“Spring Frost has the most unique selection of clothing and accessories in Austin! It’s my go-to place for denim (they often have brands like Frame, Mother, etc) and dressy occasions. It’s full cutting edge fashion designers you can’t find anywhere else in town, most of which is at a discount. Because of that, they have both great deals and phenomenally unique pieces. I’ve chatted with their buyer about how they periodically go to shows in New York to scout new brands, and the variety in their shop shows. My favorite piece I’ve purchased from them is a silk dress covered in photographs of 1960s celebs. Spring and co always help pull pieces when I’m looking for something specific — like the personal shopper of my dreams. They now have in-house alterations too! If you love fashion and wish there was an alternative one-stop-shop to a big department store, Spring Frost is it!”

“I had ordered two pairs of shoes online and had to return/exchange both since the sizing was off. (Side note: All their shoes are beautifully made - just know that you're not going to get consistent sizing across all styles with truly handmade shoes. So best to try on in person if possible!) Anyhow, doing a return of $400 of merchandise is stressful to begin with and sometimes shopkeepers seem exasperated in such circumstances. This time it was super simple: I tried on many shoes, found a pair I liked and was instantly refunded for the difference between that and the first two pairs. And maintained a discount I'd used the go around. Best of all, the shopkeeper was so patient and friendly. I went in wearing sweatpants and looking fairly disheveled, so I was honestly prepared for the snotty treatment that can be par for the course at high end store. Instead she was warm and helpful.”

They don't have the largest selection of shoes or variety of brands, but you can tell the stock they have is all about quality and optimizing performance(Brands: On, Hoka, Brooks, New Balance, etc. Not seen: Nike).I stopped by for the Feet Scanning technology and was quite impressed. I gained some insightful information about my feet and walking patterns--knowledge is power! The representative provided recommendations based on my results, offering a nice mix of options to try. After an initial short interaction, the consultant was pretty patient, personable, and didn't pressure me into making any impulse purchases. Despite normally wearing a 9.5, they suggested I size up to 10, which was surprising given my heel-to-toe length on my larger foot is 9.4. My 9.5 shoes often feel too big so I wouldn't go with the recommended 10's.”
