These people are so kind and I don’t want to leave a bad review, but when health and safety are jeopardized I feel I have to. I got my nails done on Monday, it’s now Wednesday and I had to go to urgent care for an infection under my nail this morning. I ignored the other reviews about similar experiences and didn’t think it would happen to me. Please do better with sanitization!
Cleanliness: Nail infection from dirty tools/water.

Don't like leaving bad reviews but my experience here was not very good. I got gel nails and 24 hours later they are already peeling. Additionally, the salon was not very well cleaned and the person doing my nails seemed extremely rushed. My cuticle was cut too deep and started bleeding which is fine, but the cleanup process was not very sanitary. Additionally, my finger is still extremely sore as they went over it with the gel polish (did not clean it well before using product and then doing the rest of nails) and it is still stinging. Would not recommend coming here with how many nail salons there are in the area.

Great experience! Honestly, I have to say I was a bit worried about one of the most recent reviews for this nail place that mentioned health issues following a visit. I decided to check it out due to limited geographic mobility and I’m very glad I went! I waited several days to post this review to make sure that I didn’t develop any of the health issues mentioned in another post, but all is well. The salon was very neat and clean, no clutter, and they seemed to be adhering to health and safety standards such as using a disposable pedicure bowl liner. I had dip nails done by Phong and he did an AMAZING job! His attention to detail and careful handling of my cuticles and nails reassured me in my decision to go there. I will definitely go back if I am in the area again.

WARNING: FUNGUS AND INJURY
This salon gave me toenail fungus AND drilled open my nail down to the nail bed- then refused to give a refund. They need to be shut down. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and go somewhere else that’s CLEAN! I have to pay for doctors and medication now because of them and they won’t even refund the mani/pedi.
I lived by here so I figured I’d go. But unfortunately I contracted toenail fungus from a pedicure that I have to cut out and will now have to pay to get the whole toenail removed.
I needed my nails done in a pinch and decided to roll the dice and hope nothing would go wrong…but then I got my thumbnail drilled into which has caused a painful dent.
It’s unfortunate that it’s such a pretty salon and that I can no longer go. I want my money back- so I can use it towards the doctor appointments I need to get my nails fixed.
Edit: I called the salon and someone told me I could come collect my refund. I had repeated myself on the phone with the words FUNGUS and REFUND but once I got into the shop they thought I wanted a service. I didn’t want to say what happened in front of the whole salon so I tried to keep quiet upfront- but it was the employees that made me tell them then SHOW them in front of other customers who were mid service hearing about fungus. I tried to keep it professional for the salons sake but am stunned the employees wanted me to share that out loud in the middle of the shop. I had to pay $200 this morning to get my toenail lasered for the fungus. I WANT MY MONEY BACK ASAP. Cover my bill. Thanks!!!!!!
STILL HAVE AN OPEN DRILL WOUND THANKS TO NIM. PAINFUL OPEN WOUND AND FUNGUS FROM THIS PLACE.

They do a terrible job. Very dissatisfied

I am appalled at how terrible this place was. I asked for what I considered to be a very simple nail. I wanted a long coffin nail that used Powder for the entire nail.
I don’t usually speak up when I feel as though my nails aren’t being done how I asked. But for once in my life I grew the courage to express that the colors weren’t what I was wanting, The shape was incorrect, They were incredibly thick I didn’t want the cheap and ugly shellac and they didn’t look very good.
The owner came over and was VERY rude and basically told me that I was wrong and I didn’t understand how nails were supposed to be done. He told me this would be a cheaper way to get my day nails done to which I responded that money is never an issue when it comes to I’m used to spending over $300 for a set of nails because I’m willing to pay for what I exactly want. As a nail salon an owner should’ve been thrilled to have a customer.
I was reluctant to try out a this salon however, I just moved into the area and figured that it would be pretty awesome if I could find a nail salon right where I live to go to. It hasn’t even been a week and the back of my nails are lifting off and getting caught and ripping out my hair. None of my nails are the same length nor thickness. Not coffin shape And please be aware that the colors that they hand you to pick from look nothing like what it dries too.
e I should’ve realized when it was a Friday And there was only one other person in the entire that I Was not at a good nail salon. I was then charged $80 for a terrible service. These are probably the most simple and basic nails I have ever answer for And somehow it took the Almost 3 hours to do it. I wasted my time and money and now I’m on vacation with nails That are falling off.
If you, as a paying customer, Enjoy being told that you’re wrong and you don’t understand how nails are supposed to be well then this is the place for you! I used to see a very advanced nail tech, but since the move was looking for somewhere new to go and I’m so disappointed that I’m stuck on vacation looking terrible.
DO NOT GO HERE

Update 3/15/24
Your experience will really depend on who you work with- I have to give high praise to Phong. He is so skilled, patient and kind, and gave me one of my most favorite chrome gel manicures I’ve ever had. Definitely one of the best techs I’ve ever been to. THANK YOU PHONG!! Also- I was wrong, the salon does have the WiFi logins at the front desk.
I have been to Rex twice now and have been happy with my experiences. Both times were walk in appointments. Minh did my Valentine’s manicure pictured. He provided a great experience and was very funny and friendly.
My one small complaint is I have zero cellular service in the building and there is no WiFi or entertainment (tv show, music, etc) during my 1-2 hour appointment. Additionally, I did experience a some pain during nail filing and cuticle trimming, which I communicated. But the end result looked great so I will keep returning.

First and last visit: I called ahead for a pedicure (I live above Rex and thought it would be convenient) and the man who answered the phone told me to come in at 2:30. I show up at 2:30. The lady at the front asks me what I am here for - I said "I have a pedicure at 2:30, for Emily". She tells me to put my name on the sign up sheet and sit down. I ask here where to sit down because there are roughly 10 open seats - she tells me "at the end". I sit there for TWENTY MINUTES - not a single person acknowledges my existence, turns the water on for my pedicure, let alone tell me how long the wait is. After wasting 20 minutes and figuring I could go to the nail salon that I usually go to, but is 10 minutes further, I start putting my shoes back on. The nail techs start chattering amongst each other. The man at the manicure station looks at me really upset and asks me what I am doing and if I had an appointment. Again, I said "Yes I had an appointment for 2:30 and I've waited 20 minutes and no one has helped me so I am going to head out". Both the man and the woman I first spoke with just said "sorry" as I turned around and walked out. Safe to say this will be my first and last time here and I do not recommend this spot to anyone. What a waste of my time.

I have come here many times and usually been lucky with my appointment time but every single time I’m here they accept walk ins when they had appointments scheduled and then the people with appointments leave. I once came with a friend and they did my nails and after an hour they still hadn’t started on her. Today I sat for over 40 minutes even though I had an appointment and another person left after waiting 35 minutes after their appointment. I don’t understand why they repeatedly choose walk ins and overbook themselves over clients who are loyal. My manicure was rushed because it was past closing and my nails look horrible.

Worst nail experience I've ever had! My friend and I made an appointment for 3 PM and we were sitting and waiting until 4:30 PM! An hour and a half! They claimed people called out, but the responsible thing would be to reschedule people. There was a waiting room full of women, all pissed off and waiting well past their appointment time. The whole time the manager just kept urging we wait that it will "only be a few more minutes". I was desperate to have my nails done so we waited. I was hoping the quality would at least make up for the wait, but sadly it made it worse. I had called ahead for prices. I was told for what I'm getting it would be $50 (acrylics fill, single color) in the end they charged me $80. He took off way more than needed on my nails, and then charged me extra for it. He was even pulling off pieces that weren't lifting and needed extra work to get off! I have never seen anyone do this before and it took him twice as long to finish. He claimed my cost was for his time, and couldn't really explain the rest of it, but he worked on my nails for almost 2 hours! I've never had someone take that long, and why should the customer pay more for them being slow? In the end my friend and I were in the salon for a total of 4 hours (between waiting & super slow service)!! All this to say that 1 week later and my thumb nail already fell off. My nails never lift until a few weeks in. I can't believe that this place is still in business, this was the worst nail service I've ever experienced! Not to mention all the other women getting their nails done were complaining about the quality the whole time so the vibe there was very tense & awkward.

The owners and team are really kind and generous! I went there today for a shellac pedicure (my first visit). They instantly helped me feel comfortable, and they even fixed my manicure (from another mani/pedi spot) for no extra charge—just real service, care, generosity, and attention to detail. Thank you Rex team! <3

I have been to Rex Spa a total of seven times over the past four or so months for acrylic nails.
Here's a rundown -
Everytime I go in, the price for a fill or set changes. Their prices don't match the menu. It's not 35 for a fill- I've never spent less than 70 for a fill (the same price as a full set). I inquired and they said their menu was wrong. I had my sister call from a different number and they said it was 50. It changes literally every visit even with a basic one color fill.
Once I set an appt in advance. I arrived, was sat, waited for a half hour, then just left.
Finally, every other time I go in they cut my fingers like crazy!! Once it took 2 hours for a fill, the guy created DEEP wounds on my hands that didn't heal for over a week. When I went back in, I saw the same person as I did the time before (I don't like setting appts in advance since they can't maintain the times). I told him to be gentler this time, and he was stunned when I reminded him of the deep sores on my hands that were still visible!
I REALLY tried with this place because of the convenient location, but with prices that change with every visit and the immense amount of pain caused by every other visit, I will travel the extra 15 minutes. The quality of the nails vary on the tech you get...I rolled the dice- wasn't worth it.

I got a gel pedi/ dip acrylic full set and it came out great. I went back few days later to get lashes done after I found out they provided this service also. The woman who did my lashes (Mary I think her male is) was wonderful. I asked for cat eye and that's what she gave me, however the next day I realized this was the completely wrong shape for my eyes and sheepishly requested a "quick touch up" - Mary basically redid half of my lashes no questions asked and was so friendly and accommodating, she didn't ask me for more money either. I will be a loyal customer and wold recommend this spot to anyone looking for professional results by a really friendly staff.
