Bill did a fabulous and efficient job in cataloging and selling the contents of my parent’s home when they moved into an assisted living facility. He was in close contact with me and went above and beyond my expectations. His follow up and continued contact has been much appreciated and I would HIGHLY recommend him and his company to anyone seeking services of this nature!

I do quite a bit of auction buying for a side business I run selling collectibles. Earlier today, I went to pick up an item from an estate auction I had won online that, and after some difficulty finding the home where the sale was located, I called the contact number given in the sale information, and I had the distinct displeasure of speaking to Bill Howze, the owner of Renaissance Auctions. This was the rudest treatment I have EVER received in a decade and a half of dealing with auctioneers. From the second he picked up the phone, Mr. Howze adopted an incredibly condescending and haughty attitude, acting like I was an idiot for not finding the house. Apparently, the Google Maps and Waze information for the location of the house, as well as the map provided by his own appointment signup service was inaccurate, leading to an address with as similar number in a different part of the development, about a block and a half away from where the pickup location was located. Mr. Howze admitted to KNOWING this fact and failed to mention it in either the original listing or ANY of the communications sent out after the auctions. What's more, he went on and lied to my face that he had previously provided both detailed directions and a notice that the GPS would be inaccurate. I have reviewed both the original listing and ALL communications received afterward, and the extent of the directions given were merely the street address and instructions to pull around into the common parking area in the back, with absolutely zero instructions of how to find the home upon entering the maze-like suburban development where the home was located. Incidentally, the incorrect location on GPS ALSO has such a common area with similar numbering, an easy and obvious source of confusion. I continued to drive around looking for the correct house, and when I indicated to Mr. Howze the names of the streets on the intersection, ONE block away from where the actual sale was, he told me he had "no idea where that was." Frustrated, I eventually hung up on him and managed to finally find the correct location myself. Upon arrival, I told him I did not appreciate his attitude, and he intimated that he was not going to release the item to me. I informed him we had a contract, and that I would be happy to pay for the item and never deal with him again, upon which he repeatedly called me a "***** while processing my payment. So much for customer service. Notably, I would like to point out that the other gentleman who was working with Mr. Howze was QUITE polite and professional, making sure the lot I was picking up was complete and wishing me a good day when I left. So it's not like he does not like he lacks a handy example of basic professionalism. The laugh's on him, though, as I am currently preparing an auction of items from the substantial estate of a relative who recently passed away, and his had been one of the houses I had been considering due to his proximity and potential convenience. He can now kiss any chance of the mid-five figures of commissions he would have been likely to have received. I've dealt with most of the auction houses in both Berks and Lancaster County, and in the future would prefer to deal with ANY of them rather than Renaissance.

Soon after learning of the close of Roadside America and planned auction of all features of the spectacular display, I initiated a call to The Renaissance Auction Group; then having the good fortune to speak with Bill Howze. I knew that I wanted to acquire a tangible memento dating back to my earliest memories of visits to Roadside America; my dilemma being the distance factor, in that my residences was in far off California. Over the time of our phone conversation, Bill was not only courteous and patiently willing offer the time needed to address my many questions, including the guidance that I needed to navigate their website and successfully participate in the auction online. Very happy report that I indeed successfully bid on and purchased one of the historic pieces from the layout. Bill furthermore, subsequently helped in both phone and email exchanges, provided a point of contact for a reputable packing and shipping resource that the auction group was working with. What a success story; Bill and his colleagues did an amazing job in working with the good folks with Mail Dock in safely orchestrating that the right items got to the right buyers. Thrilled to report that my purchase was safely delivered over the many miles. MANY MANY THANKS!!!

Bill just recently closed our second auction and I was very satisfied with the outcome. Bill and his team are very easy to work with and accommodating. He is very meticulous on how each lot is presented and takes the time to review each item to be sold. If he does not have any knowledge of an item, he will look the item up for a detailed description to get the most out of your auction. He is always available to discuss any questions a bidder may to prior to the auction and after the auction.I would not hesitate to contract with Bill again.

I recently had Bill Howze of Renaissance Auction Group complete an estate auction that included personal property from multi-generations along with the sale of a car and the house itself. Bill put in a lot of time and effort cataloging and accurately describing property I had long since forgotten we had, for an online auction along with on sight previews. His knowledge and patient detailed guidance throughout the process gave me peace of mind and it was exciting to watch the bidding online in real time. When I could not travel, he went many extra miles helping with a multitude of side issues to include home repairs and final junk removal. Bill delivered everything he promised and more and I could not be happier with the outcome. A great gentleman to work with, I would recommend him to anyone thinking of selling anything via auction.

Bill has an exceptional auction service! He treats everyone and all the items with respect and gets the most for his clients since his clients come first! He is definitely the best person to work with. He is a wealth of knowledge and takes the time to do things right the first time. If he does not know about the item, he finds out to get the most out of your auction. If you are someone purchasing an item from his auctions and you have any questions, ask him, he will do his best to help give you the the best customer service possible! I am lucky I found him as my auctioneer!

The auctioneer comes on very strong (women beware). Not sure if that's part of the character or if he doesn't realize people are uncomfortable. Overall, would not go back or recommend.

purchased some cast iron items from a recent auction and upon further inspection two out of four of the items turned out to be fake even though advertised as real antique cast iron and now I cant resell and i have lost profits from this transaction as I cannot resell them myself I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.
