Our salesperson (Stas) was nice and responsive. We were in the dealership approx. 8 hours and had to stay past their posted closing hours to finalize the purchase. Our financing experience was a different story. When we walked in the financing office, we were told "here is your monthly payment and it includes..." There was no mention that we were being sold a warranty, so we thought we were just being told our monthly payment at face value (and weren't shocked when our monthly payment was higher bc we requested a 36mo term rather than the 72mo one they originally presented). I had to ask 3x for an interest rate before they disclosed it. An Ipad was used for reviewing/signing documents, which in hindsight appears to be a strategy to gloss over concerning details (ie monthly payment w/ vs. w/o warranty coverage...so that you don't see it). ASK FOR EVERYTHING IN PRINT BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING. Barely any printed documents were provided, and we were told everything was on a USB given to us when we left. Barely anything was on the USB and the IMPORTANT documentation we have now came from several trips to the dealership later (ie the buyer's order & breakdown of costs). When we accessed our Toyota account, our principal was $10k more than we expected. We went back to the dealership for answers; Corey (from finance) stated it was all from a warranty (that we unknowingly purchased). Even if we were aware that we were purchasing a warranty, $10k is an absolute scam. They mentioned nothing about our rights to cancel nor did they provide specific contract terms outlining our rights to cancel. I found out via internet searches/reviews that we were sold a ToyotaCare extended warranty, and I had 30 days to cancel for a full refund. We signed the cancellation forms.Corey stated that all warranties may be cancelled except for the Nanocure bc it was a product that they had applied to the car already. He provided me several half-hearted numbers of what the Nanocure actually costs, which changed each time I pressed him further (from $5k to $3k then to $2.5K). He stated that since this was not a true warranty, but rather a product purchase, I could not get my money back. I asked for an invoice for proof of when the product was applied to my car, and he stated that "we don't keep record of that." He went on to say that it was applied within the approx. 30min time frame we were in his office, but again no proof can be provided. Mind you, we entered the finance office after the doors were closed to the public. There were still stickers and plastic in our car (which they apologized for) but makes me HIGHLY suspicious that detail/service staff were even present. In fact, the lights were turned off in the service department, where we were waiting. Given the sly practices we have experienced thus far, I would not be surprised if what we were told was also inaccurate, and it IS a warranty that can be cancelled.Corey then went on to state that when buyers choose to finance, they vaguely discuss the details of the monthly payment, and that I should have "picked up on" the payment increase. He also strongly insinuated that cash buyers are presented the warranty in more optional terms. After expressing my frustration with our experience, he then tried to re-sell me on keeping the warranty because of the "deal" I was losing out on. I think that is pretty telling that profit at the expense of ethics is their bottom line. Please be wary and exercise caution if you choose to do business with Spartanburg Toyota.UPDATE (1/09/24): Shortly after posting the google review, the manager called to apologize for our experience. He promised a full refund for the Nanocure charge and stated our cancellation forms have been submitted and that we would receive email confirmation. He did ask if we would consider removing our review and we stated that we would update the review, reflecting a resolution. He was open to my feedback and attested that it would be used in future training, which seemed genuine. We app

We moved from the Dallas area to Duncan in March, so I had to find a Toyota dealer to finish up my maintenance contract. I took my Rav4 in for my last free Oil change and they always do a multi-point inspection. I was told that my front brakes were down to 2MM and need to be replaced and probably would also need the rotors turned or replaced. Along with that they said my brake system need to be flushed. I declined because first of all my brake system was flushed a year ago and my brakes were working fine. I took my car to Sims Tire and Automotive in Duncan to verify what I had been told about my brake thickness. They inspected both front and rear brakes and said the front had 5mm and the back 7mm and would not need to be replaced for a while. So that was my last time I will have anything to do with a lying Spartanburg Toyota. I have never taken any of my vehicles to a dealership for anything other than warranty work and this is why. They are not honest!!!

Went in after work two weeks ago and bought two used cars. Of course this took some time. Pricing structure was sketchy (if you aren't aware of the internet price, they will tell you it is about 3-4k higher), but in the end we got the cars we wanted for the price we found online. The financing department was a whole other story. Mr. Gilcrest was in quite the hurry since he had a 45 min drive home and had been working 50-60 hrs a week. Papers were flown in and out in front of me for signature. I failed to ask all the right questions and he failed to even remotely try to explain all that he was doing. Basically it came down to 'here's your monthly payment'.The next day I see that he doubled my down payment. You read that right. I told him a very specific amount and handed him my debit card. He took it and gave it back. The next morning I'm out twice what I told him. So far I've left three messages and zero response. This place is a joke and, from my experience, as shifty as they come. They also never disclosed my interest rate. I didn't find out that I was getting gouged until I got the paper work from the bank. I went back over all the paperwork I was given at the sale and there isn't anything in there about what rate I was being charged. Again, my bad for not asking. But this place is nothing but a scam. I'm going to refinance it through my bank with a reasonable rate and possibly get an attorney involved to deal with the gross mishandling of my funds with regards to the deposit and overall shady practices. Mr. Gilcrest and his 'team' are cowards and crooks. Sure hope this doesn't happen to Vic Bailey now that they've sold.

Since Dave Edwards retired, the Toyota dealership has gone down. The bathrooms used to be spotless, but now they are horrible. Just plain dirty.

One star is too much. They offered us a coupon for an oil change for $29.95. When we took the car for an oil change and tire rotation, they gave us the estimated cost as around $45. Without notifying us and without our consent, they added several extra fees to more than double the cost of our bill. When we asked about these fees, they refused to remove them and demanded that we pay them. I am highly dissatisfied with their deceitfulness and poor customer service. I strongly recommend that no one use their services.

There's shame on you and shame on me and this case, shame on me but I feel this dealership took advantage of a young guy looking to buy his first car. His trade-in, a 2008 Toyota 4Runner was offered at $5,000 trade-in and they have listed at $13,995.I'm a former Toyota employee and the 4Runner did have a warning light on so I knew it wasn't worth what he could've sold it for private party but had I'd been there, I would've told my son to walk away from the truck he was looking at but unfortunately, I wasn't present.Shame on me for not staying in constant contact with my son because they took advantage of a young, excited guy who could buy his first vehicle on his own.I will NEVER refer a customer to this dealership. I understand making money is part of it, I used to be there too but there's a difference of making money and taking advantage of a customer so shame on me but in the end, shame on you Spartanburg Toyota! If you're looking at the 08' 4Runner with 174k miles on it, they gave my son $5,000 for it on trade-in so don't pay anywhere near the $13,995 they have it priced at.

I took my Camry in for my routine maintenance and was informed that I had a leak in my left front axle. They suggested I have it replace at a cost of $846. Wanted to do it that day. Told them I would have to discuss it with my husband and would call them. Took it to another repair shop and was told that everything looked fine and that it did not have to be replaced. Spartanburg Toyota lied to me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE FOR SERVICING!!!!!

If I could give the service department a 0, I would. First, I took my mom's car to Firestone and they said that they couldn't fix it and that I should take it to the dealership. I did. They "fixed" the problem for about a month. The repair was very expensive! A month later, I had to take it back with the same problem and they said that my mom's engine needed to be replaced and that they didn't know this when they made the earlier repairs. I talked to Adam, the service manager, and he said that he would look into it, as to why the repairs were made without knowing the seriousness of the problem! I waited three weeks with no call. I called back and he was NEVER available to talk to me. Finally, he called and left a message on my job for me to call him, which was fine. When I called the number, it kept saying that it was not in service. I never got to talk to him and my mom's car is sitting in the backyard with all those expensive repairs. Thumbs down to this dealership. Don't waste your money!!!!!!

Their inventory is so low that they are willing to knock you as low as possible just to buy your car just a heads up. I understand that when selling your car to a dealership they will lower your price of your car so that they make profit when selling it at the real Kelley Blue Book. But what I hate about this place is they marked down my car as more damage then what my car even had. They said things needed to be replaced when you can't even check to see if those things needed to even be replaced unless you looked under my car which is not easy to do if it's not lifted up on a car lift. My Kelley blue book went from 11,198 to 6,000 because of everything they put down. My car went from having normal scratches on a car that has been in our possession for seven years to having on paper major damages where tiny scratches that could be buffed out are.

Bought a Toyota Rav4 Hybrid AWD and purchased the extended warranty. 3 days later we asked for a refund for the extended warranty since the warranty company had bad reviews on Google. We purchased the car on April 5th, 2022 and as of today NO REFUND. 2 weeks ago, Roberto(manager) promised a check would be sent out, it never was. Avoid doing business with the dealership. It's a SCAM operation. Calling the SC Attorney General to file a complaint and contacting a lawyer and bringing them to court. I will be looking for lawyer fees + lost interest + warranty refund. Will also be requesting trial by jury, this company needs to be exposed for their wrong doing.

My check engine light came on and I drove my Lexus to Spartanburg Toyota. They worked me right in and Chris kept me informed as they were diagnosing the problem. Chris called the company where I had an extended warranty and got the approval. He ordered the part and set up an appointment for the next day. The next day I was in and out within an hour. I could not have asked for better service. Highly recommend!

Absolutely the worst Toyota Dealership service ever! I was a long term customer with Dave Edwards. Not now. Car was suppose to be repaired (after a $2,600 bill ... yep, quite a laundry list when I have my car serviced regularly), when it had the tire pressure sensor light flashing when I picked it up. The mechanics and service managers don't communicate very well ... and the service manager (Chris) forgot everything he committed to. Never again! Tip / Note to self: When a service manager tell you something needs replaced, ask to see the "worn parts" taken off YOUR vehicle. Ask to know how far out of alignment your tires are. Verify everything, else pay for work you do not need.

I just purchased my RAV4 that I had been leasing these last 3 years. Eddy Schotborgh, Used Car Salesman and Jon David Ledbetter, Financing Dept. were professional and helpful in making my final decision to purchase my car. I greatly recommend Dave Edwards Toyota for sales and service.
