I stayed 3 weeks at Stallworth and I was immensely impressed with the quality of care I received and the expertise of the staff. The folks in OT and P T were outstanding and went above and beyond to help me develop strength and have skills to take home. The nursing staff was outstanding, especially Jim and Mary the wound care

I recently spent two weeks at Vanderbilt Stallworths Rehabilitation Hospital. This was the second time in seven years that I was in VSRH. There was a huge difference in the cleanliness, and professionalism this time. I was also treated with more respect. I got so much stronger in just a few days! I highly recommend the team I had, Mitchum ( PT), Annie Kate ( OT), The Drs., nurses, care providers and dieticians. All of the staff that I met were friendly and made me feel comfortable even in the most sensitive situations. I highly recommend VSRH.

I have been a patient at Stallworth on 3 different occasions in 2018, 2021 and 2022. Each time I had a wonderful experience. The doctors, nurses, therapist all gave me excellent care. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know and I have. Top notch place to be a patient at.

I did NOT have a pleasant stay here, unfortunately. I had transferred from VUMC after about 3 weeks there. I have never had anything bad happen over there, so I assumed (biggest mistake) that they would be up to par. There was some great people I met, including my case manager, and the OT and PT workers who busted their butts for me and others. But I was place right in front of the nurses station, and intentionally left my door open (the air wasn’t working) and BOY the things I heard. Certain nurses cutting up about this patient and that patient. I had to instruct someone TRAINING that you do, in fact, flush a piccline before and after messing with it after the trainer said “well sometimes I do it if I feel like it but it’s up to you.” I’ve personally been trained myself and that’s NOT how it goes. That’s just the beginning. The “supervisor” I think was her title, won’t say names, was also cutting up about patients. And she also promised a private room to be ready at a certain time for the family that I have (3 people) and no one knew about it which in turn mad my family upset because we only had a certain amount of time to visit. It is ran poorly, and that kitchen man, they need the best training because that food is… well… ???? I would steer clear, as I’m 35 and have a voice as to where most of the patients there are of the elder generation and just do what they are told, and probably afraid of saying something. I’m STILL waiting on my IV meds to be delivered….. which could land me right back in the hospital. And then t seems no one cares. Just weigh you options and then weigh them again.

I just recently got out of Stallworth it's a great place I was there for a below the knee amputation on my left leg and they really push you hard there, seriously I used to be so sore after coming back from the gym lol but it has really paid off the improvement I've experienced since arriving there is like daylight and dark

Just left this place the OT Mary and PT Bella were absolutely amazing. The biggest drawback was their supervisor who felt more like a boss than a healthcare provider.Terrible bedside manner, and I was not receptive to her way of working and all she seem to care about was getting billable hours in!

I couldn't walk when I arrived and within one week I was up and walking without aid devices. The physical therapy techs wereoutstanding in their knowledge and safety. The food could have been better but the facility was clean and staff attentive. I highlyrecommend this facility for anyone needing physical therapy.

Our experience at this facility was not in the least conducive to TBI healing and rehab. In fact, where we had progressed with TBI during hospitalization at VUMC quickly regressed and fell apart at Stallworth. We went from transferring and toileting well at arrival to lying for hours in cold, soiled adult pull-ups. Room temp was set at 55. Tried calling nurse, but call remote was unplugged from the wall. Wrapped in blanket and walked to neighboring bed away from windows, then was restricted to no getting out of bed and a 24/7 aide/watcher in the room, who did nothing to help and closed the curtain to avoid seeing us clean up soiled diapers ourselves. PT/OT was good, but fell extremely short overall in the nursing care needed for a TBI and sanitation requirements for post surgical with being forced to lay in soiled pull-ups for hours. Cell phone went missing on Day 4, but charging chord was neatly unplugged and wrapped atop the bedside table. Additionally an earache went unchecked for 3 days, after a doctor popped in and said he would return. Never came back, even though we asked 3 times. On day 5 we were readmitted through Vanderbilt ER with Staph and sepsis. This facility was negligent in nursing care and poorly slow in responding to tell tale signs that an infection was brewing. When transferred to the VUMC ER from Stallworth, was left sitting in a wheelchair, in a full ER waiting room, unaccompanied. Not the way any TBI patient should be discharged/discarded. The phone made its way back a week later to VUMC patient room. That’s about the best thing we can report of Stallworth. Should not be listed as a TBI resource!

My boyfriend's mother was transferred here and we figured that since it's Vanderbilt, it should be top care right? WRONG! The nursing staff is not only verbally abusive to it's patients, but the family of the staff as well! I honestly hope they don't treat their family members the same way they treat their patients. They are also very neglectful, as in they take forever to respond to any calls made. The amount of food given is not enough to feed a grown adult. I could go on more but...just don't send your loved one here. The nursing staff does not care and are just there for the paycheck.

They most definitely care about their patients and getting them back well! My father has been there for a week and they have worked with him in therapy 3+ hours, 5 days a week to get his leg/hip back to how it was before. I wish we would’ve brung him here instead of Nashville center of Rehabilitation and healing, that place is horrible! Stallworth thank you all so much!!!!!

I was there in January 2006, I had a massive stroke, I had to stay about 4 months, they took very good care of me, the staff was great and very understanding w/ my needs, all I know is I’m very lucky that I got to go there, I was so lost and scared trying to remember everything I had lost, my walking, talking everything, now I can walk(w/ a walker) and can talk, thank you for everything!! I don’t know if Kristie(speech therapist) is still there but she was great!!!!Robin Porter

I recently stayed at Stallworth for almost two weeks with a broken neck and central spinal cord injury. It was everything a rehab center should be. While everyone has a different personality, to a man all their employees were very kind and had a positive orientation, so important for this type of facility. All the nurses were great, including Angel, Lisa, Gabby and Stacie going the extra mile. The rehab area had a great dynamic and seemed to be very well ran with lots of smiling faces. Even the director of the facility stopped by to say hello. Thank you to everyone for your help!Excelsior !Shawn
