“Wherever they relocate to, we will have to come by, because they have such a wide variety of antiques here. Since they are in the process of moving, everything was very unorganized, but if you stumble upon this place while they're open like we did, stop by! Lots of hidden gems inside.”

“My favorite place to shop. If you need solid and well maintained furniture come here first before buying new. Great selection and prices are lower than they probably should be.”

“So, after a wonderful Sunday brunch at Springmill Cafe, we decided to take a look at the offerings at Bird in Hand Consignment. Immediately, I spotted this clock in their display window. The price required no negotiation! I took the clock home, set it up for testing, and discovered that it was quite a bit older than I realized. Instead of brass, nearly all of the wheels in the movement were made of wood! The clock was manufactured by Boardman and Wells in Bristol Conn sometime between 1832 and 1843.This is a clock that will be in my permanent collection! And Bird in Hand Consignment will be on my must visit list.”

“Stopped in here today for the first time after following this store on Facebook for a few months and there is so much good stuff here!! Prices are great and they have a little bit of everything. Everyone that worked here was super helpful and nice as well. Highly recommend!! So many gorgeous & unique antique and vintage items — it was hard to choose just a few! I’m going to have to come back for some of the stuff I didn’t get in this trip ?. If you want unique gifts for people, this is also a great place for that.”

“Best flea market within the city limits! No crafts, no hipster jerks standing on the shoulders of giants, nothing boutique or over curated. Just random junk, a crap shoot at finding treasure, the way it should be.”

“Great store with great prices on the items sold. If you want it they got it, vinyl, toys, watches, collectibles, model cars, and more. Been going for about 2 years and each visit the owner is pleasant”

“I’ve been going to this place for years. Very cool finds and it’s owned by great people. Ive gotten several things here but one of my favorites is a 70s glass coffee table with three levels of gold circles that move in and out. It’s such a cool find! Judy discounted it for me and helped me load it. Fantastic.”

“My partner discovered this cute little antique shop right before Christmas and has not stopped talking about all the cool stuff Chip makes and how incredibly nice and helpful he and his wife Barbara were. My partner gifted me this amazing end table that Chip repurposed and I love it. I can’t wait to find more treasures for our home.”

“Wow. Great selection of tools and very kind owner. Considering the prices for vintage woodworking tools (hand planes in particular) have skyrocketed in the last few years I feel the prices were very reasonable. I picked up a near mint no. 7 Stanley which are hard to come by and a couple of Stanley jack planes that were missing parts and needing some clean up. I’m not a collector but I like to restore them and use them if they’re salvageable.Gone are the days of easily finding super cheap Stanley’s, but if you want to support a local business with a rich history, if you want a fair price, and if you want to talk to an experienced craftsman, you’ll love this place.”

“I don’t understand how this gentleman gets these terrible reviews. He is very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I loved his outgoing personality and his knowledge of all the items in this shop. Never seen a place like this on. Anyone who is into antiques should visit no matter the reviews. Sounds like he may have been nervous with the pandemic and wanted to stay well by asking questions. If I had such thin skin as these people making these bad reviews, I couldn’t have gone anywhere the last few years without getting upset. I get that people have anxiety about getting Covid. This owner and his charming shop shouldn’t be rediculed because of it. But it’s ok, you can pass it on by and leave the treasures to me and the people I will refer!”

“I’ve been going to this store for quite a few months now and it’s had some serious improvements from the first few times. They have started to organize everything by size on the racks, besides pants were are grouped by sizes which is still a massive improvement from before. I noticed today as well that you can try on clothing and shoes but clothes must be tried on over your clothes. I recommend wearing something more skin tight if you want to try anything on.

There’s a lot less houseware items than before, especially furniture. Most decor or kitchenware are one-offs and likely don’t have matches for you to get 4 glasses or a set of matching plates. Most textiles (bedding, sheets, pillowcases etc.) also rarely have matching sets, but are great for mismatching if that’s what you’re into!

Always check any clothing items for tips and tears, there have been a lot less of these lately but check for a little “repair” sticker or do a once over of the piece before buying.

Prices can be a hit or miss but still a lot cheaper than going into the actual Anthropologie or Free People store. I think some items should be cheaper, but all in all pricing is fair when comparing to original costs.

Overall, I still keep coming back and am glad they have made a lot of improvements to the store. They’re most definitely taking reviews into context!”

“I see all the negative reviews and all I can say is I have found some unique pieces over the years. Please, completely understand what this house offers, what you are buying and how they work and then you will be satisfied. Be realistic!”
