I have the cutest French bulldog and they have terrible way of making your dog feel comfortable they clearly make it stated that they are there for their job and their job only I will never return back to this vet again hands down the worse doctors I have ever ran into they have no patience when being asked a question

We took my mother's cat there and mom liked her so much better than her previous very. She listened, was very thorough, put mom's cat on a diet and gave her some smear drops. The female vet really cares

Our Sparkle, 9 1/2 years old, wasn't doing well for the last week. She is one, sorry, was one to hide from anything that was wrong with her. For her first 3 years of her life, she was an outside cat that belonged to one of three community colonies or was abandoned (not too, totally sure). After my mom saw her, my mom immediately wanted her. So, we wanted to help with the cat population, and after a while, we found out she needed an immediate hysterectomy due to pyrometria. Then, after about a year, she was diagnosed with diabetes. Of course, this had to happen the week my mom and I were set to move to Pittsburgh from Charleston, SC. We didn't have any insulin to take with us in the 24 hours it took us to get here because of no ice on board, but she went into remission, and we have no idea how.
Fast forward to the last week. I noticed that her sides were getting wide. I was worried that she had a blockage. After searching for a while for a great rating vet, I saw Monroeville Pet Hospital, and I liked what I saw. So, I went on their website, looked around, and sent a message. Michele called me and offered an appointment that day.
Dr. Oster was straightforward but kind as well. Sparkle had fluid in her chest cavity and in her abdominal cavity. She told me that I could spend tens of thousands of dollars just to come to the same outcome. We both agreed that Sparkle should be in "hospice" care. Dr. Oster also told me that Sparkle would let me know when she's ready to go.
Sparkle was never one to hide, even if something scared her. She would just go to another open area. Well, after she ate wet food for the last time and just got the tip of her tongue wet, she then went into my room to go under my bed. This was officially her way of telling me that she was ready to go meet St. Francis of Assisi. Of course, I left out some minor details but not the important ones.
I messaged Michele again, and she was able to get me in all this week. I met Dr. Aiello and she said I was doing the right thing. When I brought Sparkle in for the final time, she had gotten worse. I won't give the details. I've had pets all my life, and even while I was in the womb, however, it never gets easier to say goodbye.
Dr. Aiello talked me through everything that she was going to do. Even though I knew the process, I appreciated that she did that. I was used to a one step process instead of a two-step process. Dr. Aiello told me that the first injection does sting a little bit, but this is to relax Sparkle. In the photo that Sparkle's head is down into her blanket, this is that step taking effect. Dr. Aiello said it would take about 5 minutes. It only took 3 minutes. Then, it was time to say goodbye. Sparkle crossed over just a few minutes later. What I noticed when Sparkle left, Dr. Aiello covered up Sparkle. That gentle gesture meant so much to me. I was able to spend as much time with Sparkle as I needed and try to compose myself.
I would highly recommend Monroeville Pet Hospital. They took great care of Sparkle. Thank you to everyone who helped Sparkle cross over.

Dr. Oster and her staff are friendly and professional. I have been taking my pets to Monroeville Pet Hospital for over a decade now, and I have never been disappointed with the care my pets have received. I know Dr. Oster will give me her professional and personal opinion on all the care options available, especially when it comes to the difficult choices we sometimes have to make for our pets.
I would recommend this practice to anyone in the area seeking care for their beloved pets.

The Vet's themselves are knowledgeable but they did make a mistake with my scheduling with the incorrect Vet and would not rectify it. I was told I had to pay for the exam fee again to see the correct Veterinarian even though they admitted fault.

We have been using the Monroeville Pet Hospital for over 30 years- seeing Dr Jana Oster. She has provided excellent care for our evolving cast of pets - 7 dogs and 5 cats. We have always been impressed with the whole staff including the receptionists, the vet techs and of course Dr. Oster. They are always kind and courteous - listening carefully to ensure our animals receive the best care.

I used Monroeville Pet Hospital from Sept. 2006 until our dog's passing on June 10, 2024. We unfortunately had to make the decision to let our dog go instead of making her suffer from kidney failure. The ENTIRE staff couldn't have been nicer or more compassionate. My husband and I were quite upset when we arrived with our sweet dog and they were so incredibly kind to get us in a room right away so we could be alone with our dog instead of out in the waiting area. Dr. Oster was on vacation that week and the doctor who was filling in (Her name escapes me. I wasn't quite thinking right that day to remember her name.) was very kind during the whole process of putting our sweet dog to rest. The following week when Dr. Oster got back from vacation and learned of our sweet Willow's passing she called to see how we were doing and express her condolences. She expressed what a sweet dog Willow was and listened to me about every thought that I had about missing her and people bothering me about getting a new dog and how much that bothered me. She took so much time to speak with me when she could have rushed me off of the phone especially when there was nothing in it for her because we don't have any other pets that she is taking care of for us. We have had the best experience with Dr. Oster over all of our sweet Willow's life. She is knowledgeable and compassionate even though it doesn't come across that way to people who haven't experienced her for as many years as we had. You can't go wrong with seeing Dr. Oster. Not only do I miss our dog, I miss seeing the entire wonderful staff at Monroeville Pet Hospital.

I would suggest you not use this business. I had an issue with one of the nurses being rude and argumentative. Mostly about them extorting us to use their online pharmacy. They hate chewy and have issues with people who use chewy's pharmacy. Aggressively hate chewy. It's actually kind of weird how much one of their doctors trash talked chewy. So I said I would speak to a manager about the issue the next day and then the nurse exaggerated the issue to such a high degree to try and cover for her rudness that when I spoke to the manager they said it was fine we wanted to leave the practise. I never said that. I said if we can't resolve the issue, we would find a new practice. So she lied to cover for her rudness. Instead of getting both sides to the actual story, they just decided that rude employee trying to cover their ass were in the right. I noticed that other reviews that I should have checked first that attitude with customers seems to be an ongoing issue with this business. It's a pity because other than one kind of weirdly aggressive doctor trash talking chewy and this one incident with the nurse, we were satisfied. Make sure you READ the bad reviews of a place, too. They might be more of the truth than the business likes.
