I have a small one man operational business which I operate part-time, my wife and I are both W-2 employees full-time, I sat in Mrs. Schuette office, in August of this year to discussed price before hiring her and the Accountant firm Davis, Brown and Company PLLC and we agreed on a price of $1800.00 to prepare my personal and business taxes for 2023, which we all know is an inflated price to begin with but I was new to town and need the tax work to be done before the deadline, so I agreed, I was notified mini months later my taxes were finally complete, when we opened the company portal to sign for our taxes we notice she raised her price an additional $500,00 for personal tax work, bringing the total tax prep to $2,300.00. When asked about the price increase she claimed they would never agree to a set price/fee, I asked her do people just open there checkbooks and say "charge me whatever you want when you're done", of course she said no. but here she is holding my taxes hostage unless I go along with her bribery/ransom, according to Mrs. Schuette Davis, Brown and Company's typical tax preparation fee for personal tax work is $500 and an additional $500 and up for a business/companies depending on the size, type of business and services needed, but never an open checkbook which she confirmed on October 3rd 2024 11am CST, again I am a one man part-time business owner with a full time W-2 Job. I was also already set up on QuickBooks for easy access and I paid the accounting firm $1,800.00 as the agreed price in August of this year as I sat in her office, Sonya Schuette last minute slipped in an additional $500 bill and continues to hold my personal taxes ransom. I also set a date and time in Mrs. Schuette office to professionally discuss the fee again and she very rudely and unprofessional shut down the conversation and kicked me out of her office. I feel this company "Davis, Brown and Company PLLC Certified Public Accountants" along with Sonya Schuette is crooked and unethical. I strongly encourage anyone looking for tax service to find a more ethical professional company with strong customer values. If you are going to do business with this company make sure you get the fees in writing and don't rely on a handshake, those small town values are long gone.
I'm sure Mrs. Schuette will respond to this review in a defiant way trying to defend her rude unethical actions but the damage is done and its difficult to defend yourself when you know you're wrong.

Poor service. Messed up S-Corp, messed up Sect 179 deductions, no advice, awful to deal with. Took me weeks to unwind the problems he passed down to me. Too bad, I actually needed help and love paying service providers. Brown used some excuse as to why he couldn't help me because, "Other clients don't want to pay for it." D**** Probably has too many clients on his plate. Owner's reply is false. Casa Vaso is a subsidiary of Rail19. Thanks for not helping us when we needed you.

Davis, Brown are always responsive to my business needs as well as my personal tax needs. I use them for CFO services for my business and that is one less thing that I have to worry about! I also have them take care of my personal taxes which is great because they understand the business that I am in and help make sure my K1's are accurate! Their customer service demonstrated by their entire team is unapparelled.

A very professional and responsible CPA firm whether they prepare your business or personal tax returns. My wife and I have been clients from the beginning. Prices for services seem a little high at times but they are willing to adjust when adjustments are justified. Also the accountants and staff are acommodating and will readily explain and answer questions. I have no serious problems with this firm.
