We stepped over a boat cruise and had a reservation for a car for one day. When we took the people mover all the over to the other side of the airport, went upstairs and over to the far side of the parking garage, we were told there were no cars available. I indicated we had a reservation. Well, the girl could have cared less. Our friends traveling with us had a rental through Hertz, so we went to the counter with them to Hertz and were able to secure a rental.

Do not go here! the staff told me they do not honor any reservation, it is just first come first serve. They had no car for us, no idea when we would get a car and when I offered to come back the next day they said they still could not guarantee a car. Wasted way to much of my precious vacation time dealing with their rude staff. Avoid at all costs, it is not worth it.

If it were possible, I would rate Thrifty lower! I made a reservation two week before my trip. Had a confirmation from Expedia. Upon arrival I was told that they had no cars and it would be a 3-4 hour wait. I asked what was the value of a reservation, but did not receive an answer. The attendant took my phone # and said I would be called when a car arrived. 3 1/2 hours later I asked where I was on the list and was told that the attendant had shouted my name, but did not know how to pronounce it. No attempt was made to call me, as stated. I missed a business meeting and did not arrive at my destination until much later than planned. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!

Horrible experience! They have so few cars in their fleet, but their app and web site keeps taking reservations without cars to fulfill them. Their staff has been reduced to the barest of minimum, expect long waits, rude counter representatives, and don't expect them to honor any pricing, car size or rates. They make it up as they go along. When I finally got a car..... it cost me an extra $25 per day! But wait, there's more. The interior reeked of the strong smell of recently smoked marijuana cigarette. No extra charge for that.

Had car issues and called customer service we're told to come and exchange car. Get to the location, the rep asked my husband what he wants, JUST LIKE THAT, he lets her know the problem and that we have confirmation #s she proceed to tell him she didn't care about that, and where were we coming from (Texas) and she states "yeah we're not doing any exchange" at this point I'm feeling she was being racist. So we contact customer service and found a different solution because the customer service was honestly disgusting. Please take note on the reviews. Customer service didn't suck at Bush int airport in Texas but Memphis location -5 if I could.

Didn't honor my reservation. Made no attempt to provide me with any recourse. Just said "you didn't prepay, so you can just cancel". Left me stuck in the airport for two hours waiting on someone to come pick me up. Absolute trash customer service.

We had a reservation and had to wait hours before getting our car and almost didn't get one because they ran out. Luckily the employees working were able to get us one. Positive part of the experience was the employees working, Kaylitha and Kiyashi. They are the reason we got a car at the last minute, would've been stranded without them. Thank you ladies so much!!

I would never ever ever at all cost use your company. We were set to rent A car from you only to be waiting at the airport for over an hour after our plane had landed. And ended up canceling a reservation and using enterprise for our rental car need. You how are a pathetic company to keep people waiting that long on vacation. And not even explaining yourself. Customer service my a**. I'm letting everyone know about your terrible service. I don't even want to give one star. They deserve a pail of crap.

I will never ever forever recommend this company for a rental car. At All cost. Do not rent with them. They had my family waiting over an hour for a car rental. We are on vacation and the car should have been ready once our flight landed. But had us waiting for over an hour. Time I could have be spent enjoying my vacation. Very unprofessional and was never told that there was not cars to be had. This was something out of a Seinfeld episode. Only this time it was Not funny. And canceled the car and went with Enterprise car rental. I repeat DO NOT RENT A CAR WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Thrifty rental car is terrible!! Never rent from them. The Memphis Airport Thrifty has their customers waiting outside in the heat. The Minivan was dirty! They charge for a spouse as an additional driver!! The staff is unprofessional!

My wife had a compact car reserved at Thrifty in Memphis. She arrived on time (3 p.m.). Thrifty agent said that there were no compact cars available, and that my wife would have to wait one and 1/2 hours. Finally, the agent gave her a mid-sized car for an additional $30.00 per day. This is grossly unfair to customers who have valid reservations. Thrifty should give customers "whatever is on the lot" at no additional cost. The customers haven't caused Thrifty's problems and shouldn't be expected to pay a penalty for Thrify's mistakes. I booked the Thrifty car through Priceline. They offered no choice of rental car brands. Just Thrifty. I'll know not to book this way again.

Trust the reviews. In the middle of my reservation the agent took a smoke break. I knew I was in trouble. I had to wait an hour for them to "find the key". It was 90 degrees in the parking lot. When I inquired about the car she yelled at me. For the love of God, I will never book here again.

This is my second negative experience at this location. my flight was delayed and by the time I got in the thrifty was closed. I came back the next morning to pick up my rental car and was told no cars are available and that the waiting list is 3 pages long. my toddler and I have been waiting here for over 3 hours. customer service is terrible. get corporate in here ASAP. find staff that cares about customers. and the girl at the front counter with box braids today was sitting in the corner smoking weed. this is a 0 star reviewZ
