Our high energy (and high anxiety) whippet has been going to Zdog for daycare and boarding for several months and loves it! The staff is very attentive and goes out of their way to work with him.

After calling an exhaustive number of doggie day care centers. We found Z dogs for our Pearlie girl. She went for two visits to get acquainted before boarding and it was clear that the owner really cares about the dogs there. Pearl was very well taken care of when she was there, they communicated how she acted and we appreciated that. I want them to do well and I will definitely recommend them to any dog owners I know!

Batman loves it here. He almost brakes the door when he visits because he is so excited to get to play all day at the daycare, and he returns home tired and happy

We’ve been taking my dog to zdog for a couple of months now. The staff are great to work with . More importantly, my dog clearly loves them and he loves going to daycare. I highly recommend zdog!

I've been with Z Dog for years now and they are by far the best dog care place in South Philly. Owners are responsive to all questions/schedule changes and are available via email, phone, and text whenever I reach out.My dog Lola loves it there and gets a full day of playtime. Makes my life easier when I'm at work knowing she's in great hands. Highly recommend.

Our dog Frosty loves going to Z-Dog! He has some separation anxiety, so when we first took him to Z-Dog, we were a little worried about how he would do. The staff at Z-Dog came up with a plan for him to get familiar with the environment and has no separation anxiety when coming to day care! The staff are great and all care about the pups. It’s a small, family-owned business, and you can’t go wrong there.

Whenever Rory is slow to get out in the morning, she immediately perks up once she realizes we’re going to ZDog! I’m glad to know she’s in such loving hands while I’m at work. It’s obvious that everyone there loves dogs and treats the dogs that come like their own. I highly recommend ZDog Daycare.

Would highly recommend Z Dog to pet owners in Philly! I was worried about how my anxious/reactive dog would do in daycare and boarding but they were very accommodating and now my pup is so excited to go every week. It's been great to keep her socialized and get her energy out so she stays healthy! I've also boarded her there multiple times for a week or weekends when I'm traveling and it's been great - they've even been very flexible with extending and shortening stays when my travel plans have been disrupted. Definitely encourage people to check out Z Dog for their pet sitting needs :)

We’ve had a great experience with zdog. Our pup Luna is anxious, and they make a special effort to keep her with smaller groups of dogs so she’s comfortable. Zdog is the only place where she gets along with other dogs, which is great to help her socialize. They’re also always very accommodating of last minute bookings!

My dog loves going here! The second day he went he ran inside. The staff are so caring and I love the pictures and videos of him they post.

This place is so unprofessional and so unorganized. They are super overpriced for day care and weekend stays. They are not responsive through emails or phone calls, especially if you are trying to get your money refunded. Both of the owners are never on the same page and will give you a different response for any questions asked. I recently tried to get refunded for a week because they decided they did not want to watch my dog for his stomach issues even though I provided a vet note stating he can return and is not contagious or a danger to others. When I called and emailed them THREE TIMES they finally answered me and stated their policy says they can terminate services whenever they feel like it. Disgusting establishment, I DO NOT RECOMMEND sending your dog here.

Let me start by saying that I like small businesses - especially when they are family-owned and operated. My hope is that I can modify or remove this review when the owners do, in fact, follow up with me. Long story short, this review is about communication. When you are putting your dog in the hands of another person, the most important things you care about are trust and honesty. I do not feel as though Z Dog's owners instilled either of those in me when they watched my dog. Granted, our interaction was brief, but all the more reason that these two are important traits in a small business. I was put in a difficult position when Hurricane Ida hit Philadelphia last week. I had two weddings over the long Labor Day weekend, so when my boarding facility flooded, I was left with very few options in Philadelphia for dog care. I called around and Z Dog sounded like a great option - they were willing to see me that day for a trial and, if all went well, I could leave my dog there Saturday morning through Wednesday evening. When my husband arrived to the facility, Natalie showed him and my dog around and Natalie said she saw no reason why this wouldn't work out. She asked that we leave our dog there for a few more hours to see how he interacted with the other dogs, so my husband left feeling optimistic. 1.5 hours into the 4 hour trial, we received a very cryptic email that they didn't feel as if their facility was the right place for our dog to be boarded and that we should find alternate arrangements for that weekend. This would have been fine if we heard the full story from them when we showed up. Unfortunately, when my husband returned, Jose quickly handed over the leash to my husband and said to email Natalie for more information. He gave 0 details to my husband about why they proceeded in the fashion they did. They knew that we were in a pickle, so it would have been appreciated if they could have given some background on what happened. As requested, my husband sent Natalie a note that evening - Friday. Granted, it was a holiday weekend, but it has been SIX DAYS and she still has not sent us a note explaining what happened. I tried calling two yesterday (Wednesday) knowing it might have been a busy weekend, but no response. To make matters even worse, they charged us $75 for 4 hours of dog care - $40 for the day care (fine, this is understandable), but then $25 for the "orientation" which apparently was a 5 minute tour and then a $10 charge for Labor Day (this was on Friday early afternoon). $75 for dog care when you don't end up taking my dog and then you can't respond with a simple note on what happened is incredibly disappointing. Again, I trust that Natalie and Jose are doing the best they can, but how can I trust that something bad didn't happen when they can't even let me know why they couldn't take him? Everything seemed fine when my husband left, so it would be appreciated if they could explain why the situation changed so suddenly. A simple email or some type of communication could leave me feeling much more confident in their ability to provide good dog care to your beloved pet. Proceed with caution...

We had a great experience boarding our senior citizen bull terrier Chess at Z Dog. This is a family run business and you can tell they love canines and will treat your fur family like family.

Just called and requested a last minute booking hoping they had some availability and the woman was extremely rude and irritated and said it was impossible and hung up on me. I understand if there was no availability but to be extremely rude and hang up on me in the middle of responding is extremely rude. I will not be returning or considering this place ever in the future if this is an example of how they treat people let alone our dogs.

We used Z Dog to board our bull terrier and they were fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for your boarding or pet care needs. They are a family business and clearly 'dog people' that will treat your fur child like you would.
