Extremely frustrated with poor customer service at a local branch. Stopped by a branch for a simple paperwork change and was told there wasn't anyone available to do the change. I commented that I called the 800 number that morning and asked very specific questions about the process to do the change and was informed it would not take long and could be performed at any branch. Bank finally found someone to do the change, but she was not helpful and put up roadblocks continuously, making the change impossible to take care of. There was no effort to appease the customer (me); however, there was great effort in thwarting the process. M&T: Hire customer service reps who are friendlier and problem-solvers.

DO NOT GO TO M&T BANK!!!!
They charge minimum fees and monthly service fees. And once your at $0 they keep charging you minimum and monthly fees all the way into the negatives. They won’t let you over draft your account unless they are taking minimum or monarchy service fees. They also shut down your account with no notice.

The staff here is super friendly and helpful every time I stop in or go through drive thru. Oh, and the building is gorgeous!!
