why they had put my family and me at risk by failing to identify the issue when it went bad or conduct a proper inspection before returning the car to me. The car was already compromised, but they chose not to inform me and allowed me to drive it, jeopardizing my family's safety. In an attempt to rectify the situation and be fair to Tommy and his establishment, I offered to pay for a replacement part, even though I had initially provided them with the best quality Timken part. Shockingly, Tommy insisted that I should also cover the labor costs, despite the mess they had made of my car.At this point, I decided to take my car home, frustrated and disappointed. I asked Tommy for written confirmation of the faulty part, but he continued to make excuses, refusing to provide the evidence I sought. This strongly indicated an unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistakes and an alarming priority on profit over customer safety.I hope that there is some mechanism in place to hold businesses like Volvoline accountable for their actions, ensuring that they don't put people's lives at risk for the sake of their bottom line. My advice to anyone reading this is to steer clear of this establishment, especially for any significant car repairs. The workers here seem to lack the necessary skills and integrity for the job. Even after I had shown respect and offered to pay for a new part, they continued to try to exploit the situation by charging for labor and avoiding any written acknowledgment of their substandard work, all while endangering my family's safety.Another mechanic I consulted later confirmed that the work done by Tommy's team was not only shoddy but also potentially dangerous. It's disheartening to encounter such unethical and inconsiderate individuals in the world.

Doesn't this business realize that a first impression tells how you do business ? This place needs to be cleaned up. The landscaping, lawn and parking lot need a lot of attention. I am a big believer in indepent businesses and Vavoline products. But, I will not patronize any business that does not take pride in their business. If it your landlord that is responsible for the appearance you should point it out to them.

I want to start by saving WOW!!!We had our oil changed at a local competitor and they indicated we needed multiple services performed. It was going to be very pricey for the 3 services so I did a quick Google search of other places and stumbled upon Valvoline Express. I read the great reviews and my husband and I drove over to give it a try. I will have to agree with another reviewer - the condition of the property took me aback and made me a little nervous as the grass was overgrown and the parking lot seemed unkempt but that’s where anything bad about this location stops. We were greeted by Lance and told him the 3 services we had been told we “needed.” He promptly said well let’s take a look and be sure you really need those services. He came back in and said - y’all are good to go you don’t need anything. What????? Who does this?? You mean you aren’t going to take advantage of us and do the services anyway?? Absolutely in shock. I asked to shake his hand as he gave me a small glimpse of what kindness and honestly look like that seems to not be the norm these days. This establishment earned a customer for life - looking forward to my oil change - see you in 5k! Thank you for being awesome!!

they did good so far but whenever I take out car from them it smells like sh*t. first time it was smelling like oil. second time as if someone crapped in the car. I have never seen any car repair garage giving me car with some weird smell in the car. I will never go to them. Last time my car was smelling so bad that I couldn't even sit into and had to take it to Cleaning. Something weird with their workers or place.
