I had a great experience dealing with Dan and Larry at Downforce. I purchased a 1965 Cobra MK3 and couldn’t be happier. Driving this car makes all my problems melt away especially driving down a country road listening to the engine rumble from the two side pipes!
I highly recommend Downforce Motorsports!!

As a woman, sometimes walking into a dealership can be a little intimidating… not the case at Downforce! The showroom is beautiful and everyone is very knowledgeable. You walk in as a prospective customer and walk out as family! A rare find nowadays!

I'm in the planning stage while I secure finances so I haven't purchased yet, but mux the amount of calls they have answered with annoying questions I have, the ability to see so much inventory, and the amount of knowledge this dealership has makes them a no brainer for my purchase. I even found out that if I chose to put the car on the track they have decades of race history! I'm excited to become a part of the Downforce community.

To indulge my midlife crisis, I bought a 2010 Shelby GT 500 Mustang, and loved it ever since. For my senior crisis, I had the financial means to get my dream car: a 1965 Shelby AC Cobra replica. I started early in 2023 with the idea of getting a Factory Five car built with a Mustang Coyote engine (like my 2016 Roush Mustang). In April of 2023 I met Dan Long from Downforce Motorsports at the CMS Autofair. I was immediately impressed with his knowledge, and literally within minutes, he talked me out of the Factory Five kit in favor of the superior Shelby licensed Superformance car. He also convinced me that the 351 Windsor bored and stroked to 427 CID was the right choice over the Coyote. Dan said that he had several rollers available so that I could have the car by July 4 (about 2 months). Accordingly, I didn’t balk at full payment for roller and engine upfront in April since I expected the car in two months. This is where the dream becomes a NIGHTMARE! To summarize the painful story, after I paid Dan, he was impossible to contact for updates on progress of the car. The car promised by July 4th is now promised by Thanksgiving! (and if wasn’t for Prestige Motorsports building and installing the drivetrain, I honestly don’t know whether I would ever receive the car!) In addition to late delivery of the roller to the assembly shop, Dan supplied incorrect exhaust headers, no SC title (as promised), 15” wheels (instead of 18”), no front splitter and incorrect engine order that I paid for (inclusively) in April. Dan took my money in April and ignored and insulted me for 7 months until I took aggressive measures to get his attention. In other words, Dan screwed up every aspect of my order that he was responsible for and further made it clear that he did not care! Superformance offers a good product, Dan Long makes the sales experience intolerable. I sincerely suspect that he took my money to pay for another build and started my build with someone else’s money (Ponzi scheme). In summary, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DAN LONG AND DOWNFORCE MOTORSPORTS!

Last year, while contemplating my pending mid-life moment, I called and asked if we could stop in to look at the inventory. Owner said sure, come on - he was about to leave for a delivery, but waited and gave us an hour of his time to go over the differences in the 289 and 427 models as well as liked at the Daytonas he had. Great customer service, excellent product knowledge. Beautiful showroom and car inventory. Will definitely follow up when I need any performance tuning assistance.
