Edes Meat Market is a hidden gem for meat lovers. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with samples of their delicious meats and sauces. I recently purchased 10 pounds of ground beef (individually wrapped) from Edes Meat located on Hillside. I have used 3 pounds of it at different meals. Just maybe I got a bad batch, but we found the meat to be substandard. I'm not sure what filler they use if any or whether they are just throwing in every scrap piece of meat consisting of gristle, tendon, connective tissue, fat, etc. but eating this meat was just plain gross. I could actually feel all these gross pieces of meat as I attempted to chew it. We ended up throwing out the meal. We wasted the ingredients to include our time and effort. As a young man, I worked in a meat market. We also added filler to our hamburger meat. The amount of filler/scrap pieces of this meat seem to be excessive in this situation. Considering how costly food is these days; this should have never happened.

Very Nice store, lots of meat, including some exotic like alligator, ostrich, elk, and bison.... they have lots of fresh cut meat and will cut whatever thickness you would like, Everyone there was very helpful and very nice.

Edes is my go-to for meat, the meats they butcher are locally sourced and they will butcher meat you bring them.

Every time I've gone we've gotten less back. The first lamb we sent a couple years ago came back as 3 boxes. The last time we sent 3 lambs and got back 1 box each, and one box was 1/4 soup bones. One of my sister in laws sent a lamb after being warned and got the box back with no shoulders.

Not too busy for time were shopping for 4th of July weekend. Had nice selection of meats from roll, racks and bundles of different meats...beef, pork, chicken etc. Had display counter where you could choose meat by smaller portions. All employees were helpful in answering questions for service plus wrapping meat by portion size requested for easier prep time at home. Have always appreciated this part of their service to customer.

With the prices I can get the same stuff and quality from Walmart at half the price y'all's meet best be made of gold or diamond with the quantity you have to pay for just to get a decent amount omfg
