We had the pleasure of using the service department during our road trip, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was incredibly kind and professional, addressing all of our questions and concerns with patience and expertise. They went above and beyond to ensure that the repairs stayed within our budget, which we greatly appreciated.
Everyone we interacted with was accommodating and genuinely sweet, making what could have been a stressful situation so much easier to handle. If you’re ever in the area and need reliable service, I highly recommend Prothro GMC. They truly care about their customers!

I took my truck there for an 8 am appointment to have the headlight bulbs changed, jerking when taking off and to fix the check engine light emissions code problem. I was the first in line for that day. I waited in their lounge till about noon (4 hours) before being contacted about what they found. My total time was 7 hours. The service advisor Mark could not give me an answer why they could not change my headlight bulb so he tells me that they are not OEM bulbs he could not even tell me how to get to the bulbs. When asked if the dealer won't know how to access the headlight bulbs then who knows how to change them? His demeanor changed and from then on he was very rude and disrespectful toward me even telling me he hope That I never come back there. I went to another dealership in Columbia SC and they told me that the bulbs were a fit and gave me A thorough explanation about the process to install them which is very unique. The rude, disrespectful conduct and the long unapologetic wait time was enough for me to believe that the service department is not good. Not to mention the lack of knowledge and professionalism. I cannot say that I won't go back because I have little faith in the work that they did and may need to go back under their warranty to have it redone. .

I would like to praise the service department. I would like to highlight Chad, Ryan and Mark. I owe them a debt of gratitude. On July 1st, I ran over a piece of steel on Interstate 95. I blew out a tire and damaged the mag wheel on my 2019 Cadillac CT6. I must add, I'm a Massachusetts resident that was passing through South Carolina on my way to Florida. I was on a tight schedule. The state trooper recommended Prothro. I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to help me out, because they weren't a Cadillac dealership. I couldn't have been more wrong. I stated my predicament and the urgency. Ryan said they could secure the tire and wheel. He also stated the delivery truck typically arrives around 12pm the following day. I booked a hotel room in town and arrived back at the dealership at 11am the following day. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me the truck was there with my tire and wheel. They quickly installed the new tire and wheel. I was on my way at 12 noon. I can't thank these guys enough.

I was treated with disrespect by Mr Epps. Per owner Mr Prothro he describes Mr Epps as "CONTACEROUS" I have never know that to be part of a job description but apparently it"s okay with them??? My truck was towed there after a new fuel pump was installed by my mechanic for diagnosis of an electrical issue which was keeping power from fuel pump. Mark insisted fuel pump was bad and then stated my mechanic wired it incorrectly. OK so $830 later and a new fuel pump should be fixed right? NO. In fact it was towed back from them THREE MONTHS later. R&S Auto continued and found a weak battery, fuse and bad and bad positive wire between BCM and Fuse box. Hours of hunting when a modern dearlership was clueless, has the most uptodate equipment but not an ounce of real know how. Parts installers at best. They had no problem ripping me off for $830 and trying to take my truck for the bill BEWARE if its not brand new and a diagnostic computer can't tell them what to do.......they KNOW NOTHING!!

They wanted to charge me $100 AN HOUR to see why my car was not starting. I have never been to a mechanic that didn't figure out the issue first, then call you with a quote. I took it elsewhere since that was insane to me and come to find out the previous dealership has put a GPS locator on it and for some reason that day after driving it and owning it outright for over a year, the GPS was activated and it would not start, it took the other mechanic about 4 hours to figure out the issue and I was charged $35 to take it off. I would of likely paid upwards of $500 if I would have allowed Prothro to look at my vehicle. I can not imagine why anyone would use their services.
