In sum, I was double charged for my purchase and on top of that owner suggested that maybe my transaction did not go through because I have already used up my funds, which was very rude My husband and I were purchasing a gift for my mother in law. I tried to paid with a prepaid credit card with about $15 on it, the purchase was for $10 so everything was fine. I slid it, it authorized the transaction and asked me to sign. I did then owner looked at her screen and said transaction was denied, which was strange. We tried with another credit card and it took 3 times for the purchase to go through. It finally did Now 2 days later I am checking the balances and the purchase is charged on both credit cards. Way to go! It is not a huge sum, but this is also not the way to conduct business and treat your customers. We did ask if the transaction to the first card was cancelled and she said yes, it was declined. The owner of the gift discouraged my child and I to enter the gift shop immediately. She told me that she doesn't like children in the gift shop! She actually took a souvenier OUT of my child's hands. She berated me in front of my child and the one other person in the gift shop. I can't believe in times like these, she doesn't want business from families. I was very upset and spoke with the Pig N Pancake manager, and unfortunately Heron's Nest is its own entity in the restaurant. I hope that those of you who reads this will avoid going to this terrible person's shop. My daughter is a well-behaved little girl and this woman didn't even give us a chance to browse her shop.
