Not much to be excited for. I bought a used vehicle at this dealership. It was a decent little car at first glance, but a quick review by a mechanic after the purchase revealed a failing head gasket and a bad rear main seal, two major motor issues one would not expect from the used car inventory of a new car dealership. The vehicle was sold as-is, and I declined an extended warranty. Hindsight is 20/20, I suppose. The salesman was pleasant, so I will give an extra star for that experience. However, I won't return. If you choose to do business with a Bill Gatton dealership, especially if you are in the market for a used vehicle, demand an inspection by an independent mechanic before your purchase. If they refuse, find another option. This car should have been sent to auction or repaired before being placed in inventory. Very disappointed since they should have known better.

This place cares about one thing and one thing only: having you sign on the dotted line so they can cut and run with as much money out of you as possible. There's a reason they don't provide so much as a 24 hour warranty, they'd be out of business. They couldn't care less about building a long term customer base. They will sell a car out from under you the day you are coming in to buy it after talking to them all day long about how you will be coming in. And when you do finally manage to get a car from them after being toyed around, consider yourself lucky if it lasts you 6 months.

I had an amazing experience at this dealership. The entire process of purchasing my 2018 Mazda3 was quick and painless from start to finish. I located the vehicle I wanted to purchase online through a third party website and sent the generic "I am interested email". I was almost immediately contacted by a Ms. Kasey Bishop, who was courteous and helpful from the start. She answered some questions for me about the vehicle and even took some more pictures for me at my request. I informed her that I was travelling from a couple hours away, so she maintained contact with me to ensure that the vehicle I was interested in was still available. Once the vehicle was detailed she noticed a small scratch and let me know before I was enroute just to to ensure there was no surprises for me. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a Mr. Chris Saletto. He was courteous and very personable. The test drive went smooth and his demeanor did not change when he was informed that I had already secured financing through my bank. If you have bought any cars with pre approved financing you probably know this isn't always the case. Mr. Saletto was upfront about pricing and even after we had made the deal. He had a few small blemish's on the interior taken care of without me even having to ask. Overall the process took about an hour from stepping foot on the dealership and there was not a single moment where I was worried about my treatment. I would highly recommend this dealership and I am sure I will go to them for any future vehicle purchases.

I’ve bought two vehicles from this dealership, and cannot say enough good things about them! I’m a very difficult car buyer, so when I have a salesman that is able to handle how difficult I am, I will go back! I purchased a 2012 Outback last year, and while I did enjoy the car, my heart belongs to manual transmissions. While I had my Outback in for service on 1/17/2022, I went and found the salesman (Ernie) I dealt with a year ago, and asked if he had any WRXs. To my pleasure and surprise, they did! He went above and beyond to help me out, and I ended up trading my Outback in for the WRX. 10/10 experience, would definitely return when I’m in the market for my next vehicle!

I was working with Melissa trying to get a truck. The first time she came back and said i was denied and that was it. I called her and had to figure out why and she said it was because my income didn't approve which there was a mistake in my paystub and she didn't even offer to fix it. The second tone she came back and said i was denied but wouldn't tell my why! I called my local credit union and was approved in 15minutes! Don't let them run your credit when they don't know what they are doing!!!

I highly recommend any first time car buyers to visit here before anywhere else. I recently bought my first used car here and had a wonderful experience. The staff ensured the process was stress free and very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all the questions I had. They truly went above and beyond! I am very satisfied with my purchase and will continue to do business here in the future!

BUYER BEWARE. I'm a 20 year old female that moved across the country. I went to Bill Gatton Mazda of Johnson City to purchase a car that will carry me through the first half of adult hood. I trusted Lloyd Mullins and his staff to take care of me through this stressful process. That was a mistake. I purchased a 2009 Subaru Forester that blew the transmission FOUR DAYS after I took it off the lot. The sales manager admitted to putting the car on the lot with a bad tranny and did not disclose that info to me before I purchased the car. He offered to pay $800 of the $2,160 (plus tax) repair. After denying the offer and demanding they pay the full price (as they sold me the Subaru at the price point of a GOOD condition car according to Kelly Blue Book) I was hung up on. They DO NOT take care of their customers let alone make sure their cars are in good and safe condition. I do NOT recommend Bill Gatton Mazda of Johnson City to anyone, especially young females.

Buyer Beware !! Recently bought a used car from Bill Gatton and it was by far the worst car buying experience I have ever had. The Salesman was fine but after the 2nd day, every light on the car came on. Called to ask if they could do anything and they said no. Didn't even offer to scan it. Called and left message with GM with no replay. The car came from the auction and I believe they just reset the computer to get it out the door. Learned my lesson there and will tell everyone I know not to do business there.

I had the worse experience at this dealership. I tried to buy a car from Ethan for a week and when I showed up late for my appt he wouldn't let me see the car. I was prepared to put a down payment ($3,000) on a $8,000 vehicle. I was so hurt by this action of not letting me see the car. He told I couldn't Because someone else was interested and was coming to see it in an hour, I was so devastated that I started to cry. Then my sister told them we had a cash down payment so he let us but still told us we would be second in line to buy the car because we didn't tell him we were still coming to see the vehicle. I do not recommend buying a car here. Or at the very least DO NOT MISS YOUR APPT. I recommend AUTO NATION in Johnson City and ask for MARK! Tell him I sent you!! He sold me my Cadillac which I love!

I took my 2016 Miata to Bill Gatton Mazda for its 40,000 mile maintenance. 2,000 miles later the rear brake pads had scored the rotors beyond repair. I asked why they didn't inform me of this at my regularly scheduled visit, and the explanation their service rep Felicia gave me was that their regular inspection looks only at the outboard brake pad, which gets less wear. They know the inboard pad gets more wear, but it takes longer to check, so instead, they check one-half of the brakes to save time. It is a half-fast inspection.

I had to go to Bill Gatton Mazda/Acura, from Morristown, for warranty work on my Mazda 6 and they were wonderful. The service department had a new 2018 Mazda 6 ready for me and they even washed my car! I loved the entire experience!

I usually don't like to write negative reviews but this was such a negative experience, I feel I must share. First, I waited in the hot, humid sun for a sales person a lot longer than one should especially when I saw two were looking at me. Then he finally came down and he acted like it was such a bother. Second, I knew more about the vehicle than he did. Third, When I test drove the vehicle, he said he had to go with me and he didn't even say it or explain it in a nice way either. Actually his tone was condescending. He said it was standard for insurance purposes. It may be their "standards" but not at other auto dealerships I have recently visited. The sales person just had a very negative attitude from the beginning and it didn't improve. Not happy with the treatment AT ALL I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. MAYBE, I'm just use to the 5 star treatment I always receive at JC Ford Lincoln. Worst experience EVER!!! Totally insulted and it takes a lot to insult me.
