Awful customer service. Yelled at my child to not touch toys although there are no signs posted. Emailed the business and got no response. Will not be returning.

Sad to have to add to everyone else’s poor experience at this toy store, but our family was basically ran out of there this afternoon by the owner or manager or whoever this guy is. Our daughter is almost 2, and as regular frequenters here in Seaside, we had wanted to start a tradition to get our daughter a new stuffed animal at this shop each time we visited (we bought her stuffed animals here in the past without incident). Maybe the owner can chime in here, but is this actually a toy store intended for children or is it just for looks? Lol Because you have all your toy cars on the bottom shelf (basically on the floor) within reach of children, so as my daughter is playing with a few cars that my husband planned to purchase for her, this guy comes around the corner hollering not to touch touch these cheap little plastic cars. My husband explains he plans to purchase them and this guy says no, we aren’t buying them all… so aside from how rude and condescending that was, how would you know what we planned to purchase? I had a stuffed animal in my hand, so I’m surprised you didn’t tell me to put that back. This guy claimed other customers don’t want kids touching the toys, but judging the reviews, he is the only person with a problem. Maybe don’t work in a toy shop for kids?? Thank you to all the other kind folks in Seaside, because we have never dealt with anything like this in all the years we have visited. We came here after a significant family loss to try and get a little healing, and these jokers just put a really dark cloud over our day. I never EVER write bad reviews, but you offended my family and my baby girl, so mama bear came out! Thank you Worldmark, Tradewinds, Finn’s, Osprey, Crabby Oyster, Norma’s, Iggy’s and every OTHER business in Seaside who recognizes kindness and exceptional customer service! We will never return to this shop. I run a business myself and allI can say is this - You all should take a lesson in kindness!

Made us feel super uncomfortable. My 2yo accidentally dropped a silicon play cup on the ground (that is set out for play!) and he chased my wife down across the store to tell us we need to pick up after our kids. Seriously shouldn’t be running a shop with *kids* toys.

Horrible customer service. Very rude and yelled at our kids. We were planning on buying quite a few items and left them after they treated our kids so poorly.

My advice to the owner: don't run a toy store if you don't want kids to touch your toys. I told my three year old he can choose one of the toy cars displayed in their window. He is pretty careful for a 3 year old and as he's holding two different models an employee came up and told us that kids should not touch the toys because they can drop and break. We were there to make a purchase but with such rude employees we left and found something else at another store.

Bought a kite to fly at the beach. It was overpriced, and all of the instructions for assembly were in different languages. Take your money elsewhere.

I've been going to this store since before. my children were born several times a year to buy fun things. I spend around $50 each visit. Recently I went in with my 7 year old disabled son, and it was the last straw. Multiple times that I've gone in there an employee has made comments about the things my child is doing. Because he is disabled he makes unusual sounds and draws attention. Many times he's asked my child not to touch things that he has not asked my 4 year old daughter and other children not to. My son is in a wagon instead of a wheelchair and this time we were asked to leave because of the wagon. When I described that my son is disabled, the employee said the wagon didn't fit around the shelves and we were blocking people. There was no one else in the store at the time. We have NEVER had this issue at any other business. People everywhere else are genuinely helpful. Save your money for a store that educates their employees against discrimination.

As a few others have also posted. This place is not kid friendly. They had issues with our stroller and my son was touching their toy cars to decide which one he wanted and we got told NO GO. This is to bad as we are locals and would never go back after this.

If I could give this a zero stars I would. Worst customer service I’ve ever received in a store. EVER. This guy behind the counter couldn’t even interact in a normal way whatsoever. I want to tell him, if you can’t handle the public in a respectful manner then don’t operate a tourist shop in a tourist town. Very unkind, assumes the worst in every potential customer, rude to kids, rude to adults, and just overall completely unprofessional. Literally yelled at customers in the store.

I felt targeted the entire time I was in the shop and kept getting nasty looks from the worker.

So if you own a toy store and have an abundance of toys (toys of every kind for any age, pretty much anything you could think of) beach toys, stuffed animals, kites, puzzles, balls, musical instruments, books, arts and crafts, jewelry and a glow in the dark stars etc. Why on earth would you expect children not to touch them? You put these small childrens tables out with toys on top and have cubbies from the floor to almost the ceiling with toy cars practically encouraging little people to touch and you seriously expect them to touch nothing? My son was so excited to look for a new car, he needed to see how they felt to make his best choice, and he was told not to touch the cars. Even with 2 adults next to him watching him to make sure he was being respectful and not causing damage to something we would potentially not be purchasing. Your staff was so rude standing right next to us making sure we weren't going to let me touch anything else. If you own a toy store and don't want kids touching anything, then maybe not display them in ways that encourage play. You have an amazing variety of toys, but we will not be back as we did not feel welcomed. I'm sad to see that several other people have had similar experiences and nothing has been done about it.

Go to the Christmas shop across the street! Same great selection of toys and the staff there actually greet you with a smile!

My children were not allowed to touch the toys. Rude staff. We left within just a few minutes of being in the store. I used to come to this shop every time I visited Seaside. Very disappointed. I had every intention of purchasing a toy. They’ve lost a customer and I will not be returning.
