If you cant afford Spruce Hill - City Center Academy, its a great alternative. The facilities are quaint, but class size is small and the teachers care. A Good Christian School!

I attended this school in my 9th grade year and it has a almost cult like structure to it.The teachers were radical Christian fundamentalist! A lot of false teachings and bashing of the seventh day Adventist church. You got treated better the more money your parents donated to the school. I’m surprised after these years that school is still open! The state definitely needs to investigate and come in and take over!

I enrolled my kids at BCC thinking it was a good, well structured school but as time went on I realized it wasn’t a great choice. I’ve never encountered so many unprofessional people at a school until now. I’ve been called on days school was closed (Sunday) to be reminded of payment not to mention the late fee which is $100. Why is their late fee more than Capital One late fee? Not to mention to get a sibling discount, you have to volunteer at the school for 40 hrs just to get $20 off tuition each month. I wasn’t too fond of administration asking parents to buy their kids teachers presents for the holidays either. My son had a play (which was held at a church & after the play, they asked for “offering” as if it was church service & I just received the word). When it snowed, the school couldn’t get anyone to plow the driveway or parking lot so school was closed for a few extra days and they even asked parents to volunteer to plow & shovel as if that high ass tuition isn’t enough. My kids also went there for camp and I don’t know how I was still making camp paying In the middle of the school year. I feel like the book keeper was reading books instead of keeping track of them!! This school is definitely all about money. Since my kids left they’ve been doin much better & most of all I don’t have to deal with being called outside of business hours in reference to a payment that I haven’t forgotten or all the unexplainable reasons to give them money

My three grandchildren all attended Blair Christian Academy and now that two have been out for some time, I can truly appreciate the foundation that was instilled in them at Blair. My oldest grandchild is on her way to college, my second grandchild just finished his freshman year at a magnet high school program, and my youngest grandchild is doing exceptionally well. Blair's foundation prepared them academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. It is such a blessing when you can see the growth of your children's children.

When returning to work after being home for a few years with my children, we looked at many options for childcare in our area. We chose Blair Christian Academy because they offer a safe, caring environment that nurtures children to love God and develops their minds as well. I would recommend BCA if you are looking for a small, family environment with staff that will treat your children like they are their own.

I have been affiliated with BCA for approx 11 years. When my daughter & son-in-law returned to Philadelphia, I recommended they enroll their child, my grandbaby, in BCA's pre-k program. She has been there for 3 yrs. We are pleased with my grandbaby's spiritual, academic & social development. She's also learning Spanish. The teachers are loving. The children respect the adults & each other. BCA assists in the growth of her personal relationship with God. My grandbaby loves to worship the Lord and now she does in English & Spanish. I love it!

Just asked a simple question and just go ragged on by your person in "Finance". My kids went there for the Summer time. I just called for year end payment information that's given out to the parents.BEING AN ACCOUNTANT FOR 15 YEARS, I KNOW that a statement should be issued to parents stating that this organization received payment of more than $600 from this person/people. This short-tempered person answered the phone saying that she didn't want to go back and forth about how much she didn't know about accounting (in the Finance department) and how I had to add up my receipts that I received from them (I was just double checking) "Use THAT!" Then this person proceeded to tell me that I would have to wait 10 days for her to look in the system to tell me how much I gave for Summer camp. I use an accounting system and it takes TWO MINUTES TOPS to look up that info. Granted, I would have given her a few days to do that. I SWEAR I will NEVER send my kids back to that place! And it's a shame because it has the potential and the facilities to be a GREAT school. There are just A LOT of unprofessional nasty spirited people working there who don't tend to think that parents can take their money elsewhere. FOR REAL! I will say that Dr. Jenkins is pretty nice. She and her daughter, to me , are the only ones who are willing to gently talk things out and resolve problems, which I appreciated. Her staff, a familiar mess.

My sons teacher resigned in the middle of the year! They did not have HEAT! And most importantly my son was sick in and out the hospital for three weeks with respiratory problems only to find out it was because the school has MOLD

my son is doing so much better with academics & achieving more and since I took him out of Blair Christian Academy, the teachers at Blair are not the brightest, my son actually did worst while attending Blair, the bus service is horrible, the teachers are not accredited & overall the school deserves a '1' star, they care more about the money & tuition than the education, and that's definitely not fair for the kids, I wish Blair Christian Academy The Best, but I switched my son to another Private school & he is doing so much better..

Any positive review your read are written by administration. The only positives are the children and the parents that genuinely want the best for them. The school itself is a shameful waste of your money and child's development. There is absolutely no security. They buzz anyone in and do not even look half the time to see who came in.They find any and every excuse not to be open or dismiss early, yet have no problem charging you full tuition for the month.Staff will look at their wrist watch right in front of your face, so you better talk fast and get your kid outta there faster.Unsanitary. Have they ever heard of paint? How about bleach? Don't expect to be kept informed of what is going on, when, or why, but if they want money, you will know 2 months in advance.Staff turn-over is high so you can expect to see a new face in front of your child at least 1-2 times during the year. No credentials are ever offered to a parent so you can only hope that they are legitimate. So why did my child end up enrolled?Because this is Philadelphia. The public school system is frightening.Blair Christian knows this. And they take advantage of parents desperation.I ignored the dimly lit halls, broken water fountains, unfriendly staff because I hoped the school poured all of its money/focus into extra-curricular activities & other children-focused things.Blair Christian Academy is a disgrace. Shame on you BCA.
