My boyfriend called the day before dropping off our car and spoke to the receptionist and told her that we had gotten our car worked on by another mechanic last week and told her that we were having a lot of issues since and went into great detail about all the issues that we are having with our car. First of all when arriving at the shop the receptionist was a little rude and acted like she was a little aggravated when I checked in. I thought well maybe she is having a bad morning and left the car anyways because she is not the one that will actually be working on my car. I dropped the car off at approximately 9:30am. The receptionist called after 3pm stating that they don’t work behind other mechanics and that we need to pick up our car. The mechanic would not get on the phone, he kept relaying the information to her and she would repeat what he said instead of him just getting on the phone. You could hear him in the background. They said that the code that we got when diagnosed was a different code than what they got and that they are not fixing it which made no sense at all, just because someone else had worked on the car. I don’t understand why they would even tell us to bring the car in the first place. When picking up the keys to the car I asked the receptionist why the mechanic couldn’t work on the car and she was very rude and we both ended up getting loud with each other because she was yelling and both of us were basically trying to yell over each other. This receptionist is very unprofessional and has no customer service skills at all whatsoever. Allen, the owner, came out of the shop and was very nice about everything and tried to explain that he doesn’t work behind someone else, but it just makes no sense to me at all. I would have never brought it there to begin with. Long story short, they already knew that someone had just worked on my car before we brought it in and the receptionist needs to work in the back somewhere...away from customers. She has a very short fuse and I do not take unprofessionalism very well. We were upfront with everything. They basically wasted a whole day when my car could have been at another shop getting worked on.

I have taken serveral different vehicles to Mr. Kelly for repairs and maintenance for about 7 years. My experience with his Automotive services have been outstanding and I highly recommended him to several employees, customers and friends. However between October 26 - Nov.18th 2020 I had my vehicle serviced three times for one problem ( service engine light blinking as well as the car not running properly) meanwhile I've also had other repairs done to my vehicle (oil change and sway bar) while he was servicing the engine. Upon my arrival to Kelly Automotive I explained to the Receptionist/ Manager what I believed to be the problem from information I read in the Manuel which states that if the engine light is blinking , engine misfire is occurring which could damage the catalytic converter. The first visit I was told it was the ignition coil and spart plug that was 10/26/2020. On 11/4/2020 I returned to the shop to have my vehicle maintenanced again for the same issue. I was told it was a fuel cap that needed replacing and was also charged for wiper blades that I never asked to be replaced, Even though they needed replacing I think he or the Receptionist/Manager should have discussed it with me before charging me. 11/18/2020 I'm back at Kelly Automotive for the same issue once again. I'm told that it's a CRB Canister vent valve. Its 11/ 22/2020 and I'm stuck at home without a way to work. I have lost money, work, time dealing with this company. I trusted Mr. Kelly with my vehicle but I will never take my car for repairs to his shop again. I've paid exactly $671.40 for all repairs and Im left without a way to go. Also the Receptionist was somewhat rude when I asked her if they knew of anyone who could tow my vehicle to my place of residence due to not having any transportation to pick my vehicle up( I rather not call taxi or uber service) and she replied " No ma'am we don't know anyone who can give you a discount for towing". I never asked for a discount , I just simply asked if she happen to know anyone for a tow, being that I have been a customer for many years I thought that they may have a connection to a towing company. I dont have many friends and what family I do have live out of town/ state. I called a towing company and had my vehicle picked up. In my opinion his business went from outstanding to very unprofessional. In reply of you're recent comment/postOn 11/24/2020 I had a diagnostic performed by Lorick's Automotive who Basically told me I needed a new engine. Labor description reads , Cylinder 8 has low compression and burnt / possible whole in piston. I understand my vehicle is older (2006 Mercury Mountaineer) but what I don't understand is if he could give me an accurate diagnostics on my first visit, why weren't you able to do the same? Instead I feel I have been charged for parts that may not have needed changing. If I was given professional service I wouldn't have to keep bringing my car back to be maintenanced on three occasions/ possibly four, for one issue that could have clearly been solved with a proper diagnostic.

Took my vehicle there to get estimate on some work that he quoted me 1700.00, I said no thank you paid the 50.00 for checking the problem and I did the job myself for a little over 200. Fast forward 2-3 months I call to see if he could fix something else, he said to drop it off and he would get it done within 2-3 days, i get the vehicle there and he tells me oh that part is rusted itll be 3-4 weeks. Ieft and will not be returning, I WILL tell everyone how he conducts business i wish I could give lower than one star

****Beware, do not go here: The owner was very unprofessional. My car was not fixed and I was charged before being told an estimate. The owner charged over $200.00 ( almost 200.00 in labor)for a 10.00 can of silicone spray that supposedly fixed my car leak issue. The issue was not fixed and I went back again. The owner kept my car three days, leaving me without transportation. When I called for an update, I was told, I would have to pay more money for parts. Which was said to buy time to test my car leaks, for a car that hadn’t been touch for 3 days. The manager said she would call me back to she had to talk to the owner. I was called back and told he would reimburse me half, because he fixed half the problems and I could pick up my car that day. I picked up my car which was soaked in water on the passenger side which had the leak issue, which meant my car was not being worked on until I called and they scattered to test it again for the leak issue. The owner would not come out to discuss this issue....very unprofessional and he could care less. I called a few days later during a big rain and stated my car was not fixed and I was very upset. The manager took the message and my call was Never returned. I should have received a Total Refund. This place clearly did not know how to fix my car and is dishonest. I will never go here again, I lost money by using this place.
