These guys are great. Honest, helpful, patient and really try to determine what level you are at and want. And stand behind what they sell. I highly recommend!

Just went there and they set me up with a great center speaker and a sub for an unbelievable price! Got an old record player a few years back and it has been absolutely perfect. Great equipment and in great shape. Can't beat a good local business thanks for what you do!

One of the best kept secrets in the area for anyone who values audio/music/fidelity. Had the most fantastic time with the folks working here, very friendly and knowledgeable and eager to answer any technical questions you have.

Got a good deal on a vintage piece there but don't EVER try to sell them something you're looking to sell. Example: Had a nice tape deck that needed a minor repair. They offered me $20! Sold the next day, still needing that minor repair, for $250! It was the Pioneer RT-1011L. Advertised on CL late Saturday. Sold today to an elderly gentleman for my asking price of $250. Apparently he works on vintage equipment as a side hobby. If you think I'm making this story up, I'd be glad to give you his phone number.

I've debated leaving a review but I'm reminded of the poor repair service done to my top of the line vintage receiver each time I use it. The volume knob wasn't wobbly when I took it into the shop but has been ever since. The tone mode knob was completely misaligned upon receipt, too.I know basic maintenance and can't imagine loosening knobs unnecessarily. It's even worse that the tech didn't retighten them. Apart from that, they have a decent selection of used gear but the prices are often rather suspect, especially since they serve a fairly small market. It's getting harder to find good vintage audio shops and I was really hoping to have a better experience with Stereo Discount.

Very happy with this stereo repair shop, I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of help with their component repairs. Brought an all in one samsung for my daughter, the fixed the turntable for her and now she can build her own vinyl album collection. ?

Stuart and his team are a pleasure to work with, and I'm so happy Stereo Discount (Center) is still around in 2023!Some of my fondest early HiFi memories come from browsing the store when it was located on Thayer street as a teenager. I can remember as clear as if it was yesterday checking out the best of the best in my favorite component of the era: cassette decks featuring motorized opening/closing, vacuum fluorescent display VU meters, Dolby S, AMS, all cutting edge for the early 1990's.A few years back I sold a good amount of HiFi to SDC, vintage and modern, and Stuart and his team were very up front and fair throughout the entire process and with the final pricing.

Helped me recondition a Marantz 125 tuner and they were quick and cost effective. Replaced parts (bulbs and fuses) were given to me after repair so I could see what was done! Great shop!
