tldr; HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE DECENT DEALS. I went into this place for the first time today and thought it was going to be massive, given the size of the building but while it wasn't that big they had a large selection of items. I will admit I had a preconceived notion that this was a locally owned, southern run mom and pop kind of establishment, and as a such I expected a great deal of hospitality. When I first entered i saw several people working and not a single person greeted me and we were the only ones in the store. I finally found something I was Interested in and I took time researching if it was a decent deal. When It finally came time to purchase the item, they were appalled that I asked for a better deal and even a warranty or guarantee for an electronic item. They also seemed irritated that I asked for it to be plugged in to verify that it works. I didn't expect a discount or a warranty but it doesn't hurt to ask (although computers should a 24-48 guarantee). Regardless the way they came across made me think I was wasting their time even though I was spending hundreds of dollars. They were just rude and didn't care at all that it seemed that way. I even said THANK YOU after the transaction and didn't get a response! If you want a deal then maybe this is the place but DO NOT expect friendly people!

I have pawned jewelry here a few times when life got hard and I was in a bind. Extremely low ball loan amounts are given and each time the staff is not friendly. They always act like it’s an inconvenience to wait on you. This last time the guy just gave me my money and then walked away, no “thanks, have a good day”, or anything. I had to ask him if we were done.

I'm writing this comment cause of other people putting bad comments down for some reason,but I went there yesterday with my dad to look around and ask a couple questions about their transfer fees also to mention first time being in there didn't have any of this rude customer service everyone speaks of was offered to look at guns that I was thinking about buying cause prices were great even the new ones were lower than you could buy them about anywhere online or any other shops and only shop around that competed with their prices was piney flats gun and pawn and also to mention I'm a mechanic by heart lol all their torque wenches like snap on and matco where 70 percent off retail which they are used and probably have to recalibrate them but hey 150 bucks for an easy 900 used snap on torque wrench but from what I could tell good people with good prices even have a nice dog so no complaints here didn't even buy anything

Went in here one time. There were probably 6 people behind the counter. Not one of them even acknowledged our existence. And when we did all a question they acted like I was bothering them. Their prices on firearms and ammo was extremely high. They have a lot of product. But because of their lack of good customer service I will not return. I've since found a much better place to shield my money. I suggest you look around before you settle.

Staff barely acknowledges your existence and when they do they're rude. They act like they don't want your business so they won't get mine. Had money in my pocket to buy a gun but will definitely be going elsewhere.

I did a transfer at volunteer . My first time in the store and thought I would give them a try. Two items from palmetto state armory. $60 dollar transfer fee , would have been $70 if paying with a credit card. A reasonable fee would have been $30 or $35. Never again. I've been in business for 45 years and treated every one of my customers as if they were the only one I had. I didn't loose any . I guess Volunteer Pawn is doing so well they don't need or want new business.
