Such an amazing experience. The vet & her staff were down to earth, so comforting, and kind and I can't thank them all enough for how great they were with my dog, Finny!

We have taken all of our fur babies here for several years now, and the staff has always been friendly and caring. We have had several who needed teeth removed due to age or medical issues, and they have always taken such great care of them. We've never had to worry whether they were in good hands. Also, one of our cats who doesn't feel the need to groom himself gets an AMAZING haircut every summer and looks like a new man :) He is very pleased with this vet as well. Dr. Distler has always been very knowledgeable and never makes us feel rushed, even if she's running a bit behind, which obviously happens from time to time. I would 100% recommend this practice!

The only place I will take any animal. A friend referred me to Dr. Distler a few years ago. My cat had an ear hematoma and Dr. Distler did the surgery. His ear healed perfectly with no scar tissue, doesn’t feel or look like he had surgery. Had weekly follow up appointments for 3 weeks at no charge minus maybe one med fill. I have seen another cat with the same surgery done by another vet a few months ago and was shocked at the difference. Their ear was hard and deformed, and was informed their vet did not need any follow up appointments. They also paid double what I paid! The proof is in Dr. Distler's work! An honest, genuine, affordable vet would seem hard to find. She tops all expectations. Her staff is the best and treat my cat like their own. We always leave appointments talking about how much we love this place.
I refer everyone who asks to this place and will continue to do so. I drive from Harrisburg with no complaints. Trust me it’s worth it.
1st picture is one week after surgery. 2nd is a little over two months. ****his ear was clipped as a rescue prior to any of Dr.Distler’s services***

Our cat is diabetic and everyone that works there act like it’s their pet. The vet is awesome and right to the point and we like that.

We use Elizabethtown Animal Hospital for all of our rescue cats. They have always gotten us in for appointments within a reasonable time frame which allows us to adopt out more cats. They always show such kindness and compassion. It is obvious that they care about their patients. The prices are always extremely reasonable for surgeries and routine care. A recent intake required an additional, unexpected surgery and Elizabethtown Animal Hospital provided care at no charge. They even allow us to have a cat available for adoption at the hospital so people can meet them! We are so thankful that this hospital allows us to rescue, help, and adopt out so many cats.

So thankful to this animal hospital for being there for us in a time of need. The staff is super sweet and friendly. They all really do seem like they care, which was very calming after coming from an experience where the people who were supposed to help us left us with more problems. I would absolutely recommend taking your pets here they will be in amazing care.

I've been to a few different vets and this one is by far the best. Dr. Distler is very compassionate and honest. She was able to see issues immediately that other vets overlooked. I will always be taking my animals here from now on and I am confident they are in good hands.

UPDATE 3/1/24
Our new Vet contacted this business to collect our dogs medical records and Dr. Distler Jill dislter and the staff are refusing to release the info which is illegal. They will release info only IF we come in and pay our bill which they had already sent to their debit collector KCC services for the full amount. Since emailing back and forth they removed the Histopathogy $223.60 and said our bill is now $1,035 and we can come in and pay them to get our records. No no. That’s not how this works. In the state of PA code and bulletin section RECORDKEEPING - No veterinarian may withhold medical documents from clients due to a non payment of a professional service fee. Which is what they are doing.
Again with the grimy business tactics. TAKE YOUR PETS SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!
This would be 0 stars but it won’t let me post this review otherwise.
I do not recommend Elizabethtown Animal Hospital. All they will do is argue with you, waste your time & then play victim. Communication is lacking and overall professionalism is 0. I truly believe they do not care about the animals that come into that office they care about money.
They quoted us 0.00 for suture removal and then tried to charge us an addition 60-100 dollars) because nobody seemed to have a number in mind each person spouted off a different number) You do not put on a receipt “Recheck, Suture removal 10-14 days - 0.00” and then take it back and try to charge more money. That is not my fault your employee Jill put 0.00 on that receipt for the suture removal.
Also, Clientele should NOT know of your money struggles or that your daughter needs money for her wedding. That’s not your clients problem. “Whose going to pay my overhead” - Janet Distler
If your business operates where you do not provide services on a payment plan that should be voiced before agreeing to the payment plan so the client knows full and well what the terms and conditions are.
And don’t agree to a payment plan and then deny service. Then call the police and lie saying we are dashing without paying for services and that we hit a sign. Filing a fake police report is a CRIME.
Our dog very well could have cancer but they are not willing to send off the tumor until the entire bill is paid off. That doesn’t sound like someone who loves what they do and cares about these animals.
Renee Louer 15 experience but yet still wanted to take our “aggressive” dogs sutures out (not sedated by the way), in the waiting room area….ALONE after yelling at us. And there are video cameras within the facility she was swearing at us and raising her voice. I’m not quite understanding why she’d want to do that task alone if our dog is “aggressive” like they are trying to portray. At the end of the day it comes down to the breed of dog. Of course you can say our dog is aggressive and because he’s a Pitbull others will believe it. Our dog has never bitten another animal or person, ever.
In addition, Dr distler has denied our pet inflammation & pain meds after surgery ($40 in meds) after receiving $605 the same day. And 600-800 in total so far for our pet. They have been getting paid for their time and services. They are grimy and have terrible terrible business practices. I fear for your animals life if you continue going here. Read other reviews here and on Facebook. This office turned off the ability to make comments on their Facebook due to the influx of negative reviews. They don’t want what is happening brought to the light.
PLEASE TAKE YOUR PET SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Dr Distler and her staff have been extremely helpful and caring with our pets. We had to recently put our king charles down and every step of the way, Dr D was supportive. He was limping on his back leg and we thought maybe it was just a pulled muscle. When we took him to Dr D, she took an x-ray and went over it with us and had it confirmed with a peer who works with a lot of pets with cancer. He had aggressive bone cancer. She was straightforward and told us what different outcomes would be like should we do chemo or amputate, etc. We really appreciated it as it would have been hard to continue to watch him get around in pain. It was one of the hardest decisions we made, but Dr. D treated us like family and our pup as if he was her own. We were by him through the whole process as we said good bye, we were not rushed, given scissors to cut locks of his hair and hold him one last time. We had him cremated and when we got the box back, my heart was melting. They had taken paw prints and nose prints for each family member to have. I cannot thank Janet enough for her kindness as well as the entire staff. On a side note, they've also been extremely helpful with weird last minute situations for our other pup. If they're unable to see my pup right away, they've offered suggestions to get through the night until they can see her.

Beware! I’ve taken my dog there since she’s been a puppy she’s is 2 now. Always felt rushed during visits and judged by any concerns that I brought up to the doctor. Was unable to make it to a vet appointment and got sent a $70 bill in the mail for a missed visit. Didn’t know that was a thing just another way for them to get money. Doctor also refused to spay my dog since he was over 70lbs. Didn’t know that was a thing either. Will be switching to a new vet for our new puppy we’re getting in 2 weeks.

I have been a customer for just about two years now. My two cats and dog all love the staff here, as do my husband and I. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I know when I bring my animals in or call in with questions that I am always in good hands and I can trust that they have my pets best interest in mind. My animals do not fight me when we go to the vet. They get excited when they get there. I think that says a lot. I really appreciate everything that Elizabethtown Animal Hospital does for our family and our furbabies. I also NEVER feel hassled, or pressured, or upsold on anything. I feel like their prices are extremely reasonable and fair compared to other places in the area.

I took my dog here a couple weeks ago because she couldn’t control her bladder anymore. Being an old dog I figured it was just old age or possibly a UTI. After meeting with the doctor she told me that she believed moo was in kidney failure. She said she could run a bunch of tests rack up a huge bill and not be able to prolong her life or I could schedule to have her be put down. A week later I came back to have moo put down. The staff was super nice, let me stay as long I wanted to and assured me moo would be taken care of at the pet sanctuary where they throw the ashes. A couple weeks later I get this wonderful card in the mail with her paw print, nose print and handwritten notes inside a card from the staff. Highly recommend this vet! I may have not had much interaction with them but what I did have was above and beyond!
