Got a tattoo from zax, as a walk in. He got my mom and I in within a couple of hours and was very patient with us!He was great at keeping the conversation alive and the space feeling comfortable, definitely one of the best artists I’ve had the chance to collaborate with. Aside from the tattoos, everything else in the shop was to die for, and super cool. The atmosphere was super welcoming, and I am DEFINITELY coming back for more ink!

Daughter went here for a nose ring. After 4 days it was still hurting a lot so she had it checked out by another shop (Zouls was closed). They said the ring was in the wrong place and she was charged over twice the going rate.

Overall my favorite shop for piercings. They have cool stuff and are pretty chill.

Stopped in with my sister on Black Friday and both got nostril piercings 50% off.The apprentice was lovely and helpful. The owner is unprofessional, crass, and uneducated. First red flag should have been when my sister asked me to go first with our piercings, he turned to her and said “You have to go first since you said that.” After dotting her nose for the piercing he asked us what we thought of the placement; We suggested adjusting it, to which he (incorrectly) explained how it had to be pierced there due to her anatomy. Nostril piercings are not anatomy specific. She laid down to be pierced and asked if he would count down from 3… He said “Nope, I’m gonna do my thing and you’re gonna shut up and lay there.” and laughed. After piercing both of us, he SQUEEZED the fresh piercings for about 20 seconds. He also used poor/incorrect jewelry for new piercings. Sister ended up going to another piercing business to have the jewelry changed (tried to come here but they were closed on a Monday at 11a, no hours anywhere) because her nose was swallowing the too-small stud, they were appalled at the job and ultimately she opted to re-pierce with new jewelry.Later found lots of dirty laundry on the owner that makes us feel icky having been pierced by him. Do your research.

Got ear piercing done, very good work on that. The wait was a bit long, but that’s to be expected and the store is very cool so some of that time was spent browsing through it and they’re substantial collection of tattoo art books. The reason I can’t rate this higher is the professionalism of the artist who did my piercing using racial profanity (while I had my friend who happens to be black in the room) and his consistent and not asked for criticism of my forearm tattoo. It really made for an awkward experience, I’m not one to feel all that offended by things that aren’t politically correct but there is a line that was crossed. I can imagine a lot of people would walk out on that right away from those remarks about black and Hispanic people.Service: Ear piercing

I come into the shop on a regular basis just to check out the cool stuff they have. In my mind it is Salem's most unique clothing and culture shop for dark and sexy couture. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. The only problem is it's hard to leave without buying something LOL

My fiance and I went in there to just browse around. Ended up looking at rings. Fiance mentioned having injury to hand, employee turned rude. I told the employee I was buying something and tried to put it back then I clarified I was buying it. Employee was just rude and I will not be going back there.

Came in here with my girlfriend on a whim and she ended up talking to the owner about finishing a tattoo she had started years ago.Things quickly went downhill when the owner starts talking about how he’s ‘not good at being pc’ and then immediately makes degrading and derogatory comments about my girlfriend and I. He told us all about how he has ‘gay clients’ and they get along so well but that felt more like a flex than anything else and I did not like it.I have several tattoos myself and have spent thousands on them, and they look great. He tried to tell me that he could have done them better and that he could absolutely do tattoos like I want(his color work is laughable, please don’t go to him for color. His black and gray work is actually pretty good, but I’d rather not get tattooed in a style I don’t like by someone who’s going to degrade me and make me feel uncomfortable just existing in my own skin).He was OBSESSED with our armpit hair too, it was really weird.Also he did her tattoo while he was sick and now she is sick too, we have to miss a very special event because of this and we are not happy.We will be finding someone else to complete her tattoo.Edit: she ended up in the ER with a bacterial infection in both eyes, ears, and her throat. Don’t go here

Just to clarify, the employee I spoke with was amazing, super kind and personable. There was a piercer/tattoo artist (possibly the owner) who walked in as we were checking out and made a comment that was not only sexist and degrading of the employee, but also misgendered me. As far as I can tell, the employees progress the space to feel very queer friendly, but the owner regresses the place back to pre-suffrage. Major bummer.

Really great shop! Only wish their number was available. I purchased a multi piece outfit and one of the pieces was left behind. Have been unable to contact them to hold it.
