“Mike is hands down the best I've ever trained with. His workouts are SUPER efficient: so much gets done in each workout! Some trainers I have used in the past seemed like salesmen, and set me up with exercises that were either ineffective or actually caused injury. Mike is the complete opposite. Not only does he customize workouts to meet individual goals, he is amazingly knowledgeable about the human body and can work with any kind of limitation, injury, condition, etc. He's also got the highest level of training and certification in his field (CSCS) - very few trainers are so well educated. “If you are anything like me, I need accountability when working out and to feel comfortable with those around me. The Edge Fitness For Women does just that! I have been coming here for the past 2 months and have since asked myself what took me so long to get my butt here! They offer personal training and group classes. I started here with personal training sessions with Natalina. She is beyond awesome! She made it very easy to get back into a groove and feel good about working out. There is a great variety of classes that are scheduled throughout the day anywhere from 5:45am to 7pm so they can easily fit into your schedule. I've taken classes with both Natalina and Olga and they are all fantastic! I've taken HIIT, row/trx/core, boot camp, kickboxing and strengthening and tone. They also offer spin, barre, and a few others. Class are small in size so you get attention to your specific needs. They have several different purchase options, such as a single class, 10-class punch card or a monthly membership of unlimited classes for $130. For someone like myself trying to go 4-5 x a week, it is definitely worth it! I cannot say enough great things about Olga and Natalina and The Edge Fitness For Women. I love feeling challenged and leaving there feeling great (and sore). I'm definitely seeing some great results! I look forward to each and every class! Highly recommend!”

“The latest craze to hit the fitness world: Russian kettlebells. They look like canon balls with handles and working with them can resemble hernia-inducing torture. Somehow, a couple years back, I got roped into going to a kettlebells class at Kettlebella - and, let me tell you, I haven't looked back since, have been going to classes weekly, and feel strong like bull (and I'm five feet tall!). There are many kettlebells gyms and studios around Rhode Island and nearby MA, but I boldly state that no class would be as enjoyable, positive, and challenging as the classes at Kettlebella, taught by owner Michaela Foulkes. Her classes are great for men and women, beginning to advanced, as each person works with weights that are appropriate to their ability. Kettlebell training is different from other weight training as it does not isolate muscle groups, but instead builds leg, back, and arm muscles simultaneously with its ballistic and centripetal movements and burns fat at crazy fast rates. There is nothing easy about working with kettlebells, though, and many of the movements can be back and knee injuries waiting to happen. Sensitivity to this fact is why Michaela is such a great trainer. She is a true disciple of the kettlebells movement (her rock hard body is a testament of their effectiveness) and is constantly working to better her form and understanding of them. She believes in stressing correct technique, and gently guides students through the workout with a great blend of blunt critique and positive support. No two of her classes are alike, so each workout is new - even to those who have been attending classes for the two years that she has been open. She always conducts classes using intervals - short, intense bursts of exercise coupled with periods of rest. This is great so students can push themselves pretty far as they know they will be able to rest and recover shortly. Don't be fooled, though, by the small frame and blond hair - Michaela is no airhead. She remembers what weights her students have worked with and constantly challenges them to go up in weight and reps each week. PLUS she always plays killer music to help lessen the blows of her difficult workouts. If you are looking to torch some fat (who isn't?), build strength and stamina in a way that is much more thrilling than a jaunt on some mundane cardio equipment, I highly recommend taking a class with Michaela at Kettlebella.”

“The best part of this Planet Fitness is the outstanding employees. Always friendly and willing to assist with any issue that you may have. The facility is always clean. I previously belonged to a compeitor's gym not far from this location. There is no comparision. This facility is head over heals more superb than the competitor. A job well done where the client is always first and foremost.”
