M&T was my lender for my mortgage and we decided to get a checking account to get a small discount on our interest rate, I regret opening that account so, so much. I've tried to transfer money three times now into their account to auto-pay my mortgage and every time I get a freeze on my account. When I call online banking, they transfer me to the fraud department to fix, when I call the fraud department, they transfer me to the morgage department, when I call the mortgage department, they transfer me to online banking.I've been on the phone for a combined total of 8 hours this week while listening to their automated slow classical because they don't have a sufficient customer support team. This should be a normal issue that's relatively easy to resolve and it's become a nightmare.If you have another place you can bank and you value your time, I highly suggest you don't use M&T

Worst customer service, waited almost an hour trying to open and account and left because no one was helping. They were just talking to each other and just looking at me .

I never had a bad experience the only thing is here recently I went to deposit my payroll into my account it rejected at both machines....I wanna know if the amount of a check being deposit is a certain amount? Someone please let me know

Horrible experience at the M &T @ 1401 W. Market St York 17404. I went through the drive thru to cash a check. I sent the check and my drivers license in the tube. We waited at least 15 minutes before someone inside said, "We will be with you shortly." No Good Morning, nothing! So a few min later, the teller asks me if I would like to cash the check. Ummm, yes... If I wanted it deposited, I would have included a deposit slip. Then teller asks if I have an account with M & T. Well I sent my ID in with my check. Why don't you look it up? Just very dissatisfied!

Worst customer service I have ever received from a Branch Manager. Adam Ropati treated myself and my 84 year old mother horribly! She has had an account there for over 30 years. My father passed away 6 years ago, they are harassing her every 4 days by calling her for death certificate. Took it in, he said he needs an original. They are costly to get. All other banks take a copy. He said he is freezing her account. He was so cocky and seemed to love to stress us. He loved telling us he is freezing her account. She has used the account for 6 years, my fathers name is no where on the account. But all this aside, the treatment from Adam Ropati was the worst i have ever had from any customer related service.
