I moved away from Portland 15 years ago for college and barely come back to PDX. I was so happy to pass by that store and see it was still open when I was back home 2 weeks ago. “I live on the same block and have been coming here for years... Best bodega I've ever seen. Clean, and recently remodeled, Friendly efficient staff, and more of them because they're expanding (congrats!).Repeat great selections throughout the store. Beer has a great spread of old reliables, tons of (esp local) fancier beers, and even a cooler with wild stuff in it... *This bottle took monks 20 years to make* $15! Don't know wine well myself, but their selection looks big enough to need browsing for a few minutes. All the ordinary convenience store stuff is there of course. And then! They've got staples like I've never seen before! Trying to make bread and the yeast from 1997 is dead? They have yeast packets and jars for pete's sake... Rice, stocks, baking powder/soda, flour, selection of sugars, tuna, *capers*, tortillas and taco shells, some decent mustards... It goes on like that. This place has saved my a#$ in the middle of a recipe multiple times!Oh dang even a case with some good Boar's Head stuff like meats and cheese, pickles, various dairy products not just a jug of milk, eggs, etc...I could go on and on, just come here if you're anywhere in North Portland... Buy local, support families, make jobs, have a beer... ?”
