DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This mechanic is not honest. He gladly took $270 from me to “repair” my car window, only for it to break immediately (twice) and he refused to fix the window or give me a refund.

I have done business with James a few times in the past. Because of this I had no problem paying for my car issue ahead of time. ( I payed him April 7 2023 and car was supposed to be done April 16th. Now look where we're at today he does not return phone calls text messages. If you value your time your money and your car do not pay this man because it will not go towards your car it will more than likely go towards his usage. When I finally got a hold of him he said he'll be over the next day this has happened numerous at times and get nothing has happened I even got a text from his phone saying it was his wife and that it was a family emergency and this was a month after the date of agreement to have my car fixed. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

SCAMMER— DO NOT TRUST THIS MECHANIC. I made a appointment with James to service my car’s timing belt . He said he could arrive around noon or sooner. I sent him $210 down for parts. He never showed up to my appointment. He never called me or texted to say he was late or needed to reschedule. He never communicating when he was coming. I had to call and text him multiple time before I got a response to which he said he was on another project and didn’t know when he would be done. I canceled my appointment but never got my money returned.

James was great in getting me back on the road after my car had some brake issues. His service was excellent and he truly cares about his customers, quality work at honest prices. He was quick to get to me and open when other shops weren't. I will be contacting James for any future work my Subaru needs.

Could not appreciate this mechanic more! I never know when I’m going to get a day off, which makes it nerve-wracking when your car starts exhibiting the check engine light. James was able to fit me in the very day I called, while every other shop I researched was booked out for weeks. He’s very approachable & easily explains what he’s fixing & why, while he works, which is a very nice experience if you’re unfamiliar with cars.After some replaced coils & an O2 sensor, my vehicle sounds so much smoother. He gave me an extremely fair price for the work done, & has been very considerate in checking in after the fact to make sure I’m still satisfied with my car’s operation.Service: Exhaust

Honestly I would have gave him a 5 stars because I trusted he did a good job. Until I went to a mechanic because my car was acting weird. The fuel pump he installed for me he installed incorrectly. There was 0 fuel pressure. When it started up the mechanic said I was only getting like 20 psi. Everytime I would get below half a tank my car would stall out. I didn’t know what to think. :) he lied and said he changed the fuel filter as well which I found out he did not.

James saved the day! It was my first time visiting Portland and my rental car got a flat on Saturday evening. I freaked out when I realized no shops were open on weekends (I’m from Brooklyn where shops are usually open til late on weekends). Anyways, we found Honest Hands and James picked up right away. He came and helped us get back on the road. He also helped us out the next day to put some air back in the tire so I can return the car. I was flying out that Sunday and also had to check out of my Airbnb so I appreciated this, would’ve been an extra stressful last day to a great trip if he didn’t come to our aid. Truly thankful he exists or else my last two days (with the best weather, at that) of the awesome trip would’ve really kind of sucked.You rock!!Service: Tires

I dont write reviews. This is honestly the first one ive ever done. But when you receive service like this it should be shared. James is absolutely amazing. An extremely knowledgeable mechanic, winning personality and an overall cool dude. My car had not been running for a while and i had no idea what was wrong with her. I was going to go to a shop but was scared of all the horror stories you know. After doing some searching i came across honest hands and decided to give him a shot and boy, i am soo glad that i did. James came out the same day i contacted him and had my car back up and running better than ever before in about 30 mins. I almost hugged him! He also came out on a different occasion to perform a tune up and change my brakes in the rain! He is a very hard worker and very reasonably priced. He also will work with you if need be. I would personally recommend him to any and everybody who needs any auto work done. I will only be calling honest hand llc from now on.Services: Brake service & repair

We got an estimate for my car at a shop. I almost got rid of my car because what they quoted would only be to discover the problemThe shop we went to was doing what a lot of places are doing. I went looking for a mechanic & found James. James is amazing! He goes the extra mile for his clients. He does everything to make sure the job is done on the time frame you need itHe is mobile so we didn't have to go anywhere.My partners car had some issues the shopped missed that would have cost us a lot of money. James made sure those issues were addressed so we would be safe.He is a WOW person. He has integrity & I HIGHLY recommend him

I will definitely call on James again. He was able to help us the same day I called. He worked in a methodical, professional manner and was able to diagnose and fix our electrical issue that same day. James had to run out for parts and was able to find them and return to finish the job even though it was getting late in the evening. I called James to fix an electrical problem on Subaru. He came the same day and worked diligently until he was able to find a new battery and the right fuse. I didn't have to tow my car anywhere! He came to my driveway! His prices are more than fair. Also, he is a very nice man.

Hands down the best mechanic in Portland I’ve came across! My poor impala SS stopped running around my birthday & I couldn’t figure out why. ( had previously took it to another mechanic & had some tire work done, thought maybe they could’ve messed with the car)Got on google & honest hands was one of the first business recommended to me. Other companies wouldn’t even come work on my car because the issue was electrical & there had been previous work done. But I read his previous reviews & they were great, so I figured I’d give it a try, not like my car was going anywhere. If he said no oh well.I called up James & explained the issue he was out the same day in less than a few hours to diagnose the car at a very cheap price. Explained everything that was going on with the car & answered any questions I had about the work he was doing. It’s been very cold this week & James had to work around my work schedule but, it took him less than a couple hours of work total to get my car back running !! With a total of 3 days spread out in this cold rainy weather, at night might I add.Due to my car sitting since the beginning of January it had also gotten a flat which he fixed as well, all this work done at a third of the price other mechanics would charge. My car would’ve ended up in the junk yard somewhere due to a simple electrical fix. Honestly never going to anybody else ! If your car is DOA James is the man to call.Services: Electrical
