The hubby got a hat, my son a shirt and I bought a blouse. Great service and their security person was very friendly and helpful.

Weird vibes in the store, probably because they deal with a lot of theft but the employees can be a bit more friendly. They just stand around without offering any help and look away when you make an eye contact. I returned an item and they refunded me right away so overall they are providing services like other Patagonia stores. Only suggestion is to please have a more inviting atmosphere. Too many employees just staring at you and standing around is the last thing you want when shopping for premium outdoor apparel.

Not sure if this is a Portland thing I’ve never experienced such low service with Patagonia. It’s a basic standard for a cashier to fold and organize the clothes, then hand them to the customer. Despite not needing a shopping bag, I waited, only to end up folding the clothes one by one on my own while the cashier stood there watching me do his job. It’s laughable that I didn’t know Patagonia had self-service cashiers! What’s the point of having a cashier? Overall, the shopping experience at the store wasn’t friendly; the staff didn’t greet me, and when you look at them, they look away.

Extraordinarily good customer service and value! It can be a bit spendy but worth every extra penny. High quality.

Got a warranty replacement on a Pluma shell, which was great. Part of the reason I buy Patagonia products is the warranty. Although the Pluma is a GoreTex Pro shell, I was given a new Triolet Gore-Tex shell (not GT Pro) in the same size and color as my old jacket. That’s awesome, if only the new Medium jacket was anywhere close to the same fit as the one I had before. It’s not sadly, it’s HUGE.Not a problem I thought, there’s a Triolet in Men’s size small, in black, right on the shelf in front of me! Nope. Patagonia will only give a warranty replacement in the exact same size. I asked to try on the small just to see if did fit any better. It did, in fact. It fit pretty much identically to the Pluma in size M. I asked why I could not be given a jacket which fit me properly, especially considering that it’s sitting on the shelf in front of me. I was told “people take advantage of the warranty, so we now only offer replacements in the same size”.Ok, no problem then. The new Triolet I was given which fits like a Men’s size L went on eBay, and I went down the street to Arc’Teryx to get an actual GoreTex *Pro* shell. Problem solved. BTW, I’ve been a loyal Patagonia customer for 20 years; I’ve spent literally thousands of dollars on their shells as a lifelong skier. To add insult to injury, they pulled the same move on my wife a few weeks later at this store when her Gore-Tex shell delaminated and she went in to request a warranty replacement, for the exact same reason as I did. They wouldn’t even honor a warranty replacement in her case. I won’t spend another dollar in this store, and we both have new Arc’Teryx Beta shells and couldn’t be happier.

I've had my Patagonia down-filled coat for 6+years. It has served me extremely well all that time. But, it's starting to lose down and showing wear. Plus, I lost weight, so it fits a little big on me. We went to the Patagonia store on W. Burnside in Portland to get me a new coat. These things run just under $300.I wore my old one to the store. When I was done choosing my new one, the salesman said that I could receive a rebate on my old coat. I was thinking Great! I might save $20 or so on my new one.Turns out, they rebated me the entire original cost of the old coat. I walked out of the store with a brand new Patagonia down-filled coat for $50! I'm still in a mild state of shock. Suffice it to say that I'm a 100% fan of Patagonia.

Nice shop. Friendly and helpful staff but seemed a tad snooty when I said I didn't own any Patagonia gear yet. Maybe that's just what you get at a Patagonia shop. The layout was nice and easy to find what you wanted. Prices are what you expect so don't come here for deals. They did have a section to trade in your cool old gear, but no place to buy it there. Finally, parking sucks down here. Take the train or walk if you can.

Not a super huge selection of women's clothes or accessories. Wish they had more gloves and scarves. Very high prices. The staff doesn't really give you time/space to browse without following you around to the point it was almost uncomfortable. I understand they probably deal with a lot of theft but as a customer who never steals and actually spends $$.. feeling suffocated or treated with suspicion is not something I enjoy dealing with.

What can I say about the Patagonia in Portland? The staff is great! They listen to what you have to say. They take what you need into consideration. They won’t try and sell you anything that is unnecessary for what you are planning on doing. Friendly, caring and efficient. They know their products, they love their jobs and it shows!
