I returned to The Practice Space earlier this summer after a 5+ year hiatus. I'm so so SO happy I did. I came in with a very arthritic, swollen right knee due to many years of running. Months later, my knee is less swollen, stronger and just plain happier! My whole body is stronger through pilates mat, hatha yoga and reformer classes. Krista and all the instructors are fantastic, empathetic and well, fun people to be in community with. I can't recommend Practice Space enough, especially for folks who are looking for different strengthening classes that don't make you feel like you are some inferior workout fanatic.

Incredibly welcoming studio with a wide variety of classes - mat Pilates, equipment Pilates and yoga - at a nice mix of times. The instructors are all incredible.

I could not love a studio more. A calming and beautiful environment with knowledgeable teachers. It is the only place I can find in the entire Portland area that teacher mat pilates classes - and the classes are just excellent. The teachers have a deep understanding of movement and alignment and are so kind and welcoming. I love the speciality classes offered, like folklore yoga or a class that teaches mind/muscle connections. The owner just GETS it. I love this studio!!

Exceptional pilates studio. The instructors really focus on doing the movements correctly, which I appreciate. Lovely, light space, and their membership options are more affordable than other studios in the area. They also have CoreAlign classes, which are hard to find and really amazing pilates equipment.

Came here for a restorative class when I was in town, and loved the high ceilings and sunny vibes! Drop in classes are unbelievably reasonable at $13 and the staff is super friendly.Looks like they have some good deals for mat classes and the parking here is simple. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town!

I started at this studio in July after trying out pilates at home. I’m so glad that I did because it’s changed my perception of working out and movement entirely. The studio is such a calming and welcoming environment with extremely friendly and knowledgeable teachers. the owner is super kind and cares a lot about the staff and the members.the classes are small enough where you get the attention you need to make sure you have the best form possible. the teachers really take the time to get to know and remember you which adds to the community feeling.the membership is pricey but well worth it; especially considering how flexible the studio is when you need to pause your membership if you are leaving for vacation or won’t be using your membership for a little while.if you’re in the fence about joining they even offer two free classes to try it out which is what ultimately led me to join. y’all are the best, thank you for helping me finally find a form of exercise i love.

This is the only place I go for movement classes because: 1. All of the teachers are wonderful! 2. Two convenient locations. 3. Big variety of classes and levels. It truly has everything I look for in a yoga and pilates studio.

I've been going to this studio for two years now. I continue to be amazed by the teachers' knowledge and detailed, personalized instruction... it's miles different from my previous decades in yoga, in terms of detailed functional movement education. It's learning how to use my body in healthy balanced ways. Honestly I never got that from even advanced yoga practice. At Cascadia, I have totally rebuilt my back, hips and shoulders through their kind and diligent attention. I had a lot of pain and weakness when I started in various parts of my body. It's awesome to now be confident that I can cruise through the rest of my life with minimal pain and maximum vitality. As long as I keep up my practice! Also I can't beat the yummy feelings after a class... like I'm happy and floating, gravity really lightens up after a class! Couldn't be happier to be a part of such an intelligent, committed healing movement community.

I was a completely beginner when I started two years ago, and I am so happy to have chosen this studio! I have been going to equipment and mat sessions (2 or 3/week) almost every week since the fall of 2018. The instructors are positive, friendly and fun. They were always able to find the variation that worked for me, so I could improved at my pace, feeling safe in the movements. But the best acknowledge is that my body has improved so dramatically! To name just one change, I couldn't stand longer than half an hour without pain in my low back when I started. Last month I hiked happily for 6 hours without even remember my low back! They taught me to be more aware of my body, correcting bad postures and to use my core muscles to decompress my spine and hips. I will miss this studio and their staff now that I have just moved back to Spain!

I loved going to mat classes at this studio! I was in town for a few weeks house-sitting and had never done pilates before but was curious to try. I'm so glad that I did and that I did so at Cascadia! All the instructors whose classes I attended were friendly, energetic, deeply knowledgeable, and eager to help students progress. I felt comfortable, welcomed, and supported as a newbie. It seemed to me that this is a great space for folks of any age/body type to find positive, challenging work for their level. I learned a lot about my body in just two weeks, and it's clear from the instructors' level of knowledge that there is a lot more I could learn from them. I wished I lived in the area; I would attend regularly if I did!

I had been curious about Cascadia Pilates & Core Align, as I live in the neighborhood and walk by frequently. My only prior experience with Pilates was negative with a large mat class many years ago at a big box gym. By chance, I saw that a six month introductory unlimited membership was being offered at 50% off in the New Year when Yoga Bhoga was merging into the space next door. At the time, I was having some chronic pain from exercise that I knew needed longer term work than outpatient physical therapy and my lax at home discipline could provide. I took a leap of faith / made an impulsive decision, paid the six months up front without ever having taken a class or getting on a Reformer, and haven't looked back! In my almost 6 months at Cascadia Pilates and Core Align, I've taken 100 and counting Reformer and Core Align equipment classes and a small handful of mat classes. I've had class with almost every instructor at the studio and can attest that everybody is fantastic. The instructors are so kind and friendly. Everybody greets you by name when you walk in the door. The teachers genuinely want to help you to feel better and improve your form and function. I felt very welcome from Day 1 even as somebody who was clueless about Pilates and needed A LOT of direction. The equipment classes are small (6 people or less) and there is a lot of hands on attention. The teachers quickly get to know you and your strengths and weaknesses. You get asked before class if there is anything going on in your body that needs attention. There is a lot of gentle guidance, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. I never feel like teachers get frustrated with me when I'm having a hard time with a correction. If you are at all curious about Pilates, this is a very positive and special place. It's worth every penny. Also, my pain is much improved!
