I recently got a bill from Bill Vandergrift, Inc. for the installation of a drier. I had written a check for $910.54 which I thought was for the full bill. Come to find out that they snuck in a cover plate fee and a vent kit fee. Even a side vent fee which, if I paid them would result in a third of the original cost. So, the cost went from 910 to 1283. There was no talk of install fees, etc. in our initial consultation. This is bad business 101. I'll call the better business bureau on Monday and report this bs.

Do NOT use this company. The service is terrible, we were delivered a defective product and left without a dishwasher for an extended period of time and the company refused to refund us for the delivery issues after months of us having to follow up without hearing back. We should have went to Lowe’s to begin with, this is not the type of experience I’d expect from a mom and pop shop. Extremely disappointed.

From the moment I first walked into Bill Vandegrift Appliances, I knew this was not just any appliance store. Having known the Vandergrift family for years, I've witnessed firsthand the unparalleled dedication they have to their customers and the community at large. It's rare to find a business that genuinely feels like a pillar of the community, consistently going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. That's why I'm more than happy to share my experiences and provide this well-deserved feedback. After years of exceptional service, personal interactions, and witnessing their continuous support for our community, I cannot recommend Bill Vandegrift Appliances enough. They exemplify what it means to be a community-centric business, offering not just products, but valuable knowledge, support, and an unwavering commitment to their customers. To anyone in need of appliances, advice, or simply wanting to support a local business that genuinely cares, look no further than Bill Vandergrift Appliances. Your expectations will not only be met but exceeded. Thanks to Lindsay and all the staff!!

I recently changed my appliance provider to Bill Vandergrift Inc, and couldn’t be more pleased. I have custom-made cabinetry in my kitchen and needed to replace my gas range top. My concern was all about installation; I feared cutting/damaging my cabinets. BV did an incredible job fitting the new range top. The crew that was in my home twice (once for measurements, once to install) could not have been nicer, more prompt, helpful, clean working… could not have been more professional. You’ve won my future business.

Friendly family owned store. The sales team here does a wonderful job and don't try and sell you what you don't need. The installers are professional and tidy.

The owner Lindsay told me she would call her attorney if we left a bad review. Her intimation did not work. This was our third and FINAL purchase. We bought a dishwasher and paid BV to install it.The installer partly installed it, but he did not have all the parts, and he told us he would be back in a few days...he never came back or called until we had the machine removed from our home. The dishwasher would not dry, and they stopped working altogether. BV was no help, and we did call the manufacturer and were able to get a refund only because the manufacturer stepped in .BV still charged us for an install they never completed and refused to refund it, and the dishwasher was removed for being a lemon. It was about $290. I even offered to split it and was told NO...total rip-off for charging us for something that was NEVER completedWe try to buy mom & pop, but this kind of purchase you are better at big box stores. Thank you, Lowes, for saving the dayThanks to the manufacturer for stepping in when BV ignored usPS, always use a credit card here. We made the mistake of using a check.

I recently purchased a new dishwasher, washer, and dryer from Vandegrift. The team kept me up to date on what was backordered and what was ready to be installed. The scheduler (Gemma) was very kind and answered all my questions.Installation was not easy due to the age and size of my condo - Joe and Alex worked very hard to get everything installed in what ended up being an all-day install. They worked through rain and with about a quarter inch of room to get the washer and dryer (stacked) in and the dishwasher as well. I really appreciate everyone's help to get these appliances installed and willingness to problem solve during the process. My condo was left clean and they did a test run of all 3 appliances.

I had the best experience twice with Bill Vandergrift, Inc., once when I bought a dishwasher earlier this year and a refrigerator just today. My issue with "finding" a refrigerator was problematic because my space was too small for most choices by only 1/4 inch, but they solved it for me saving me a lot of money on the tiny expansion I would have needed otherwise. Someone from Vandergrift's came out promptly and measured the space to be sure of what options could resolve my needs. They found three that fit and I decided on one that was a clear winner. I couldn't be happier and I love my new fridge,......dishwasher too. I will be back for a washer and dryer soon and a basement fridge as well. Thank you again to Lindsey who was patient with this situation and very efficient at helping me.

Horrible Service! We purchased the appliances from them, which was great and great service installing. However, dealing with service person, Faith, was an absolute nightmare. A month now, cause they messed around not just half trying to figure things out. She states she will get back to you but never does. Needed to bring the sales person into the story to get this completed. A once great business going towards bankruptcy as this was last of dealing with them.

Poor follow through , poor customer service on returning phone calls , extremely difficult to get an answer. I left numerous calls ( with details) and even stopped in the store in hoping to get answers about my order and no follow through . Worked with Lindsey and my 9month transaction is still pending for a subzero mini fridge. It’s sad that i need to take my business elsewhere.

I can’t say enough about the staff and service at Vandegrift! They have been supremely helpful when I’ve purchased and had appliances installed. Even more though, they have willingly, promptly and knowledgeably repaired appliances I bought elsewhere in the past. Just today Sean came out to assess a problem with my dishwasher. He was so helpful. He took the time to explain the problem and solved it quickly. And I have to compliment Faith who is always there when I call with a problem. I can’t think of another appliance company who is so helpful and I’ve dealt with quite a few.

Before moving to Doylestown 26 years ago, we had always purchased appliances from one of the big box stores. We walked into Vandegrift’s and had them replace our kitchen appliances followed by a washer and dryer.Vandegrift’s excels in all aspects of a well run appliance dealer. They sell only reliable quality brands and products and they’re very price competitive for the same products regardless of where you look including the big box stores. If we happened to ask for a particular model and Vandegrift’s informed us that they had performed an excessive number of service calls on it, they’ve always been straightforward with us and have recommended another product without us ever feeling they were upselling. On the contrary, we always felt they had nothing but our best interests at heart.Over the years that we’ve purchased appliances from Vandegrift’s, there has been a total of only two service calls and they were both covered within the warranty period. Vandegrift’s responsiveness has been nothing but incredible by scheduling and performing the repair by one of their very well trained and experienced service technicians within two days of our placing the call. They’re truly the best one stop appliance shopping experience from the point of sale, installation, warranty and general information support, repair and overall customer service. These are characteristics that simply don’t exist at a big box retailer or at any of the other local independent dealers. As a result, we’ve referred many people to Vandegrift’s and we’ll continue to do so.Our most recent experience involved replacing our kitchen appliances again due to a remodel during 2021 in the middle of the pandemic. While most of the appliances arrived and were installed by Vandegrift’s careful and well experienced installers within four to six months of placing the order, one of the appliances was a nightmare to obtain with absolutely no fault of anyone at Vandegrift’s. The manufacturer (Bosch/Thermador) provided no communication whatsoever to Vandegrift’s or us regarding an estimated arrival date regardless of the number of inquiries. Regardless of how many times we asked Vandegrift’s to inquire (which we were doing almost biweekly for over a year!), Vandegrift’s was always optimistic and willing to try to help and never gave us the feeling that we were a bother. This was all during a very unique time when people are continuing to be completely unreasonable by taking their frustrations out on the dealer for matters that are completely out of the dealer’s control. These people should take the time and call the manufacturers directly regarding their order and they’ll quickly learn where the problem lies. Everyone at Vandegrift’s wanted our kitchen complete as much as we did. After 17 months of placing the order, the appliance finally arrived last month and our kitchen was finally complete. The staff at Vandegrift’s was just as happy as we were to the point that it was if they were the ones waiting for the appliance in order to complete one of there own kitchens!Regarding the negative reviews posted in this forum, people choose to ignore the advice that they’re given by the dealer because they simply don’t like what they hear, take matters into their own hands and then turn around and blame the dealer when things go south. If Vandegrift’s told us that they couldn’t do something, we heeded their advice and worked with them towards an acceptable alternative approach. In summary, working with Vandegrift’s all these years has been a great experience and we wouldn’t have picked anyone else to help us put the dream kitchen together we now have. We started working with Bill 26 years ago and he has handed business operations over to his daughter, Lindsay, who has done nothing less than a superb job continuing to run the business. She is supported by the same great people, Daryl and Faith, that we have also come to know very well over the past two decades and we wouldn’t recommend anyone other than Vandegrift’s for any or all of your appliance needs.

I sincerely regret having to write such a negative review, as Vandegrift came highly recommended to me by my parents, who had a good experience with their company about 5 years ago. However, I suspect the company has not fared well since Mr. Vandegrift stepped away from running the business. My installation was complicated by the need to install a new oven, and gas cooktop/downdraft vent into an existing kitchen. As such, prior to ordering anything, I meticulously read the appliance installation manuals and measured my existing spaces to ensure a smooth installation process.Despite these preparations, Vandegrift's staff never paid my needs and advice any regard. Their installer made a superficial survey of my house after the first part of the order had been delivered, telling me the job couldn't be done, informing me that the appliances should be returned minus a restocking fee. I easily countered every point he made. Moreover, when I asked if he had even measured, he said he just eyeballed it from 20 feet away. Of course, he was wrong in his assessment. Then, multiple phone calls were needed to coordinate the appointments of the granite cutter and Vandegrift's installers. They let 6 weeks pass after all the appliances arrived in their warehouse and ultimately, I was responsible for coordinating these appointments, even though I couldn't attest to their installers' availability when scheduling with the granite cutter. Multiple additional calls were required to straighten out the dates. Then, they only partially completed the installation, refusing to connect the gas cooktop until a new cabinet faceplate was installed. Of course, I told them I needed this faceplate the day I ordered the appliances and multiple times thereafter. Indeed, I was able to fabricate a temporary one in an hour, the night after they partially installed the cooktop. If only they had been more organized and on top of the project, this confusion and delay could have been avoided. In fact, they delayed finishing the project for a whole week, all the while demanding I pay for their second visit to finish the job. They even asked me to pay a restocking fee on an unnecessary part they mistakenly ordered! When I refused, Lindsey (Bill's daughter) told my wife they would not service my appliances in the future. No concern there -- as I would never consider using them again. And these are only some of the issues I experienced during this nightmare.Be forewarned. I recommend ordering online and finding a local installer who is easier to work with, and charges less than their hourly labor rate -- $149 per hour.
