Found some rather interesting books available, and considered making this a returning place to visit, although the boasting from one of the male staff of the current news of our past president seems immature and lacking of intellectual integrity was a turn off. I purchased my books and left, with the current affairs of the world due to our current president it’s seems contradictory to return.

Another nice store inside the Wakefield Mall. This locally owned bookstore is pretty busy every time I walk by.There's nothing like being able to flip through pages of books and see what the book is about, just by glancing or speed reading a few pages..... Wakefield Books has been dedicated to providing the community with a friendly atmosphere and a great shopping experience for many many years. They have book genres that cater to all interests and ages, including mysteries, romance novels, travel, culture, fiction, and non-fiction. They are very helpful and they can provide information on any book you have questions about, they can offer recommendations, or they can place a special order for you. Wakefield Books offers a 20% classroom discount to teachers and is happy to accept purchase orders from local schools, as well as set up fundraisers.

Wakefield Books is one of my favorite places to shop. They have a wide variety of books on hand but also are happy to order whatever you need. I love reading the staff descriptions of the newest book releases. They even have book signings with the local authors and plenty of summer reading guides for all ages.Also, I don’t know what the other reviewer is talking about, the staff always remembers my name!

I like the idea of a local bookstore, and I really try to support local businesses. But, over the past two years, I've made a number of special orders. Maybe one every 8 weeks. Over time, you would think they might remember my name on the phone or when I arrive without having to spell it. It's a really simple name. Yet, each and every time they act like they don't know me. Not the slightest hint of recognition. In effect, they don't seem to care. They don't make the slightest effort to get to know a client or remember a name. I'm not looking for someone to turn cartwheels when I come in, but how about just once pretending that you've seen me or remembered my name. No recognition at all. This week, I ordered a book that could have come overnight from elsewhere, but I ordered here.When I went to pick it up, same story. "How do you spell that?" When it was found, the book was just passed over the counter and when I paid, all I got was "OK, you're all set." Not "thanks" or "thanks for coming." Just "OK". Petty complaint, maybe. But, if I'm going to be treated like I don't matter, I can just stick with Amazon. It will be equally anonymous, but at least they deliver.

This is a fantastic independent bookstore. The staff picks are excellent. And they have terrific bargains as well. They are super friendly, well staffed, well stocked and a pleasure to browse. And they'll order anything they don't have in stock.
