Honest. Reliable. Trustworthy. Fair. 20+ of mechanic history on my belt and having any trust in a shop is rare. Thank you ProTek

I have been going to Pro Tek Automotive for approximately 20 years. They have always been great to work with. Recently I was in and worked with Colten Andreotti. This was an exceptional visit. Colt accomplished everything we had discussed, and went out of his way to assist me with the head light cleaning on my Lexus.
I stay with Pro Tek for a reason.

Shocked at the number of mishaps in one visit:
Called ahead to get quote on oil and filter change plus fuel filter. Gave VIN because I wanted a real quote. Was given $6OO-$700. Went to pay, over $900. Nothing unforeseen. Nothing extra needed. Either they are incompetent at quoting or unethical. That was strike one.
Strike two: when they were writing up work order I stated I wanted light housing checked. They forgot to check it. Said they’d call with a quote. Still waiting 10 days later. Unprofessional?
Strike three: so during this visit I waited at shop for this oil change. Almost 2 hours later check ETA, they say they misplaced paperwork which delayed time and said it would be 15 more minutes. Then when I’m checking out, a different guy gave me a different excuse for the long wait, not sure who was lying - but 40 minutes later (not 15 minutes that they said ) which equated to almost 3 hours of waiting for the oil change. There were other mishaps during this visit by not worth more of my time typing - so annoyed at the lack of service, lack of a fair quote and absolutely no follow up with pending quote (obv I would not be going back again anyway). Avoid. There are better places with better service and better values as well as pride in workmanship. The bar for competency is so low these days.

I was in a serious jam. U joints and drive shaft. To say the least the guys were calm and cool and professional. They did quality work as quick as they could get the parts. I was surprised it was ready. They also looked past my tantrums. Adulting has been rough lately. It drives like new.
Thank you to PRO TEK!!

I typically don’t leave reviews, but my experience with ProTek was so horrible, and they had the gall to ask why I hadn’t been in recently so here we are. Last summer I brought my 1960 Land Rover in to have an ARB locker installed in the rear diff. I was already storing a car with them so I asked Mike if it was something they could do and I was assured it would be no problem and they had done several. I was quoted 3-4 days and $1200. I dropped the truck off with the necessary parts, some notes on the vehicle, full factory service and parts manuals. All I wanted was the locker set up in the diff, not any of the air line plumbing or compressor work.
After weeks of being brushed off and given the runaround with excuses, they finally managed to get to work on it, I had missed a pinion bearing in my initial parts supply which I will happily own as my mistake, however a supposedly high end shop that can’t order a bearing when the part number is plainly stamped on the old one is concerning. Finally it was supposedly ready. I picked it up on a weekend with the hope of driving it and the diff had been set up so poorly I didn’t even make it down the block before I knew it was wrong due to the horrific grinding and chattering from the axle. I turned around and parked it back in the shop. While waiting for a ride, I ran into the Service Advisor who told me he had done the test drive, and said it was “hard to tell because old trucks are noisy” I’m aware of noisy old trucks, but nobody who knows old cars would accept that level of noise, or give that excuse.
I went in and talked with Mike that week and was assured that this was not the first time they had done one of these and he would test drive it before getting it back to me. After a week or so I got a call because they needed to order a new crush sleeve for setting up the backlash and were incapable of using the parts manual I supplied or a basic google search to find this part. Another few weeks later and it was ready again. I got it home and inspected the work, a bad leak from the pinion seal, sloppy sealant used with a cheap paper gasket for the cover and not the rubber gasket I had supplied, and they had not installed the bulkhead fitting or trimmed the section of pipe that comes out of the diff housing for hookup to an air system, leaving the hole in the casing open. I had to open the diff back up, finish the installation, clean up the sloppy sealant everywhere, give the case a good clean out because it still had shavings in it from where they drilled, put a quality gasket on as I supplied originally, and put the drain and fill plugs in the right holes. They screwed that up too.
End result was about 6 weeks of time, and $1700. I was told 3-4 days and $1200. I still had to redo half the job myself. When I contacted Mike and attempted to set up a time to talk over the issues I found after picking it up, he never responded, until it came up for me to renew my storage a couple months later. Needless to say I found a different storage facility for my other vehicle. Did I mention they lost the spare keys for the vehicle I stored with them as well?
To top it off, I recently had time to do the rear pinion seal that had been leaking worse. I come to find out that they installed the seal backwards, with the garter spring on the outside, hence the severe leak. This is a Dana 60 axle with a couple tweaks, it uses the same parts and construction as a Dana 60. It isn’t rocket science, I am astounded at the level of incompetence from this shop and the striking lack of communication I received while they kept coming up with new excuses for the delays. All in it was an incredibly unprofessional way to run a business and I will never recommend anybody use this shop. I’m an engineer with a background in vehicle development and motorsport, I typically do everything myself but was laid up for several months with injuries. Dealing with ProTek was just as stressful and infuriating as dealing with the insurance companies and paperwork I had to navigate at the time

Mike and his team were able to get me in for an oil change in a timely manner. They also did an awesome job on my wife’s van, which needed some repairs. Overall super professional, the staff communicate well, and they even have a sweet lounge in the back for hanging out while you wait! I recommend this shop to everyone I know who needs a trustworthy, quality mechanic.

Best shop I have ever worked with. I have had my truck in with them twice for emergency repairs after attempted theft, and they have been an absolute life saver. Colten is very responsive and understanding, always keeping me in the loop and is constantly coming up with solutions that suit my budget.
I also worked with Lex who was very knowledgeable, and generous with her time. The whole team there is great, I would not recommend any other place for anyone. The team at Pro-Tek is professional, thorough, and expeditious, I am so thankful I found them.

Mike and his team worked on my Dodge 1500. Exhaust manifold was making noise. He knew exactly what the issue was and gave me a quote that was right on the money. I was able to work out of his back room which had some great beverage options. The team check in on me enough to keep me in the loop but also not interrupt my work. The back shop had some very impressive classic cars that where fun to check out and take pics of.

I had a great experience at Pro-Tek Automotive! Usually I change the engine oil in my vehicle myself because I hate how shops or oil change places typically just leave a big oily mess when the oil they are draining inadvertently runs onto the underside of a your car as it’s coming out of the oil pan.
I’d heard great things about Pro-Tek so I thought I’d give them a try because at 56 years of age I’ve finally figured out I don’t really like the hassle of changing oil all that much lol. From the moment I arrived at the shop I was impressed - there were really nice classic cars here and there (as well as other normal cars) and the folks at the service counter were super friendly. They introduced me to the tech that would be working on my vehicle and when I explained to him my concerns for a big oily mess he told me “No problem, we always clean up the underside after an oil change”.
The tech did a great job from start to finish, there’s no oily mess and he even checked and filled some other fluid levels as well. I highly recommend Pro-Tek Automotive and am so happy to have found a shop that takes the extra time to do things right.

Mike and his team are fantastic to work with. I recently took my car in for a full service and left with only positive things to say. The shop itself is very impressive as well!
