On whim the other day, my dad and I picked up three cheeses from the farm stand to serve at our holiday meal today. Oh, my goodness, how delightful a decision that was! The Thistle, a brie-style, was very delicious, either on it's own, or with a touch of honey. I'm excited to get this again, and see how it changes season to season. The ash-rind Witchgrass was a beautiful surprise! Rich, but bright and tart, it held up to strong flavors, like my homemade onion jam with citrus and peppercorns, perfectly. I can see an infinite number of serving possibilities for this one. The alpine tomme style Marigold went beautifully with dried fruit and toasted almonds, but I'm really looking forward to popping it under the broiler on toast tomorrow! I'm so very thrilled to have such skilled cheesemakers so close!

These folks have the finest cheeses, breads, fresh veggies, eggs among other things and the best butter and sour cream ever when it's available. All grown, raised and prepared from local people, even purchased a loaf of wheat bread made from wheat grown on the property. That's special!

We visited to attend their cheese pairing course. Brie was an excellent host, and we had a great time learning about different tastes in cheese and seeing how a variety of drinks can complement them. They serve their cheeses throughout and they were all delightful. I'd definitely recommend their course if you are a cheese enthusiast!The site has an antique farm feel. They sell cheese on site and some local farmer goods too. We picked up two chunks of cheese for $10 each. Bring cash or a check to be safe if stopping by.
