Hidden gem to take a break from a busy city (and Walmart).
Plenty of trash and recycle cans around the area.
Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly area, the owner should curb and clean after their dogs.
I just wish the city provides the doggy bag and disposal station there.

It was from this very pier that I witnessed the battleship New Jersey be transported down the Delaware. Nice Pier, garbage path leading to it along the river. Good view of the Chicken Pier.

Pier 68 in Philadelphia is a delightful spot that has been transformed from an industrial past to a vibrant public space. It’s a place where the community can engage with the waterfront in various ways, whether it’s through fishing, lounging on the lawn, or simply enjoying the view of the river as boats pass by. The pier’s design incorporates smooth surfaces and angular geometries, offering a modern aesthetic that contrasts with the natural flow of the river. The addition of the Delaware River Trail has increased accessibility, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike who are looking to experience the Philadelphia Waterfront in a new light. With a perfect 5-star rating, it’s clear that Pier 68 has become a cherished part of the city’s landscape.

Dog-friendliness: Have to be careful as the City has several feral cat stations set up along the Pier jogpaths.

Went for my first run of the season this morning. It's definitely still a little chilly, 38°, but warm enough to work up a little sweat as you settle into your run. The fresh air at the pier is perfect to get you in the mood... #Spring #AlmostSummer

Not what I expected at all. No green space, huge homeless encampment, not a great view.
