EDIT**Appreciative of prompt response from owner about a problem. Communication about events limiting access to the gym has improved over time, this seems to have been an outlier, and ultimately a planned, productive use of the gym. Mea culpa.**Is there anyway future "movie nights" in the gym could put be put on the calendar or emailed out to paying subscribers so we don't waste our time coming down to work out?

We are grateful to the staff member who shutdown randos narking on us for finishing a knot, not to their liking. It is disappointing that the condescending gym climber culture has made it to Rogue. It still ruined our night out but we really appreciated the staff for trying to keep a healthy climbing environment in spite of jerks who can't mind their own business. Thanks Rogue!

Nice place! I just visited here with a day pass during my stay in Ashland. I had a lot of fun climbing and using their five (5!) autobelays. All of their routes were well-marked and there was a variety of levels. They had a slack line which was fun to try out. I loved their workout room -- it was huge with lots of equipment. They also had a shower with towel service that I could use. Nice place for a fun afternoon of climbing.

Good rock gym.Staff isn’t super friendly and tends to hang out in cliques.

Main issue: kids are frequently running under climbers without any correction from staff or caregivers--even under people bouldering. This should be a bigger red flag, but it seems to be the norm. This is perpetuated by the fact that the facility is almost always overcrowded. Fix the serious crowding and unsafe kids running under climbers and the place is amazing--if overpriced.

Often overcrowded. Staff and caregivers frequently (ie. on many occasions that I and friends have noticed climbing there) allow children to run or play under climbers, both on belay, autobelay or bouldering. Otherwise a cool establishment, just scheduling and management of large crowds, esp. unsupervised children.

I went yesterday for the first time and ended up joining before I left. I am new to town and actually very impressed with the quality of the rock gym here. Decently high routes, good setting, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a killer workout room. Southern Oregon is very lucky to have this gym here and so am I!

Love this spot! I live in LA but travel up here to visit family, and I always stop into Rogue Rock Gym while I’m here. Bouldering is fun (and harder setting than my gym back home). The walls are also fun for sport/top rope, but I’m more of a boulderer so I rarely do the walls. I do love that they have the auto belays for solo climbing. Their gym area with work out equipment (weights, machines) is so big and well equipped, love getting a good sweat in there. My favorite added touch is the permanent slack line in the middle of the gym that anyone can use. They have bathrooms with showers btw! Highly recommend coming here and getting a day pass to enjoy the climbing & gym work out area!

I’ve enjoyed climbing here and having been tested on lead, however I’ve been to other rock gyms and The routes here are not properly rated. While I’ve been able to do 5.10c’s at other gyms, this gym I struggle with 5.10a’s and some 5.9’s. I think the reason is that there don’t seem to be footholds when there need to be.There are kids there often and on class days they seem to be all over the place. I had a kid climb on top of me while I was bouldering. I hope the kids in class are being taught etiquette with other climbers and not just technique.Overall though, it’s a nice place, friendly workers but I think it could be better.
