Despite a challenging online shopping experience on Black Friday, Nordstrom's Washington Square store redeemed itself through an outstanding employee, Betsy J.I'm going to detail my experience leading up to Betsy saving the day. After 2 prolonged online chats my order was placed on the evening of Thanksgiving with a promise of a post-purchase price adjustment.The next morning I opened my email to get the order number so I could follow-up on the price matching to find that the shipping address had changed to a previous address I'd used on a trip that was states away from where it was supposed to go. An address that had even been deleted.Despite placing my order the night before and checking the billing and shipping address 3 times (I've had repeated issues with the Nordstrom system reverting my shipping address back to random addresses used in the past), I opened my email the next morning to get the order number to follow-up on the price matching and encountered issues finding a wrong shipping address in the email receipt AGAIN.Despite the items not being processed or shipped, customer service was unwilling to change the address or cancel the order. This led to a frustrating situation, highlighting the challenges faced in the online shopping process with Nordstrom (I've been told I'm not the only person who experiences this with their system).Nevertheless, a visit to Nordstrom's Washington Square store and the exceptional assistance from Betsy in women's activewear turned the experience around.Customer service originally was unhelpful when I reached out to them immediately upon receiving the receipt email and several more times after. They suggested monitoring emails for shipping notifications and contacting them promptly to intercept the package but explained that only then they MIGHT be able to help recall the order if it was shipped with 2 specific shipping services, if it was shipped with any others they wouldn't. My attempts to stop the shipments (they were sent individually) were futile and both items ended up at the home of someone in another state. It was really a bummer, we own a gym -our clients discover new fitness clothing options from us, I'm also a stylist & enjoy helping my clients find the best gifts for themselves and their loved ones.During a visit to the Washington Square Mall, Betsy at Sweaty Betty went above and beyond. Despite a prior reluctance to buy another sweater, she overheard my husband saying how we already had paid for the item that didn't come to us. Betty was caring enough to ask about what he meant. I explained what happened not expecting anything but after hearing about it Betsy refunded my online order, demonstrating exceptional customer service and product knowledge. Her dedication turned around my perception of Nordstrom's service which has taken a big nosedive in the past years.Betsy's outstanding service stands in contrast to the challenges faced with Nordstrom online orders & customer support. Her commitment & product expertise make her an asset to Nordstrom. Betsy's exceptional service has restored my faith in Nordstrom, & I hope she receives the recognition she deserves. I told her I didn't want her to get in trouble for helping and she said no way, customers should be treated well!Betsy is how I remember Nordstrom used to be. My Mom jokes I was practically raised at Nordstrom eventually buying my Lazaro gown and veil from their Seattle wedding suite, I've been a customer for life and so I'm confident when I say- you have a jewel of an employee in your women's activewear department in Betsy J. Walking through the store yesterday there were employees who seemed aimless. Betty wasn't. She was actively folding, making sure the area was tidy and that anyone around was being taken care of. Unobtrusive but a wonderful presence. She is extremely knowledgeable about the products she was selling and loved the brand Sweaty Betty too. She told me she had been working for Nordstrom

First of all if I can give Nordstrom at Washington Square a 10 I would! Diana in the kids car seat department is an amazing soul! She did not up sale anything to me. I made the choice to switch my Maxi Cosi to a Nuna on my own. She went far and beyond for me and my child. W came from seattle visiting my Inlaws. I was not even looking. I had a few concern coming down here with my current car seat. I am so happy I met her. She is so knowledgeable about all the baby car seat, stroller etc... She doesn't bullshit to make a sale. She really cares about the babies safety. I LOVE that about her!! PLEASE LOOK NO further! Go to Nordstroms for all your baby needs and ask for Diana!! 10 star service!!!

I got the chance to get a mini facial and makeover at Nordstroms at Washington square Saturday and it was awesome. Tiger from the Gucci cosmetic counter and Harmonie from the Clinique cosmetic counter put the event on for me and some friends and they were awesome. They did an awesome job and treated us more like friends. They took the time to get to know us and tell us something about them. I had a lovely time shopping at Nordstrom yesterday. I went in to try on a pair of shoes. The gentleman working in the shoe department was very friendly and helped me find the right size and style. After that, I walked around the beauty aisles and was given a couple of free perfume samples from the ladies working in that department. I loved one of the perfumes so much that I went home and bought it online!

Good day, Yelpies !!!I wanted to elaborate a bit on my experience at this location. My wife and I took a dress back for return that didn't quite fit her expectations when she ordered it from Nordstrom's online store. The return process went flawlessly and the customer service rep handled everything professionally. We decided to go upstairs to the women's department and find something else that might fit my wife's expectations, but unfortunately decided to go to a different store due to the very odd and disturbing way we were treated by the staff in the women's department as my wife was looking around for a dress for a family event coming up in September the person covering that department seemed to look past my wife as if she was invisible so my wife found somebody else to help her. I had no idea that this had happened and was also in the same department looking around for other dress's my wife. I was immediately approached by the same person covering that department, but she walked past me, and started fidgeting with all the clothes on the rack that I was looking through. I found this odd, but assumed that maybe she was helping somebody else.I went over to another rack of clothes located closer to the register when another person from a different department came over towards me and did the same thing. Please note neither person asked if I needed help looking for anything.... then it dawned on me that maybe these people assumed that I might be some type of a shoplifter.... I remember back when I was in retail that this was a way to get peoples attention and let them know that there's somebody watching the Department.But I also remember something that was really important and that was to gain eye contact with your potential customer and ask if they need help???? that's it just ask if they need help. You would be surprised they might even walk out of the store with a ton of merchandise, keeping you employedNever again Nordstrom's... no disrespect you did create an amazing marketing plan and that has lead you to amazing heights but your employees are knocking you down a bit day by day with that type of behavior.

It breaks my heart to give Nordstrom a 1 star rating but several interactions with employees and policy changes has really tainted my view of this once powerful and amazing store brand. Nordstrom no longer offers curbside returns, only pick up. I found out when I was already running late and was hoping Nordstrom curbside service would save the day. They didn't and if anything made me even more late because once inside the store, their system wasn't working.Now the employee review, there's a younger lady (late 20s - early 30s) that works in the children shoe and apparel department is awful to deal with. I purchased clothes for my daughter, only 3 days later the clothing went on sale. I asked for a price adjustment and of course she gave me HELL for it!! I mean, what's the point of having a policy on price adjustment if Nordstrom employees won't honor it? She told me that "prices will always drop" so I can't adjust the price. That made me really angry and question why Nordstrom would hire such employees. But I get a sense that Nordstrom is training their employees to be difficult now because too many people have taken advantage of their once easy return policy. Bottom line, this employee basically made me feel awful for even requesting a price adjustment, scolded me for it, belittled me because I'm not the typical race for their customer.

Spoke to someone in Jewelry on the phone about looking at a watch I purchased (a power ranger watch), gal said she could take a look at it.Got there, some other employee approached me and asked what I needed. I asked for the person I spoke to, employee replied with "anyone can help you". Okay, this is gonna be good it seems.I explained what I wanting to get done, employee looked at me like I was an idiot. Explained in a condescending tone that they can't even look at the watch. I was confused and said "_____ said she would take a look, she knows it's not Nordstrom?"."No, go to the watch repair shop next to the food court.I was totally fine with the policy, but the communication left a bad taste in my mouth. Looking at other reviews, I'm wondering if this is the same individual in Jewelry that they spoke of. My family has been shopping at Nordstrom since I can remember. I usually buy a new watch every Christmas for myself and my brother, but I think I'm done. Telling the fam to cut ties too. So much for my Nordstrom points.

Nordstrom is a brand with an exceptional reputation for quality and service and this store lives up to the brand expectations. We have predominately shopped in the men's shirt and suit section or woman's clothing section of this store. The associates here are friendly and have been helpful in making recommendations on styles. The store is always clean and welcoming. I enjoy visiting during the holiday season when they have the decorations and holiday music throughout the store. We've never had a problem with an exchange or return; again aligning to the service brand of this higher end retail chain. Additionally, during the holiday season they also provide complimentary boxes you can pick up for your wrapping needs. For an additional fee, you can also select to leave your items and have them gift wrapped while you shop or wait. I absolutely will continue to shop at this Nordstrom store location!

Now that they have closed the Clackamas town Center and Lloyd Center locations... This location is getting more business.I went to do a return. It was really nice that just inside the doors they had a very large area for returns and online order pick up. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was done in a couple minutes.I did however notice that the area behind the return counter was all blocked off and filled with metal shelves for pick up orders which before Christmas was part of the women's retail area. Online ordering is safer and very popular.... Makes me wonder how many more store fronts are going to be closed. I know it's just after Christmas... But there was not a lot a stock either. This is pretty tough for the people who enjoy meandering around physically looking at product versus selecting it online and having it shipped or picking it up in the store.
