Knowledgeable people eager to please. I have made it a game to see if I can ask for something they don't have in stock. I have lost every time so far. Vast selection and reasonable prices. You've got to go there.

Performing a lot of projects at my lake house, I typically pass by Hamm's to purchase at Lowe's of Newberry, deserving a swift kick in the backside. Apparently I forgot that I bought half the materials for my house 30+ years ago at Hamm's. The lack of stock and decent materials at Lowe's prompted my return to Hamm's. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it. I've found better quality lumber, various hardware and plumbing supplies at better prices that Lowe's. I've made three trips to Hamm's in the last two weeks, each time greeted by a friendly face and help loading materials.

Great store, friendly service. The employees are actually knowledgeable and helpful. Very tidy and well merchandised. This store punches far above its weight class for a small town hardware store.
