A Lancaster native, I have lived out-of-state and now overseas off and on for many years. As a result, I have experience with a number of self-storage places in the Lancaster area, and found this one the best in all attributes - until last summer.
After my mother's funeral in 2013, I put some things in storage with the intention of shipping them over to London in due course. With too much clutter at my home in the UK, I kept postponing clearing out my unit at Premier Self Storage. After paying monthly by Visa over 10 years, I discovered last fall that my automatic payments were no longer being processed. Naturally, I contacted management and discovered that they had moved to a new payment system, and, at least temporarily, could not accommodate payment with a billing address outside the US. Fortunately, my brother was able help out and paid my rent several months in advance.
As of 3/24, it appeared they cannot accommodate renters with a billing address outside the US even if payment is made via a US bank. This is extremely frustrating, especially as management cannot provide answers to questions posed in a timely manner. Nonetheless, I recognize that only a negligible percentage of renters are in my situation. But if you are and wish to pay on a normal monthly schedule, then the preceding information is important to know.
I am in the process of arranging to pay my rent several months in advance (again via my brother) to give me time to come back to Lancaster to clear out the locker and ship any essential items to England while disposing of the rest.
My rating based on my experience to mid-2023 was 5-star ....
Update 4/24: I have now paid in advance again. However, replies to queries have taken an inexcusably long time. Sadly, I must now rate customer service as poor and management bordering on incompetent. Therefore, I have regrettably downgraded my rating to 1-star.

First time using Premier- I wanted a temp controlled unit to store my motorcycle for the cold winter season, and couldn’t beat their competitive rates and 24/7 access to your unit! One of the only storages that allowed me to store a motorcycle indoors. Thank you!

Ive been renting from this establishment for several years. My rent is always paid multiple months ahead. Rented a second unit 30 days ago on third floor. Placed some boxes in it. Then came back a couple weeks later on a Saturday and the elevator will not leave the 1st floor. The code I was given worked the first time but not now. Now I've a truck full of boxes that I can't unload, thus causing serious hatdship for myself and a number of others. The posted hours say Sat 10:00 - 2:00. No attendant was around during that time. No call back after leaving 4 messages. This is a problem with this business. I routinely have not found an attendant during thier posted business hours. If this were my employee I would be looking for a more reliable replacement. The attendant does not have an off-hours or emergency number to help with situations such as this. ZERO STARS if I could.

While I love this place I can only give it 4 start because there never any staff there when we go we go at different times of day and there is never anyone there to answer questions and when they call they do not leave voice mails

I recently rented a storage unit here. Graham in the office is exceptional and he is there is you have any questions or need anything. The unit was spotless and they have all kinds of moving supplies for people to use. The temperature is always comfortable in there. Great place to rent from if you need a storage space.

Staff seams friendly enough. As seen in previous review they do not hold to their posted business hours. This is not a good business practice. Try calling multiple times on Friday and did not get any response. Drove there on Saturday and was told "I closed early yesterday."
