Not a giant garden, but a neatly kept English garden. Worth a stop.

This is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. Almost a secret garden hidden in plain sight. There’s a romantic bench in the middle for stealing kisses like it’s 1799.

This 18th century-style garden is a free, serene spot with a latticed gazebo for relaxing that's not far from the historic Independence Hall area. It is maintained by the National Park Service with some seating and it's handicap accessible. We enjoy strolling the garden at different times of year. Given our current drought, it's mainly trimmed boxwood hedges now. The garden was dedicated in 1966 by Ladybird Johnson.

Ever get the impression that folks knew what they were doing back then, more than they do now. Stopping by this 18th Century Garden, you sure get the impression that they knew a lot better than us. The garden was beautiful and meticulously kept.

Everything about this place reminds me of the history of this ancient city. We had a tour guide who took us round while sharing stories of its origin. I loved it here and would visit again if I ever have the opportunity
