I am a filmmaker from Portugal who moved to Pennsylvania in the spring of 2021 at the invitation of a film production company based out of New York city and Allentown. When I arrived I bought an old Cayenne with 90k miles and I was very deceived by the seller. The car came full of mechanical problems until I got stuck in the middle of the road in need of a tow. A friend at Triple A tow insurance recommended me to Phil's Automotive knowing that they are the Porsche knowledge in the LH valley area. I called and Tom answered the phone where he told me immediately that they were not open to new customers at the moment. I have explained my situation and Tom decided to help me and said to tow the car to Phil's. And that's what I did...I have since discovered that yes, they are without a doubt the best auto garage in the entire area and the people are friendly and honest. They explain the problems in detail and I can say that until now I have never found such a garage in the entire LH valley like these guys, they claim that usually clients only leave them when they move out of state or when they die, I can truly see why and I do say thank you so much for having me and above all for the camaraderie, much appreciated.

We were out of state when car started a rattling sound, it was final hour in the weekend. Phil and his staff answered the call and agreed to help. They found the problem quickly, re-attached the lose part and sent us safely on the road. It was a wonderful act of kindness that will earn your trust and gratitude for years to come.

Broke down driving home from vacation and Phil had me back running and on the road in under an hour. He even ordered the parts before the tow truck brought me there to expedite the process. I highly recommend this place.

They've been great to me. They are one of a very few independent shops that can handle the electronics on modern cars — they took care of some mysterious stuff on a German car I had, which had a notoriously complex electrical system. They nailed an emissions system problem on my Japanese minivan, so the check engine light never comes back on. (Another reviewer said they can't handle electronic stuff. That hasn't been my experience.) Whenever I go to pick the car up, they give me a huge, thorough explanation of what they did and why and what they observed. More than once, I've seen quarter-million-dollar collector cars there for restoration and rebuild. There are ALWAYS Porsches parked out front. This is where the big boys take their most precious toys. And yet, they treat me nicely when I show up with a 10-year-old econobox. They aren't the cheapest, but they are painstaking. They take cash or check.

These are honest guys who know there stuff and treat your vehicle like it was there own. I have been a customer for over six years and continue to recommend them to my friends. I took my truck there a few years ago for a slow tire leak. They were diligent in searching out the issue... removed the tire, cleaned up some corrosion on the wheel and eliminated the problem. They spent well over an hour on the problem and refused to charge me; rather they told me to come back again when I had some 'real' work to be done. And I did. They are very competent in working on a range of equipment. They do work on my 13 year old truck; they swapped out the engine in my wife's newer Acura after she swamped it; and they work on my Porsche. They fix what you bring it in for and sort out whatever else needs to be done. Like I said, they treat your vehicle like there own. They are not the cheapest shop in town and there is a reason. I don't go to the cheapest restaurants, to don't go to the cheapest doctor, I don't buy the cheapest stuff... I believe you get what you pay for. They charge a fair price for the quality of work they do and they deliver a good value.

Took my classic car there to have it given a once over as I just bought the car off eBay. Watched as the owner gave the keys to his son and take it for a test drive. Expecting maybe $100 for labor, I was charged over $300 to fix my starter. Ok, maybe it was malfunctioning and they solved an issue. Paid them in cash and left. Leave the garage and my car will not shift out of 1st (GM TH-400 automatic). Promptly return and tell the owner what is happening. Asked if his kid driving did anything. Owner YELLS at me and gives me grief for accusing his shop of ruining my transmission. Drive the car there and transmission shifted fine, left a week later and only 1st gear. Maybe they treat their friends and long time customers better?

They are nice guys but they don't have any new equipment to diagnose problems. They do better work if that doesn't involve lot of electronic stuff. You can really trust them for their work. Also, remember they accept only cash as payment. I certainly recommend them to my friends
